Needless to say, I don't have much basis of comparison, but the Church of St. Patrick and St. Anthony is quite a sight to behold. Clearly, downtown Hartford has grown up around this and other churches like it. Long before thousands of fans were worshipping the Whalers across the street at the Civic Center (and apparently not hard enough), local Catholics worshipped Jesus here. I was here for a wedding. Father Tom spoke with incredible poise, and conducted a very nice ceremony. The church itself is impeccably kept. My experience was one of grateful tears of "home coming" when I returned to my Christian roots. Many of those whom I have met came from other denominations and beliefs. Third Church doesn't pound you into their round hole, it is welcoming and nonjudgmental. Summer Sunday Serviced are at 9:00 AM. At 10:00ish it's coffee hour or you can skip that and get on with the rest of your day.
