I was so disappointed in this studio. It's in a great area, but the studio is only one room for everything, very cramped, and when people come in early for the next class it is disruptive during the yoga rest at the end of the practice. The class was Ok, there was a lot of dead space between moves, and it did not feel like a very good workout overall. And there were only a few moves gone over, not very cohesive. I tried calling a few times to cancel my last 3 classes that I reserved because I had to return home to New Orleans last minute for a family emergency, but there was no voice mail, the phone kept ringing. I was fine loosing the $30 since I only was able to attend one class for the week. I planned on sending an email once my flight landed back home and I was able to get settled and help my family through this difficult time, obviously sending an email to a yoga studio after several attempts at calling, was not my main priority. When I got to my computer yesterday, I had received a very snarky email from the owner advising me that she was charging me $10 for each class I missed, when I explained that I tried to call and inform that I could not attend, she very rudely replied that it is not her responsibility to cancel my classes for me. Over it, and make sure you do not save your credit card information to the site, they WILL charge you without your permission and there is no option to delete your card info once added, you can only edit or add another card. I recommend the Vita Prana Studio a little further down Atlanta road if you are new to the area.

Spoiled by not really having to worry about working out or food for most of my life, time caught up…read morewith me. Literally! After years of the gym, trainers and sporadic spurts of fitness motivation, I tried bootcamp. More specifically, I decided to do the winter camp in December because it was a shorter 3-week version under the idea that even I could survive three weeks of working out. After almost backing out the weekend before it started, I showed up at 5:30am on Monday and told myself if I didn't like it or some random instructor yelled at me, I didn't have to come back, as long as I got through the first day. Well, I didn't like it and couldn't even run an entire mile without walking, but the instructors and other campers encouraged me and made me feel comfortable enough to struggle through the PT test. So I came back the next day, and now 4 months later I just completed another month of boot camp and can't wait for the next one to start! Have I lost weight and gotten stronger? Yes, considerably! But more importantly, boot camp has taught me to focus on pushing myself to do more physically. I no longer focus so much on weight loss, but on getting stronger, faster, eating better and setting new goals for myself. If you're doing that, other results will fall into place and you don't get discouraged by numbers on a scale or BMI percentages. And the unexpected benefit that you won't find running on a treadmill - a wonderful group of people to encourage you and celebrate your progress and push you toward new goals. If I could give it more stars I would - OBC Smyrna has been an absolutely positive experience - 100%+

"There Is No Goal Like A Fitness Goal"…read more This is my life motto after experiencing OBC for the past 2 months. Like a large percentage of 40+ year olds that totally committ themselves to a boot camp lifestyle, I understand that reaching fitness goals don't come as easy as it once did. At 41 and hearing a lot of horror stories of people my age and younger who are having heart attacks, suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, I decided it was time to set some serious fitness goals and committ myself to a totally fit lifestyle. OBC has given me a totally new perspective on reaching weight/fitness goals and has motivated me to reach for the sky. A combinination of committed and motivating fitness instructors and serious campers like myself converge at 5:30 am 4 days a week to motivate each other in fitness and in life. The progress that I have made from not being able to finish my first workout to improved time and reps in every aspect of the PT test are motivating contributors to getting up early in the morning and literally not missing a workout session. I must say that my decision to join OBC was the best decision that I have made in a while and certainly one of the most beneficial. I encourage everyone to make the committment.

I loved how the workout was setup. We did several rounds of exercises, which included two sets of each exercise for 45 seconds. In between each set, we did a variation of active recovery exercises. Afterwards, we stretched. Overall, I enjoyed my workout and plan to visit again in the future!

It was full body and cardio day which was perfect for me. I hadn't worked out in a while I needed to warm my body up. Jen at the front desk was super sweet. Upon checking in she greeted me , explained how Burn Boot Camp worked and gave me a welcome package. I thought the welcome package was a really nice touch, it came with lavender sea salt and a lavender bath towel. The camp itself was just what I needed. It was high intensity, motivating, and extremely supportive. There's a lot of "good jobs" and high-fives. The instructors will learn your name and push you when they know you have more to give. If you like that type of support you will really enjoy the culture at Burn Boot Camp. I signed up for the 21 day boot camp for $75. The regular monthly rate is $130. With both you have access to unlimited camps . Pro's: Burn offers morning camps 4:45am - 9:30am and evening 4:00pm- 8:00pm. They offer childcare . Instructors are encouraging and motivating . All fitness levels will enjoy the camps. No two classes are the same. Camps offered every hour. Affordable. Con's: None yet So far I'm happy here! I'll check back in at the end of my 21days.

This is one of my favorite workout spots. The coaches are high energy and encouraging, the…read moreequipment is well maintained, and they offer many convenient class times.

Orangetheory Fitness is a relatively new fitness gym that's spreading like orange wild fire. It…read morestarted in Florida and soon spread all over the US. All the gyms have an instructor. They guide you through a 1 hour workout session. It keeps you busy because they constantly change the exercise you're doing. So if you have ADHD or get bored easily, this is a great gym to try. They are called Orangetheory because of their theory of being in the orange zone. It's supposed to be backed by science, according to their web site. What is the orange zone? The orange zone is where your heart rate is at an optimal level. You're working hard, but not killing yourself Basically, it's circuit training combined with interval training. If you maintain your heart rate in the orange zone for a certain period of time, you burn a good amount of calories. Also, your metabolism is revved up all day. So you'll be burning more calories after your workout. That's their theory anyway. And they say they're backed by science! But who knows? It could be pure snake oil. Their web site was lacking in information. But I'm guessing it's based off of HIIT: high intensity interval training. When you join in, you sign your standard forms. They need some basic vitals information from you like your weight. Then they give you a heart monitor to monitor your heart rate during the workout. They have a screen with your name on it to show what zone you're in. You want to be in the green to orange zone most of the time. If you're in the blue zone, you're not working hard enough. If you're in the red zone, you're working too hard. It's a good way to monitor your effort. They have 2 sections during the workout, with each lasting about 30 minutes. They have a strength training section, which has some dumbbells and other stuff. It's supposed to work your muscles with various calisthenics and weights. Then they have the cardio section. It has a rowing machine and a treadmill. Every 6 or so minutes, you switch exercises. So they try to give you a good variety of workouts. Everything is orange inside, keeping the orange theme of its name. It made me want to eat a tangerine. Since it is an instructor based workout, the fees are on the high side. You're not gonna pay $40/month. It's more like $20/session. If you want to go 3x week, it can add up quick. They do have an unlimited package for around $150+/month. If you have money and fat to burn, this is a good place to do it. The staff at the Smyrna location was nice and helpful. Everything looked clean and new, since it just opened. They have private showers too. Yeah, you get a whole shower room by yourself. That is pretty cool. I went as a guest and enjoyed my workout. The instructor was upbeat and energetic. They play some loud music to pump you up and keep you energized. I got a pretty good workout. And I must have been burning a lot of calories that day since I was hungry all the time after the workout. If you want to get in shape, but get bored doing the same thing over and over, try Orangetheory fitness. Since the Smyrna location is new, it's popular. It's hard to get a spot. Even their early morning classes fill up fast. So if you want to try it, try booking early. And remember to bring lots of water and a towel. You're gonna need it.
