Rooms are equipped with a small flat screen, cable with HBO, telephone, microwave, fridge, and a coffee pot. All of which I would have gladly traded for wifi. Ice is located in the office which I am pretty sure came out of the ice maker in the owners fridge. I have stayed in comparable motels of this class for half the price. Being charged $65, you might be better served pressing on if you are just passing through or seeking something more upscale. The other hotels were all booked up, but the flamingo looked promising and the clerk was super friendly but I can't confirm any info except my first impression. All in all, I would say that I don't have any major complaints as far as cleanliness, equipment working, or basic needs. But I do feel that I was overcharged for what this is.

It is a little confusing as there is a "bar" area to the left of the entrance that has juice and coffee available. I'd like to offer a bit of advice as far as the air con. Wonder why older women are bitchy on business trips and vacations? These damn hotel rooms don't have an air conditioner that stays on all night. I got four hours of sleep because I had it cranked down to 69. It was fabulous and I fell asleep with my sheet on. It kicks off for 20 or 30 mins and I wake up hot and sweaty waiting for the dang thing to kick back on. Repeat this 30 times and you have an agitated, sleep-starved woman. Can IHG not recognize that if they'd allow even just a constant fan, we'd still get air circulation and white noise and probably only need the ac at 71 or 72 and get much better sleep? I am not from the area, nor am comfortable just going into a random store to ask for quarters. I just drove 1200 miles. The 100% satisfaction guarantee doesn't apply to even simple change. To top it off, my door latch has issues; to the point of working about 1 in 10 attempts. Key card works, but the latch isn't catching to open the door. So now, my clothes are in a washer that I can't use whilst i wait for Maintenance that is not located on site. Understandable, since it's 550pm, but I cannot get into my room. Room isn't fixed; I have to lift the latch a certain way til check-out. As for the quarters, the local gas station said no and that this isn't the first time someone from the hotels have asked. So here I am, a POC in a rural town, driving around, not from here, after a 1200 mile journey, looking for quarters. Hampton, live up to the satisfaction guarantee so a Gold HH guest doesn't have to feel so uncomfortable. Ill be traveling around 60 nights next year, so lets hope the Hampton brand (which is most common in areas I travel through) has more prepared locations. Ill be back thru town in 2 weeks. Talked to front desk on check out & let them know & he asked if we wanted to take a shower in another room... at this point no, because we were all packed up. He couldn't refund me because I made a reservation on Expedia. He said he can't refund 3rd party reservations. Oookkklkk.. asked him if he can comp a room at a further stay at another Best Western & he said no, only the one in Guymon, OK... we will never be through this town again, so no. I made him at least comp my dog deposit of $30. Very disappointing! Ugh.
