First of all, the hours of the Tack Room... which if a fantastic experience, have been cut back. I was shocked to hear their top shelf bar closes at 10 PM on a Saturday night! Then, the formally great breakfast buffet was below average. After that the courtyard hot tub did not work. When we asked question about all the changes we were told "new owners" every time. The good news is that the staff is all still awesome and try to help all they can. We spoke to two other large groups who were down for their yearly trip and they joined is in their open disapproval of the changes. The bad news is that new owners are clearly trying to cut cost and it shows. I sincerely hope they soon realize that both the La Posada Hotel and Laredo TX are quite unique in their international hospitality and traditions. They have always been so very welcoming and helpful, a main reason for the repeated trips by those who know and love it. This place has been recognized numerous times in both magazines and television programs and I hope the new owners figure out they have a gem that needs to be left to run as it has in the past, or they will lose it. I have done business in Laredo and Mexico since 2007 and speak with some experience that the worst thing groups or large corporations can do is try to "Americanize" Laredo.

Staybridge also has an outdoor pool and hot tub but the hot tub hasn't been in working order for months. Not really sure why but wish they would get it up and running. Called back a few days later to confirm because the girl seemed so confused about it. Rooms were confirmed but when they arrived the girl said they were all sold out for the night. (They did end up getting rooms) when we were trying to checkout no one was at the front desk waited there for awhile till she finally came out. And said we couldn't check out until the morning. We called in the morning and to check out and she goes "but your still checked in" ‍ When trying to get a receipt after checking out she never sent the email so my husband then called back and was on hold for 10 minutes. Hung up and tried calling back and it seems like she disconnected the phones. Long story short she's terrible and someone needs to get rid of her. Never had this much trouble from a hotel before.

This Fairfield is very clean, from the bathroom to the bed and living area, everything (on my March 2026 stay there) was above average CLEAN. This is my #1 priority. Secondly, the linens and towels were a nice mid-grade option. I really hate thin towels or poor mattress/sheets at Super 8 (haven't been forced to stay at one since 2011). The bed and furnishings were nice, Third, AM breakfast routine was a pleasure. There were scrambled eggs and protein choices plus great coffee and the usual juice concentrate machine. Other stuff to eat, but I'm set on my favorite items. Forth, the staff was very nice and helpful. Never in the way but always available. Nice job there. Fifth, the location is convenient enough, not right on top of noisy I-35 but close enough. It is not in a crazy '13 hotel complex', but it is a block from the mall and only a few blocks to favorite eating places like Raising Cain's and Chick fil-A, Longhorn Steakhouse, etc. H.E.B. grocery store nearby, Lastly, security seemed OK for the area. No disturbances (or even sirens) during my week- long stay. I will definitely choose the Laredo Fairfield Inn again when I travel there and hope it is maintained like it is at the present time.

She gave me the impression that management was aware of the issues and the technicians were not able to correct prior to our check in time. This was very disappointing stay at the Marriott.

It has all the basics you would expect from a Marriott property: clean room, well-made bed, plenty of towels, wood-polished modernized furniture/work stations, complimentary breakfast with elite options, outdoor pool, and a clean exercise room. It's obvious this is a newer property with everything working properly and in prestine condition. Another reason I love the Towneplace Suites branch of Marriott is the full kitchen where you can cook your own meals if you like; they have plenty of dishes and kitchen tools at your disposal plus a full-sized fridge for storing items. Helps when you're out to dinner or ordering take out and you have leftovers. Only minor gripe is the room can get a bit toasty but this was during January where temps were 30 or below outside. So adjust that thermos accordingly. Glad this is in Laredo and much better than their Courtyard/Springhill Suites locations.

I was sitting on the bed & at 2pm exactly I had an employee (a man) open my door with his own key to MY ROOM with NO post warning! NO KNOCK! He just opened the door , I was literally STUNNED & he just looked at me for a moment & I said who are you? He then took a step inside the room ! Thankfully my husband was coming out of the restroom & stared him down that is the exact moment he said he worked at the hotel and was checking the room to see if it was empty? I then said -Empty?? I paid for two weeks ! HE HAD NO IDENTIFICATION NO ANNOUNCEMENT BEFORE HE OPEND THE DOOR - NO APOLOGY AT ALL what I said to him calmly was "You really should KNOCK before entering ANY ROOM" he looked furious at that point and SLAMMED the French door so hard it shook ! I CANNOT fully explain the shock I felt and as this sinks in ....it is sickening to think about the WHAT IF ? I was ALONE in the room or worse if there was a teenager or children alone in these rooms. STAY AWAY they pay no attention to you here , the staff in the front has no sense of urgency to help or clean these rooms. If there was no start to give that is exactly what I would have put down!
