If you're looking for a hotel That's clean and convenient from interstate, this is the place! We only needed it for one night while traveling from Memphis to Gainesville, FL. Mitzi checked us in and it was quick and smooth. I left my Rx in room but I received a call from Alex after we back got on the road that they found it and would hold it for me or mail it to me. This was a horrible experience. First the door to the room kept jamming and it took 5 minutes to get in, Then the coffee pot was filthy and the tub would not drain properly, The toilet overflowed and the handle from the toilet broke off, We had to change rooms at 10:30 at night and did not get compensated for the all these inconviences, What upset me the most was the complacency and unapologetic attitude from their Manager. After a long day of driving we checked into our room. The beds ok and felt very damp. The whole room felt damp. I went into the bathroom to take a shower and I got in and turned on the shower. The shower head only had two modes. In my words to describe the modes: piercing rain and killer jet. I chose piercing rain. It was the most miserable shower I have ever had. There was no dehumidifier in the bathroom so it felt like a sauna when I got out, I almost fell. And last the a.c was not the best. I will leave it there. read more

This is my first stay here at Best Western, and I am very pleased with this location. The staff here are very friendly and caring. The house keeping staff are very friendly and spoke to me when they saw me. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I stayed in a single queen room and a king room. I will be staying here again! FYI My wife and I are laying here in room 120 not able to sleep because of constant noise from the room right above us. I called the front desk and was told they didn't know what room was above us and she couldn't go tell them to be quiet. She said that they were totally booked so no other rooms were available. If there was a way to give a negative rating I would. I have NEVER experienced anything like I did last night. I made a reservation thru Hotels.com a few days before and PAID for it. Upon arriving at hotel the front desk clerk said she didn't have any reservations for us even though I had a confirmation number. She sort of brushed me off and told me to call Hotels.com and she proceeded to wait on other people. When I called Hotels.com they found it and called the hotel. She suddenly found one. When I said it is paid for she tried telling me what I owed and finally she printed out something and said oh maybe it is paid because there is nothing due on here. After more than a half hour spent trying to check in after 9 hours on the road I asked to talk to a manager. She claimed no one in authority was there but would be after 8. Well I went down about 8:15 and was told by same clerk that manager still wasn't there. After all this time my biggest complaint was at no time did the desk clerk (whose initials are AW) never say "I'm sorry"or anything that resembled an apology. I would have been less upset. Everyone makes mistakes. We are all human and life happens but not to apologize was unimaginative at this point. When I went downstairs to use the exercise room to walk off some frustration I was shocked to see no towels, no wipes, nothing to wipe off machines. Seeing we are suppository still dealing with a pandemic I was very surprised. The next day at checkout I asked for the manager. She was there and did apologize. She may have heard about it since I did call Best Western customer care and reported my experience. I was told some Best westerns do not have a manager on duty all the time. I was shocked because if an emergency happened this front desk person would have been no help. The manager did apologize and offered to sign me up for their rewards program and give me enough points for a free night. I declined because I will NEVER be staying at another Best Western EVER. read more

Not a good experience. We waited over ten minutes at the desk for the person on duty to show up and check us in. Mattress was ok. Four thin pillows and scratchy sheets. Bedspread stained. There was a desk in the room with an ok desk chair. There was another chair also- very low to the ground. I am just over five feet tall and the seat on it was below my knees. Nightstand on one side of the bed only. Bath towels small and also very scratchy. Positive: the water pressure was great and the water was very hot. Breakfast was included. An hour before it was set to end we went down to eat. No forks. No juice cups. Orange juice dispenser was dispensing water. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and make your own waffles. There was sausage gravy but not a biscuit to be found. Another guest went to the desk and found a woman who got out some forks, said - huh- no biscuits- and returned to the desk to talk with the clerk on duty. Overheard another couple ask about checking out 30 minutes late. They were told to talk to the maids on the floor, the desk clerk said it was the maids decision and that the desk didn't handle that. Struck me as kind of odd. People two doors down had trouble with their door lock. They would put the key in and the door handle would go down but the door would only open every third or fourth try went they would butt it with their shoulder. Not one employee said hello in the halls or on our way in and out of the motel. Felt very much like none of them wanted to be there or liked their jobs much. Having spent almost two weeks in Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee this was a sharp contrast to the very friendly staff at the other hotels we stayed at. I would not stay here again read more

Ryan was very helpful with our check in. The rooms were clean, the bed comfy, and lots of pillows. I like pillows. Breakfast was good too. Sausage links, diced potatoes, eggs; as well as danish, muffins, cereals. And a waffle maker with added toppings and add ins for those. You may have to ask staff for making a bit more of things running low but they are quick to comply. Overall, nice stop for traveling thru. read more

Horrible stay. Rude owner and manager. Everyone that works here seems unhappy. Rooms were not cleaned well. Cockroaches killed every day that we were there. Housekeeping didn't clean bathroom floors or carpets. Sheets were not changed during the 3 nights we were there. Public restroom overflowed and standing water was left overnight in the hallway. Example of poor management: on the last day during checkout, the manager's car was parked in the covered parking area. Desk staff could not get her to move her car. We could not find her to talk to her about it. It was pouring down rain. Elderly guests had to haul all their luggage out to their cars in the rain because she was blocking the covered area. Despicable and unprofessional. We love Best Westerns but we will never stay at this one again. read more

Not bad for a Best Western. Pretty new hotel and rooms were very clean. Pool is an indoor pool but is not heated - pretty cold water. No hot tub. Breakfast was very nice. The temperature of the room was very hard to regulate - could not keep it cool - and the unit was very loud. read more

This hotel is very comfortable and extremely clean and quiet. All rooms are non smoking. The front desk receptionists were very helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good with waffles, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, etc. Everything was delicious and neatly arranged. I am so confused as to why it's such a problem for this hotel to get pest control.... roaches were found everywhere. Absolutely terrible. When I stay somewhere I expect cleanliness not disgusting roaches. This places needs to get it together. To add on when we complained to the employee he said there's nothing he can do then when asked if he was aware of the roaches he said he would be lying if he said no. Don't stay here. read more

Wholly smokes. I don't know where to start? The desk staff is not only on their phones resting all the time, but the room was left with pillows the same way we left them in the am, the beds made??? Towels we had to call for to get replaced, and when a toilet overflowed downstairs the staff left the "water" standing on the tile floor (exceptionally dangerous) was odd to walk through to get to the ice machine that was out of order. No fan in the bathroom...and the "gym" treadmill didn't work. I close with the fact the when a pizza was simply unfinished in a box on the table with the tv, it was found with numerous roaches inside the box as a wake up call. What a nice hotel!! Really enjoyed our stay! The hotel was clean and up to date! Room was spacious with impeccable style!

We have stayed here before in past years and had fine experiences, but after this time we will never stay here again. Horrible service from the start. Every employee we spoke with was either on their phone or clearly just not interested in helping. Customer service has been the worst. On our second night here, after it looked like housekeeping had come in (turns out they just folded the sheets back to make the beds look nice and replenish our towels). The floors hadn't been vacuumed, there was trash on floor in the bathroom that was never collected, and hairs found in the towels. Every day we have stayed here, there has been at least one cockroach sighting.... Mid-way through our stay we found 2 cockroaches in the bathroom that we killed. We also had a pizza box sitting on the tv stand (so plenty high enough where roaches shouldn't be) and when we opened it in the morning the whole pizza was crawling with roaches...absolutely DISGUSTING! Came into the hotel today to find that one of the public bathrooms on the first floor had overflowed and only one employee was slowly cleaning it up with towels. When we came downstairs a couple hours later, there was still standing water in the hall.. We are loyal and Platinum Best Western customers, but following this visit we will never stay at this particular Best Western again and would advise anyone looking for a hotel in Troy not to as well. read more

I was highly disappointed in our recent visit to the Best Western in Troy, Alabama and wanted to provide feedback. I booked the room through Expedia for a wedding we were attending. First, I tried to contact the hotel multiple times on our way up to add a friend to our room so they were able to check in since they would be arriving an hour before us. I continued to get rerouted to an automotive service and could never get through to someone. Our company arrived, checked in the room (without our permission to the hotel), and was never asked for identification. The second problem was the stench in the hotel. I'm not sure exactly what it smelled like, but it was not a pleasant smell. When we walked in, there was another couple asking to change rooms because of the smell in their room. Once we got in our room, I pulled the sheets back to assure they were clean as I do at every hotel I go to no matter how well-known it is. There were stains on the sheets as if someone had an accident, yet my issue is after someone stays the sheets should always be changed. Then I pulled the sheets back to look at the pad under and there were multiple urine stains on it. When we informed the front desk we would not be staying anymore, the response we received was "Ok, you will not be charged. Have a good day" . We were highly disappointed not only in the quality of the room, but there wasn't even a solution offered for the problem at hand. I can imagine with the inability to reach someone by phone, the horrible smell throughout the hotel, the dirty sheets, & lack of customer retention, this location will not be receiving much business in the future and will not receive our business again. read more

To be fair the Hotel was clean and they did have a microwave heated free breakfast. That being said the staff was dreadful. The manager was a jerk and the front desk clerk was uninformed. I called ahead for a price and when I got there (15 mins later) the price magically not only went up $20 a night but doubled because of the time I wanted to check in. I'm a truck driver and for a 10 hour stay they wanted to charge me for 2 nights. When I discussed it with the manger he finally agreed to the price I was quoted over the phone but later that day he proceeded to try and lecture me about the rules, he was very rude about it. If you can get past how nasty the staff is then this is about the 5th cheapest hotel within a 10 mile radius, for the price I would have rather paid the extra $10 and stayed at the Hampton Inn. Unfortunately if I would have driven my truck any more that day I would have been in violation. Which is why I called ahead, as I explained to the manager. Never again! read more
