They completely messed up our party by not communicating to each other at all over a period of 2 months. They told me all the same things until the day of the party at which time, different staff said different things and they were prepared for less than half of the people we had coming! My guests and I were the ones that had to make all the adjustments (move 6 tables to another room, runout and get enough cupcakes) while kids ran around) . And instead of trying to help make up for the incompetence of the staff and their mistakes , they gave excuses and tried to fight me about what I had had requested. And then I was charged full price though me and my guests did most of the work. NEVER AGAIN. DO NOT HAVE YOUR PARTY HERE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Mixed feelings about this location. Family Friendly Overcrowded - Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings with family events. Not enough parking. Pool - small for the number of members. Classes - good and typically small. Hours short - coming from West Coast use to longer weekends. Great healthy choice on a weekend for families vs. glued to your phone or TV. read more

This is a really great gym in Bettendorf. They have lots of good equipment, free weights and my favorite... Group Fitness classes. They offer an extensive amount of Les Mills classes including Body Pump. The class schedule is on the we site and takes place upstairs. it is kind of a neat location in the middle of a running track. I've been going to the Bettendorf YMCA for about a month and a half in the early afternoons, and really enjoy it. The facilities are perfect for my interests and ability level. The staff has been generally friendly. The one point that breaks my heart is that although the Y opens several courts up to pickle ball games and lessons most weekday mornings, it's basically over by the time I arrive at the gym, so I can't learn to play. It looks really fun! read more

Horrible experience here. I called to pause my account and they said they would for $5 a month due to the coronavirus. I come back now to restart and they saying my bank canceled a payment. I was never notified and would be happy to pay the $5 a month. They now won't let me restart my membership without paying the entire next year upfront cash. Staff was rude about it and were not willing to help any other way. (I paid for 2 months while they were closed down as well before I went to pause my account). You would think the YMCA being built on Christian values would be able to work with people a little better. read more

Very affordable and for the Quad City offerings one of the best options, especially if you need a pool and basketball court space. If you need a high-end gym (state-of-the-art everything) this isn't probably the best fit. I have participated in both in other markets. read more

My own usage of this place is pretty narrow. I go there because we have a family membership (that we don't really use enough of), but I go there to 1. change into gym clothes, 2. go to the weight room and squat, bench, and deadlift (not very well), and 3. keep a bag of stuff in a cubby hole. So, bear that in mind. They also have on the upper floor a quarter-mile track. I used to use it before I had my kid when I had more than a half hour of spare time in a given, uh, week. It's nice. Most of what makes or breaks the quality of this place depends on the time of day, how busy it can get, so on. When we were trying to get my wife to go into labor we used that track at night, but kids, teenagers, and about 50 other people were using it took; really quite a challenge to not get run over. To me, they do a pretty good job with the weight room representing the major types of people that would use it. A lot of pulley machines, freeweights, and a few power racks. Only rarely have I not had immediate access to what I needed, and that was during what seemed to be offseason for high school football in the summer, for teenagers that aren't 32 and just trying not to hurt their knee squatting. They still need at least one more power rack, in my entirely biased opinion. I don't use a personal trainer because I'm cheap, but they seem to 1. be there, and 2. do well enough with people. There are child-care facilities for the adults to use, but we've never used them. If you're a woman, the Utica Ridge facility is probably a better option, and there's more space for you to work out with a room designed for you. If you're like me, just trying to find a power rack, it doesn't really matter, since you had access with your membership to any of the Y's in Scott County. This is closest to me, so I go here the most. read more

I love the pool and water classes. My main concern is that parents bring children, including school age boys into the adult women's locker room. This is done despite the fact that there are many family changing rooms and lockers available. The Y employees will not enforce the rules that the door signs state. I have tried! Perhaps a sign at the front desk that reminds parents of the family rooms? Weekends especially have boys and girls of many ages staring at the women trying to get on and out of swimsuits. It's okay, just wished they had a woman's fitness center there like the one on Utica Ridge road. Do like the pool though, although they should give out a detailed description of their classes they have like the Moline Y does. When I called & asked about one the man at the desk didn't seem to be too much informed about it. I had to stop going to the Bettendorf Family YMCA because different employees would tell me conflicting information when it comes to usage rules. The last time, after being there an hour with no problem a lifeguard came on duty and told me my daughters was allowed to swim in the adult pool, I asked why no other lifeguard had said anything prior and then pointed out the pool rules did not include her information. She told me the rule was not displayed. I talked to the manager at the front desk who provided me with conflicting information, then contradicted himself when I pointed out the lifeguards opposing view and saying no more walking to his office and closed the door. This encounter was not the first time, assuredly it was the last. I will stick with the North and West YMCAs that have wonderful facilities with courteous, professional and informed staff. read more
