I wish I could have zero stars. There are no doctors here, the person they have managing your medication is a physicians assistant, though they call him doctor, the therapist do not have any type of degree in psychological therapy, they are social workers. There is a psychiatrist listed, but you can't get an appointment with him and you can't speak to him. Came in struggling with a bunch of issues and was offered all kinds of procedures, one that was very expensive and had to be approved by insurance. I was charged $100 fee for dispute over not canceling an appointment within 24 hours, even though I have phone calls, voicemails and text confirming that I did do it in time. I asked them to return my money since it was a huge stress on my bank account not only did they refuse. No one would call me back after multiple requests and only respond to me via text. Please don't be fooled by these people. If you have serious behavioral health issues this is not the place to go. Case in point, they are more concerned about keeping the $100 then addressing or understanding the amount of stress and anxiety it caused me not to be able to pay my obligations. That's pure greed. I love Better Balance Psychiatry ! The staff is incredible, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. For years I've felt out of place never understanding why. I took the biggest leap of faith and met with Dr. Hendleman for an official diagnosis. Not only did he validate what I was feeling, he gave me a proper diagnosis and treatment that has made the biggest difference in my life. When we have a telehealth appointments he is the biggest supporter and if things aren't 100% he works with me to get me where I need to be. My husband goes to Dr. Hendleman and has also received the best care. Our marriage is better and our family is better because we both have proper treatments from this incredible psychiatrist if I could give Dr. Hendleman and his staff 15/5 stars I would. This was probably the worst experience I have had going to any mental health provider. I came in after my primary doctor wanted me to get a set diagnosis and help with medications. They got me in really quickly which was fantastic considering there are not many option in the St George area. Office is beautiful, big and bright. Very clean esthetic. Get taken back to my appointment pretty quickly and then it just goes down hill. Doctor introduces himself and lets me know he is newer and still "learning the ropes" of the office. We start talking and he seems really uninterested in what has brought me in and when I ask him a direct question "How does this work? Do we go through my history and what is going on to get a diagnosis?" He seriously replied "Oh, I don't believe in diagnosing people as it isn't helpful. I'm here to treat them. Have you considered TMS?" I let him know that I was currently doing Ketamine treatments and that would probably be the course I stay on and tried to discuss Esketamine or Spravato but he went right back to TMS and how many sessions, insurance coverage etc. I tried to direct it back to Ketamine and he told me it wasn't as effective or what they usually suggest which is great, but you don't even know my background because you are pushing TMS so hard. He left the office to discuss my situation with another doctor and came back and started pushing TMS AGAIN! Finally I said they could see if my insurance would cover it and I would need the time to consider it anyways. He was offering for me to start the next day. Fast forward to over a month later and I get a phone call to let me know my insurance approved TMS but I declined the treatment because I didn't want it. But, I got a sweet bill for almost $300 for them to try to push me into TMS. "We won't give you a diagnosis or even try, but give us all your money for TMS which is the only option and a cure all." I was fortunate to be referred to Better Balance Psychiatry late last year. I am bi-polar and have tried numerous drugs that were ineffective. While in a therapy session, I asked about the procedure TMS. I have been to numerous Psychiatrists over the years and have taken so many different medications to help me. Nothing has worked, until I started TMS. This treatment was never brought up or forced on me! I noticed results after my 3rd treatment, I feel so much better and life is good. My husband has also noticed the change, he has been with me throughout my mental illness journey. I can think more clearly, I am starting to get out and enjoy people again. I appreciate going outside and enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful foliage all around. It's been an amazing ride so far. I am halfway through my TMS treatment and I know it's only going to get better! The staff at Better Balance Psychiatry are wonderful! They really care about your wellbeing.
