More than we expected when we saw the price. We were very pleased with our room. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and relaxing. We would have give a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the rude treatment I got when I walked in to book a room. No greeting, no eye contact and Shanella looked as if I just ruined her evening. She even looked upset that guest were taking cookies. Morning staff must have been better rested they were very nice. read more

As far as hotels go, this one was better than most. Honestly, I've stayed at other hotels where a description of "sketchy" would be high praise. Not so here. There lodge in the title fits well. The wide and open lobby, dark wood and neutral colors, except for the carpet, do give the impression of someplace not in the middle of a commercial area. Despite the location, it's surprisingly quiet. The hotel has an arrangement with two nearby restaurants for a discount on meals. I didn't take advantage of that perk because it was late and I was too tired. The Tesla electric charging stations, I counted at least 7, were an interesting amenity. Those with electric cars will be thrilled. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and had all the necessary amenities. The hot breakfast was several steps above the usual muffin, waffle machine, and cereal selections. There were hot and cold options, and even the coffee was good. I'm guessing it must get pretty boring at the hotel at certain times of day or days of the week, because the person who checked me in either had a terrific lunch or had the most horridly rancid cologne or mouthwash ever. It was equal parts funny and surprising -- but I still got my room, had my questions answered, and this person even went above and beyond when I needed an answer that required some research. Kudos for that. I would stay here again, but perhaps spend time exploring the nearby restaurant options beyond the two having the arrangement with the hotel. There are quite a few choices. It's a pet-friendly hotel, too; unlike many of its counterparts. read more

WOW, Wow, Wow! This is the PLACE TO STAY if you're in the Sidney area. This particular BW Plus, goes the EXTRA mile. 5-star EVERYTHING, at an economic price. The pool is exceptionally warm, as is the OUTSTANDING hot tub. The breakfast is fresh and overly plentiful. While the rooms are somewhat dated, they are SUPERBLY maintained and clean. BUT, best of all is the customer service. Stay here, you will NOT regret it. Three Thumbs UP! read more

I booked three rooms. One of the rooms had a heavy smell of pet urine. They had tried to clean it because there was a strong cleaner smell as well. I told the front desk I wanted a different room but was told they were sold out. No offer to clean it again or do anything else. I used clorox wipes to wipe down what I could, opened the window and the hall door, and put a car air freshener on the AC unit. It was quiet. I didn't hear anyone in the halls. The breakfast was better than most, but the sausage gravy was very thin and almost tasted like it had sour cream in it. The pricing was comparable to other hotels in the area. The staff was friendly. And there were fresh cookies and bottled water when we arrived. Would definitely stay there again. read more

We travel with our dog so we always have to have dog friendly rooms. As far as the room goes it was very clean so I was comfortable with that. The air conditioner was good. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. The room had laminate flooring. I am guessing because it is easier to clean after pets. The room over all needed updating and the bed wasn't very comfortable (for me) although I understand everyone has different needs out of their mattress. The pillows were plentiful but small and firm. I want to emphasize that the girls at the front desk both in check in and check out were so very nice!! The fees are reasonable, nice grass area for dogs as well. They have breakfast there but we did not check it out. Oh and it is right next door to Cabelas so good shopping. We would stay again. read more

Our car broke down in the middle of Nebraska and we had to get a room for a couple of nights while it was being repaired. Although this hotel was a little more expensive than some others in the area, it is well worth the extra few dollars for us two women to feel safe and comfortable. The room was spacious, the bathroom was clean, and the staff was very hospitable. Their complimentary continental breakfast was among the best I've ever had, with their waffle batter near perfect, the breakfast burritos seasoned deliciously, and their biscuits and gravy very filling. They allow pets on the ground and 2nd floor, but the rooms didn't have any lingering odors pets can leave behind. This place is also conveniently located off Interstate 80, across the street from Walmart and several restaurants, and near the Cabela's headquarters. Should we ever have to stop in Sidney, NE, again, I wouldn't hesitate staying here. read more

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast is better than most with a wide variety from green chili, waffles and the usual eggs, yogurt, muffins and cereal. Pet friendly with grassy areas for your pooch. Nice lobby with couches, chess board and fireplace. Clean pool and hot tub. Gym blows...what hotel doesn't have a suck gym? Fresh cookies at the front desk every day! There are a few hotel options in Sidney, and usually, I go with bigger names hotels, but this is the best hotel in Sidney. Pool is awesome, rooms are always clean, and the staff are amazing. I was in town for a funeral and they helped out my family by letting us checkout extremely late. I will always use this hotel when I visit Sidney over night. read more

The room was decent enough, and the breakfast wasn't bad. The bathroom is where things quickly do the death swirl. The fan doesn't appear to work, and the shower curtain doesn't go to the bottom of the shower stall - so no matter how I tried it, water still hit the floor outside. Then there's the shower head with 3 convenient settings: Exfoliate, Deep Exfoliate, and 10,000 NEEDLES BEING SHOT INTO YOUR SKIN. Far from the worst place I've ever stayed though, so there's that. read more

My family and I had to stay here in a pinch. We were traveling across the country with our dog and it was the only hotel that had availability. The room was clean and had easy access to the green space for my dog. The breakfast that was included with our stay was great. I'm not a fan of hotel breakfast but the potatoes, Canadian bacon and pork green chili sauce was delicious. I know that Hotel/motels on the road are mostly about the comfort of the bed(s), a hot shower and maybe the breakfast bar the next morning. But that being said, I just have to say that our experience in Sidney Nebraska at the Best Western Plus Sidney Lodge was exceptional. We were traveling with our daughter and granddaughter and at hubby's urging I inquired about the availability of a suite that could accommodate four. The unit's floor plan was incredibly spacious in both the living area and the bedroom and, even though we did not really use the kitchen facility that included a small fridge, microwave, sink, automatic dishwasher or well stocked cabinets and drawers, there was a dining table with four chairs, a separate computer desk and several convenient plug-in stations for charging our phones and other electronics. The king bed was SO COMFY and the room was quiet all night. In the morning the Breakfast bar in the lobby offered a pretty standard choice of hot and cold items but made it easy to find something for every taste. It was carefully watched over by Jodi, who made sure that everyone had everything they needed and had a pleasant word for everyone she encountered. Sidney Nebraska is the world headquarters of Cabela's Sporting goods which may explain why the Best Western Plus Lodge is decorated with lots of log cabin style rustic lodge touches while still being beautifully maintained. Our granddaughter used the exercise equipment and the pool and said they were nice spaces also. I would gladly recommend this property to a good friend and would happily visit again when in the area. read more

I've been on the road for a few days trying to get back to Chicago. My friend and I have been staying at Best Western hotels because they're pet friendly. We stayed at one in Oregon which was okay but this one completely tops it! They have complimentary breakfast which actually tastes good! The eggs don't taste like rubber like the other one we stayed at. The layout of the place is cool too. Very 'cabin' esque. I loved it. Would totally come here again. read more

I wanted to give this hotel a better review, but I'm up late because the air conditioner has been running constantly since 4pm and can't keep the room cool. It's sticky and not very cool so my 3-star rating is probably influenced heavily by my uncomfortable situation. On the plus side....the room (other than the air) is fine. It's a bit dusty but otherwise seems clean. The women who checked us in was very nice but she could definitely use some help during the heavy check-in times. She was slammed when we arrived. All in all, it's a good place to stay when you're traveling with a pet. read more

First of all let me say I have had jobs all of my life where travel and staying in hotels and living out of a suitcase was the norm for me. That being said, I have been in great places and places that made me cringe. I stopped here at this Best Western Plus late in the evening. The fog was rolling in, and I had just drove 600+ miles with a small poodle. I got off the exit and pulled over. I saw several hotels and then saw the Best Western sign and thought, they have are good and I've never had issues with them, so lets not take a chance. I called on my cell phone and booked my room. I was put on the ground floor. The price was very high and the dog deposit higher than most places I have stayed. I was however exhausted. As I went in, the room smelled musky and bad and was very dark. My first issue was trying to get the wifi to work for my laptop. The front desk person kept telling me what to type to get to it and it wasnt working. She asked me to bring my laptop to the lobby. She had been telling me one thing to get online, then when I went up, she did something completely different to do it. By this time its almost 11 pm. I was exhausted. I mention that the room smells bad so she comes to the room. She walks in and said it seemed fine to her. Then left. I had computer work to do and to take care of my things, then finally went to bed. The bed smelled of vomit. I called the manager again and she said she thought the room was fine. She said do you want another room? I said I am in my pajamas and am unpacked! And she had already said she thought the room smelled fine. I had no reason to believe the other rooms might be similar. I tried the other bed and it seemed ok. The next day, I asked to speak to a manager and that same person who was there the last evening said she was the manager. Well at that point I didnt feel as if I have any way of getting someone to care about the horrible room. She then said she wanted to give me a measly $20.00 discount on my room. I got a coffee and some fruit for breakfast, went back to my room and packed up and left. So terribly disappointed in this hotel. And for it to be right across from Cabelas and have other hotels close I could have gone to. I chose them because I believed them to be the best of all. THEY WERE NOT. And with only one person to deal with, I had no one to address even her conduct with. Very unpleasant stay. I will not ever stay there, I wont reccomend it, and I will also think twice about staying at other Best Western hotels in the future. read more

This hotel is okay. What I liked were the room. It was nicely organized and cozy. But the beds we're uncomfortable. On the website it stated that they had a work out room. They do, but their machines don't work. I am the type of person who likes to work out in the morning and when they say they have something they should have it. The breakfast... it is okay, but not if you have a gluten free allergy. The eggs were made from powder and all other options were very sugary. Not the best place. But no other breakfast place actually has good food here so I suggest going somewhere else or bringing your own. read more

I didn't bring any pets but they allow pets and they have an elevator for convenience for multi uses. Love the cabin feel as well, felt really comfortable.
