    Ready for Teslas

As far as hotels go, this one was better than most. Honestly, I've stayed at other hotels where a description of "sketchy" would be high praise. Not so here. There lodge in the title fits well. The wide and open lobby, dark wood and neutral colors, except for the carpet, do give the impression of someplace not in the middle of a commercial area. Despite the location, it's surprisingly quiet. The hotel has an arrangement with two nearby restaurants for a discount on meals. I didn't take advantage of that perk because it was late and I was too tired. The Tesla electric charging stations, I counted at least 7, were an interesting amenity. Those with electric cars will be thrilled. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and had all the necessary amenities. The hot breakfast was several steps above the usual muffin, waffle machine, and cereal selections. There were hot and cold options, and even the coffee was good. I'm guessing it must get pretty boring at the hotel at certain times of day or days of the week, because the person who checked me in either had a terrific lunch or had the most horridly rancid cologne or mouthwash ever. It was equal parts funny and surprising -- but I still got my room, had my questions answered, and this person even went above and beyond when I needed an answer that required some research. Kudos for that. I would stay here again, but perhaps spend time exploring the nearby restaurant options beyond the two having the arrangement with the hotel. There are quite a few choices. It's a pet-friendly hotel, too; unlike many of its counterparts.

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean. It's not a fancy place, but it's by no means bad! Pretty good wifi too. As for the town, there is really not much to do..

We woke up later than expected, got ready and packed up before heading down for breakfast. We were too late so we asked if there was a breakfast place around for a quick bite. She recommended one but followed up with... I have just started to shut the breakfast bar down, if you would like there is still some items available...cereal, fruit, muffins. You are welcome to help yourself. Life saver. We sat down for a quick bowl of cereal and grabbed a banana & apple before going to check out. As we did Lydia asked how was our stay and did we need anything else. Our reply was no but thank you so much. Lydia smiled again and said well I just baked fresh cookies would you like one for the road. lol... There is nothing like amazing friendly customer service. Plus the cookies were yummy and still warm when we jumped in the car and hit the road. Thank you Lydia. I hope your managers know what a great asset they have in you at the Country Inn & Suites in Sidney, NE.

Staff said to just unplug it. Waking up in the morning we found rodent feces. When complaining about the extreme disappointment to the teenagers running the place, we were told to contact house keeping and then that if we didn't like the rooms we should have left and asked for a refund. If you want to feel embarrassed for a business owner, this is the place to go. Lastly, none of this matters and will probably be taken just as seriously as when we talked to the teens about our complaints.

Pillows were the only issue for us - they are suuuper thick and made for a not great night. So, bring in your own pillow. There's not a lot of out door space for dogs to do their business, but our dog was able to find places to poop and pee. And yes, we cleaned up after him. :) Breakfast sounded good but we left before we could enjoy it. Most frustrating thing was that our neighbors complained about our noise level - at 8:00pm! Come on, people! Let kids be kids! It's not even bedtime! Overall, I'd stay again.

There was dingy bedding, old pleather chair with pleather 75% gone, another chair was very old and filthy with stains, air-conditioning wall unit was filthy and grimey, curtains falling down, safety latch broken/not working, toilet had a brown stain at the bottom (there is a special toilet brush for this area), coffee maker beyond filthy inside and out, an empty bottle of left behind a chair, light fixture gone with holes left in the wall after fixture was removed, the fridge froze everything, and all of the furniture was crooked as if someone pulled the furniture from wall to maybe clean (?) and didn't straighten it, massive fingerprints all over lobby windows to the point where it should drive you to clean them. I will stop there. The host was very nice but what does that even matter when this place is so terrible? I took photos.

For starters when we got here, there was some creepy guy just hanging out on the couch in the lobby, like he belonged there. Weird guy who just stared the entire time. Now let's move on to check in, the total wasn't bad... $76 for a 2 queen bed room. I've stayed at hotels for cheaper that are decent. This isn't it. We walk down this dirty, dingy .. reaking of smoke hallway to our room. We open the door to what looks like something you'd have to be coming down to even be ok with. The bed sheets were stained, room was extremely outdated, smelled awful and just looked like it had never actually been cleaned. Which, I'll deal with for the night and good thing I have an entire can of Lysol wipes with me (thanks Covid) so we were able to make sure it was disinfected because I'm willing to bet.. this hasn't been. We then go into the bathroom which has the nastiest grout I've ever seen, super dated and small. However, the ceiling I'm not convinced doesn't have cameras in it. I wouldn't even let my kids shower in this nasty room. There was even toothpaste on the walls. Like how does that even happen? The walls were filthy and looked stained.. maybe someone died in here once and it was in the bathroom? Only logical explanation I can think of here. Long story short... stay somewhere else.
