I was a little nervous about staying here because I don't think I've ever stayed in a best western before but this ended up being a good choice! The check in was easy, the room was decent-clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower worked great and they had a great mirror to do your makeup. The only downside was that there was some sort of crazy loud disturbance in the middle of the night that we could hear through the walls. And that the Netflix didn't work on the tv and you couldn't cast it but a lady came to try and fix it and she was very sweet but couldn't get it to work. Overall a solid 4 out of 5. read more

This was the worse experience I have ever had at a Best Western. The room was clean (201) but the air/heat was the loudest thing I have ever experienced in a hotel. When the thing kicked on it sounded like a big rig falling apart and you can only imagine this every 15 minutes or so. Even though this hotel sits off the interstate behind another building you can still hear the traffic. The room rate was $95 and by 4 am after no sleep I gave up and left. The rooms are currently being renovated and there is a notice posted at check in regarding the work hours. Carpet and beds are currently being done with windows soon to follow. We did not experience any noise or problems with this renovation. Staff were amazing from check in to check out. I did need help with one maintenance request and it was addressed and corrected and was not an issue that impacted our stay. Room we had an updated room and the bed was very comfortable ac worked great. Pool was very clean and we used it a lot during the stay. Exterior noise was not an issue very quiet. Breakfast served in the morning and the cook made sure fresh items were stocked and tables cleaned- he did a great job each morning. Fresh cooked scrambled eggs, sausage links or patty alternate. Pancakes biscuits and gravy. Limited option on cereal: but for me the show stopper was the cinnamon rolls (tip is to heat them up 30sec add butter and a small sprinkler of salt) At first I thought these were from a local baker So good . There was on different occasions I was able to see the staff engage with customers to go above and beyond to make the customers stay and added value. These little points of contact show the staff care about this hotel and their customers. The location is close to other restaurant that we had dinner at. We will differently stay again. i'm heartbroken that i don't remember any names but MY GOODNESS! these girls are amazing! my family and i came out for a few days from california & arizona. we had such fun conversations with every staff member, they all are beyond knowledgeable in the area, & truly some of the most respectful people ive met. if i come out to texas again, ill absolutely be staying here! can't recommend enough! oh yes! the rooms! totally great, normal clean hotel.. couldn't ask for anything else! read more

My boyfriend and I were on a road trip to Houston and it was getting late. We were hitting little towns without any major hotel chains. I was concerned about the quality of stay we would have. We pulled into the Best Western in Canton. In my mind this was going to be more of a motel than a hotel. The design was to park in front of your room and you accessed your room from the outside. Not my favorite type of place to stay. We went inside to see if there was a room available and there was, $79.99/night. The lobby was very nice and clean. The desk clerk was very helpful, kind and nice. She answere all of our questions. I requested a quiet room away from traffic with a queen bed. We got to our room (#123) and went inside. I was very pleasantly surprised! It was not only pleasant and newly decorated, most importantly it was clean. I checked in all the places (corners, showers and such) and the place was immaculate! We had a great stay and the breakfast was good! It was a typical half continental semi buffet breakfast any moderate hotel has. I personally thought the biscuits and gravy were great and the coffee was very good too! My only problem, which is not a deal breaker, is that the sink and vanity are outside of the bathroom door, so basically in same room, around corner from bed. When I wake up earlier than my bf I have to turn on light to use mirror to get ready, which woke him up. And I must say, no traffics noise! Room 123 was quiet! read more

We stayed at this Best Western for almost two weeks. I can't praise the awesome staff enough. ALL of them were awesome! The continental breakfast was served fresh and hot daily; which is greatly appreciated. The eating area was kept very clean. Hot coffee available all day. Rooms were clean and janitorial staff kept the clean towels coming. I highly recommend the place and would gladly stay there on the next visit. read more

the internet here is absolute f*cking garbage... paid $5 for a supposedly upgraded 10mbs connection - and they refunded it because (mostly text) pages still took 45 seconds to load... young girl at the desk was very nice and apologetic, but if you're charging $100 a night for a room in texas, it should have working internet... room itself (i was in 126) is also just ok - typical best western, ok beds, & with a little mold beginning on all the bathroom edges... i will not be back... read more

BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES! we stayed at this hotel this weekend for the first Monday trade show in canton. They charged us $200 for smoking OUTSIDE THE HOTEL, for using our trash can, and for using our door key too much because they found it to be suspicious behavior. Apparently this hotel does not permit smoking outside although there are no signs that state that and the trash cans in the hotel room are for viewing purposes only. I also don't recall any signs stating a # of times you're allowed to use the door key. No walking in and out to go do things. Or to get luggage... or towels or pop FROM THEIR VERY LIMITED STORE... or visit sites... or anything or they'll "red flag" you as suspicious. There were definitely no signs that say you can't use the trash in your room and that they'll consider any trash in there a reason to bill you. Our group of four ladies was in bed and asleep by 9:30pm and up and out by 7:30am to be at the show but apparently we partied it up according to this hotel's insane policies. We tidied the bedding and made sure the room was clean and that we hadn't left anything behind. Apparently, we're not their type of customers and chances are anyone else who takes the time to read reviews isn't either. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU AND YOUR CREDIT CARD AND AVOID STAYING HERE! FYI: in response to management response---outside of the power outage that happened due to the weather, there were other things that made this stay terrible. Which are all listed in the review, but which you have no response to. And this is the same response that was sent to me in an email, and when I responded to you about this in the email, you didn't respond to it there either. So, thanks, but no thanks for the non-apology, apology. There are a couple of requisites I have when staying at a hotel/motel.... 1) things that are suppose to work, should work (keys to your room, etc) 2) the bathroom shouldn't smell 3) if you say you have wifi---it should work. 4) electricity---you should have some. 5) relative quiet in the wee hours, especially from staff. 6) the ability to have privacy should I need it. Guess what was missing from my stay at the Best Western---which is supposedly, the best place to stay in town? All of the above. Now, staff can be as nice and friendly and sweet as can be (may it be noted that ANYONE I came in contact with, was incredibly kind)---but I'm not staying at their house, am I? I'm staying at the hotel. So when I leave your sweet, kind self---everything needs to work and work well. So, when I parked my car, grabbed all my gear (working trip), with full hands, head to my room---and the key doesn't work. I'm annoyed. Not a little annoyed, a lot annoyed. My full hands walk back to the lobby where they have to reactivity my card. (Sweet as pie lady working the desk) Get into my room, AC isn't on, so I switch it on, bc that should help the musty smell in the room that I think stems from the bathroom. Upside: there's a decent size fridge in the room. Which I definitely use. I sit down on the bed to connect to the wifi. Guess what's not working? The wifi. How'd you guess? I call the front desk---no, actually ma'am, I don't want to bring my laptop to the lobby so you can trouble shoot it. Would have been great if someone could have popped by my room though. (Once again, sweet as pie lady on the phone) The real fun began this morning. I'm here on business. I have a curling iron with me, electronics that need charging...you know, normal stuff. 6:50 in the morning, after the rain has stopped---electricity goes off. We're about 5 minutes shy of 7:50 right now---and the electricity still hasn't come on. Guess what that means? No electricity in a very dark bathroom, no lights to help me put on make up, no way to heat up my curling iron, so I look ridiculous after sleeping 8 hours on a hotel bed with bed hair. And most importantly---no AC!! Yay for not being able to be "fresh" when you're going into meetings. Doesn't this sound like a fun adventure?? THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ADVENTURE. I am not camping. This is not the woods. I don't have a sleeping bag on me. I haven't gone in search for firewood!! So, around 7am staff starts pacing back and forth in front of my door bc right next to it are employee only closets. No lights are coming on but there's at least 3 or 4 staff members pacing back and forth and chatting their little hearts out. And I have to open the blackout curtains to allow some semblance of light in to get ready. So while these men walk back and forth, I'm having to get dressed with that sheer curtain lining as my only privacy. How fun is that? If all these things hadn't happened, I still would have given this spot a 3 star rating just on purely quality of accommodations. But all these things did happen, and I'm leaving rather unimpressed. And honestly, to not have a spot of electricity while having to get ready in the morning...I need a 50% refund. Bc I might as well have slept in my car---and occasionally been able to turn on the AC. (Oh----and about 12 times or so, sparks of electricity would come into the room causing clicking noises and the lights to flash on and off....so fun!) But kudos to a very sweet staff. read more

This motel raises their rates so much on First Monday weekends I have to wonder if they should be reported. Even if it is within the law, it's not honest. An increase of $10 or even $25 is one thing, but doubling the rates is insane. Their loss--we just drove to another locale to get a room. read more

We have stayed here 5-6 times. On Monday april 16 we stopped in. I informed the person behind counter that we'd like a room, and we had our 2 dogs with us (as every other time). The girl was a bit rude & not welcoming at all, but we had stayed before. She quoted a rate of 110. Per night ( high for Canton Tx in a Monday night). I said that would work. Then she says 5. Each pet. I explained we had never paid a pet fee before , would she mind looking it up. She did and saw we had stayed before but couldn't see the rate..really?? So 110. Dollars walked out the door, over 10.! The girl behind the counter made the same amount of money that night, but I'll bet the owner would have been more helpful. End result we stayed at the Quality Inn for 79. No pet fee. They were very welcoming & happy to have our business!! Clean, quiet, accommodating. Guess where we will be staying next time read more

My mother and I stayed 3 nights here during a Mother-Daughter weekend in Canton. This was by far one of the best motel stays I have had. I was skeptical at first because it's right off the interstate, but the rooms were clean, the beds were super comfy and all of the staff were so sweet and helpful! There was even a very nice letter from the GM in the front of the room guide (I will post a pic). I will definitely be staying here again. read more

Great customer service. Very clean rooms, it's an older motel, but well kept. Good for a night if you're passing through, reasonably priced.

The lady at the front desk was extremely nice. We had a room on the backside of the hotel facing the RV park. My family enjoyed swimming after a long day. My youngest loved the splash pad. It was a nice surprise. Room was a good size and clean. The mattress was not the best. Someone had slept in that room long term and in the middle of the bed making a V. My husband and I kept rolling into each other all night long. Breakfast was great. It was a full breakfast. My picky eater was happy to have a Texas shaped waffle. read more

Ok this obviously isn't a luxury hotel, it's just a Best Western. But...it's probably the cleanest Best Western I've ever seen. The staff is so nice and friendly (even at 10pm) and the breakfast isn't half bad. Bathroom is surprisingly spacious & there are mini fridges & microwaves in the rooms. There is a good sized pool outside, and a little grassy area in front of the rooms. Great experience. read more

Stayed two nights here as we attended Canton Trade Days. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!! Everything about the stay was great. All was clean, free breakfast was great, location was perfect to Trade Days, and ALL of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My wife bought an insulated coffee mugs at Trade Days and wanted to use it the next morning at breakfast. She asked one of the ladies if she could borrow a little bit of dish washing liquid. She said, "No, we are going to wash and sanitize it for you!" I highly recommend this hotel and we will not stay anywhere but here and our future trips to Canton. Warning! I was charged twice, once on a credit card that was not authorized by me. They did not use the card I presented to them upon arrival, instead they charged an old bank card I must have had on file from a year ago. When I requested a refund on that card, they told me they refunded it but did not, and in fact also charged my other card. I was charged twice and even overcharged $100. I was also charged $40 over what my reservation confirmation stated and that was not even honored. They have no idea how to use a credit card system evidently. The GM, Kristy Michels, was very rude about it and was also very confused about what to do in order to straighten it out. She has no idea what she is doing. She was extremely rude and spoke to me in a sarcastic manner. More than unprofessional behavior. She even refused to give me her last name when I told her I wanted to call corporate to complain about the incident. Needless to say I paid almost double for my room and nothing was done about it. I seriously do not complain or write reviews but others should know about the declination in customer service at this place. I stayed here many times in the past and it used to be professional and staffed with people who knew how to do their jobs. Take my advice and stay somewhere else. read more
