Whenever I go to Berlin and need to do some work I go here. It's an amazing workshare space with a beautiful café on the ground floor. Really fast internet, great coffee, beer and snacks. Extremely friendly staff and great diversity of people that use the workshare space from long time dwellers to day visitors like me. €5 gets you 24 hour access and you have to sit at a table with a green sticker. I know this is Germany & customer service leaves something to be desired... but this is a new low... I've never seen anything like this. The cashier behind the cafe deliberately remembered me, what I ordered and the bill I used to pay with, but when I confronted her about the 5 euros I was shorted, she said that since I left the counter & came back 2 minutes later there was nothing she could do to return change she had miscounted. Betahaus... Another startup hub in busy Berlin. Located conveniently near the moritzplatz and kottbusser tor U bahn stations, it's a popular place for people to get their idea off the ground in Kreuzberg. The place is always quite busy and bubbling, with lots of events and new faces every week. They've got a pretty nice cafe, get there early to find a seat. Monthly events for all members foster a feeling of community and help people to meet each other, which can be difficult when you've got your head down all the time. Drinks are good but a bit expensive, but the food (which I haven't tried) seems reasonably priced. Whether you're a one-man-army, a startup, or just looking for a place to get online this place would be great... except their internet connection is terrible. What I mean is, if the place could do just one thing right, it seems like it should be that they made sure the connection was reliable and available to everyone. But instead it cuts out frequently or it's just so slow you can't do basic things and resort to tethering your phone. Sure, it's not like this all the time, but I would say 1 out of three times it will be enough that you can't work. How can this possibly be a hub for startups or creative people when they can't connect to the Internet? Sell as much fancy whole grain vegan unverpackt food as you want but in the end if I can't get my email, I'm leaving. My main point is, Betahaus could be much, much better and really could be a great place to work but the issue of the Internet connection is holding them back. I'm not sure really what the issue is, but it seems like they don't either. I'm really hoping they fix this, I think they'd get much more business! read more

I just attended a conference here and i simply LOVED the space. Lots of rooms for seminars and workshops, clean restrooms and spaces, wi-fi, good coffee, tea and drinks, quirky and miscellaneous decor. It is clearly a space thought for brainstorming and work sharing, with an emphasis on encouraging indie and small enterprises and creative activities; there are lots of books, magazines and cards for artists, crafts, and groups that work together on anything from knitting to coding. There is a calendar of upcoming groups, activities and events, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming, so you feel like you can jump into whatever floats your boat, no questions asked. It's easy to reach, just a couple of minutes on foot from Moritzplatz. Definitely going to visit again! read more

Really wanna give Betahaus a 5 star rating. The coffee is great, the concept is great, the interior is great (they make most of their furniture, very cool). I'm knocking one star for pretty pathetic wifi for a coworking space. It's about 6Mbps download. This is really strange, because monthly price is pretty high (reasonable, but high) and there are a lot of people who work here, so you'd think they could afford the fastest connection available. Knocking another star for the general feeling of unorganizedness. The doors are always open, so I feel I wasted €150 on the monthly pass and the only security for 24-hours pass is someone coming around to ask if you have 24-hours access. If I can just walk in with no security, why have a card? Really think Betahaus could be great, and foster a place for artists and people who freelance to work, but it falls a little short. Also needlessly focuses on startup culture a bit too much. We don't need that in Berlin. read more

Nice location: great to chill around with a friend, to read or to open your notebook and have your job done. Nice paninis, tasty food during the lunch time and the coffe is quite ok. You never get stressed by the staff asking if you want something else so you can sit here for hours an nobody will disturb you. You have to be patient with our order: it does not always go quick and smily faces are nor guaranteed. If you can leave with it (I found that I perfectly can) you'll probably like the place. read more

As co-working spaces go the wifi was alright. The prices for coffee and sandwiches were reasonable and the space was buzzing with activity. Lots of free tables in the morning but then it got pretty crowded at night. So if you want to find a good spot next to an outlet, get there early. read more

Really great prices and super nice people. It's a tick too dark for my tastes, though, that's why I usually prefer St Oberholz to work.

Terrible customer service. Staff at reception desk acted like they didn't even want to bother. Tours are only possible if you come to the breakfast on Thursday, which costs 10 Eur, and forget about a free trial day to get a feel for the space. Even worse, since they won't cancel your membership without a full month's notice ahead of time, if you sign up for a membership and decide after one day that it's not for you, it's already too late to cancel for the *second* month as well. Space is loud and messy, especially in the afternoons. As I'm writing this, a loud, thumping bass is coming from the upstairs event space (directly above the coworking space), loud enough to make the furniture vibrate. Difficult to get serious work done here -- other coworking spaces are far quieter, filled with people clearly coding, doing serious work. If a crowded, busy space is fine for you, just go to a coffeeshop, which would be cheaper. I actually like the coffeeshop downstairs better than the co-working space. Single-stall bathrooms are also unnecessarily gendered. Other co-working spaces are more queer-friendly (try co.up, which also offers a discount for minorities). Only good point: membership includes copy services and color printing, useful for design work. In short: far overpriced for what you get, especially in Berlin. Gives the sense that they're just trying to make money off of us. Don't bother. read more

Betahaus is the downstairs cafe for a shared workspace, where freelancers can have a desk to focus and get their work done in an office environment, which is a neat idea. Now I love me a good tomato-and-mozzarella panini, and just well-made paninis in general, and betahaus has a good one. On a recent cold and drizzly day I went and had a delicious creamy coffee and one such panini, and it was the perfect lunch to warm my afternoon. The stew special looked good, as did the hot chocolate. The prices are good, and I love the quiet atmosphere and mix of vintage and minimalist furniture. There are plugs galore for laptops etc. I will definitely be back next time I want a good panini and a relaxing place to chill. read more

I went to Betahaus to try out the co-working environment and to see if it was a good fit for me. It turns out that it's not. Of the many staff members I met, only one was in any way friendly. The rest seemed completely disinterested in any form of interaction. The coffee wasn't great, the food selection was very limited, and the service was quite shocking. I bought a quiche and the slice that the server cut was so miniscule that a small bird wouldn't have been satisfied. I asked another staff member for directions in English and he berated me for not asking in German, before reluctantly answering me in English. Is that the welcome that Betahaus gives to potential new members who move to Berlin ? The reason for the two stars here (and not less) is that the facilities are not bad at all, and the environment is quiet enough to get some good work done. However the general mood is not one of helpfulness, friendliness, or interactivity and that's what I'm looking for in a co-working space. Sorry Betahaus, thumbs down! read more

I'm usually a calm person, used to the slow, sometimes ineffective Berlin service, but the staff at Beta Haus display a whole new level of incompetence and rudeness. I mean all they need to do is look at you, ask you what you want and make you a coffee but somehow they can make your blood boil with the sheer ineptitude of their abilities. Did all the staff here have a lobotomy? Apart from the staff, it's a nice enough place to work - just be prepared to be ignored when you are at the counter trying to get somebody, anybody to make you a coffee - be prepared for the coffee to take an age to manifest - be prepared for conversations between staff to take precedence over any of your requests - be prepared for any of your questions to be met with a blank stare, and don't take any sharp weapons with you - you might just kill somebody. read more

If all you want is a no frills place with decent internet access then this is OK, however if you are a free lance who works from home and want a place to socialize and meet other people you will be disappointed. The facilities such as kitchen and toilets could be better. I understand the decision of not having a microwave as there are people who would stink up the place with curry, however the only fridge is very small, always very full and not cleaned as often as it should. The desks are also not as clean as I would expect even though I would come in early. The bathroom was clean but not checked often enough and would constantly be out of TP by the end of the day. There were days when internet access was very slow but after a few complaints it got sorted out. Staff at reception is very helpful and friendly. I can't say the same about staff at the Cafe. They think they are celebrities who are too busy doing anything else but to serve customers, who are often ignored. No wonder people say in their reviews they are left alone, staff at the Cafe is doing anything else but serve customers. read more

cool atmosphere which is already not too bad, fast internet, good coffee, good events, but apart from that an "oh so hipster techie hug me twice when I see you twice" style, a "service" desk which does not deserve the name - if ever someone is there, if ever that someone is competent, unfortunately mediocre food in the café, used up office furniture in the co working spaces, very uneven heating in winter, an elevator which will not get repaired but be "restricted to staff" so that it does not get overused, a pricing concept which is on the edge of expensive and does not reflect large potential user groups, like people who develop in the evening/night or at weekends - they have to pay a fortune for time they do not use during the day. The staff and service leaves a lame impression, the concept however is great! read more

Ordered the vegan dish - it came with a good chunck of chicken. Was told by the unpleasant waitress at the bar that it was my responsibility to go to the kitchen talk to the cooks who thought the chicken was seitan (no resemblance whatsoever). Fun times... Did get my money back, a free drink and apology though. read more
