I've maintained that reduced dose consistently for three or four years, and I feel like nobody took it seriously or respected it as my patient choice. Instead of treating it as a decision about my own care, I was accused of not being compliant, even though I was doing what I needed to do and still functioning well in public despite significant labeling and marginalization which I feel is done to put me into treatment. Eventually, I was dropped as a patient. When I tried to explain that I've done well on my reduced dosing level, they argued that it wasn't a DSM-5-recognized treatment amount. More recently, a non-psychiatric provider who works across both networks told me that if I left Utah for freedom, the charting about this medication dispute could follow me as would the heavy-handed treatment by physicians and social workers out-of-state. A different practitioner showed me my chart from them, and it did NOT include a statement of disagreement that they told me was added. What's really upsetting to me is the sense that psychiatry can still exert control through social, medical, and family connections--enough that it can lead to persistent marginalization in the community, even when my actual dosing level is far less than what they frame as a "standard" treatment needed to be a patient. A family member told me the clinic contacted him, and after that, my medication was put back to full strength again after out-of-state medical harassment by family and the system. I'm sharing this because it doesn't feel justified based on how little I take, and it doesn't feel like my choices were treated as legitimat

There is a psychiatrist listed, but you can't get an appointment with him and you can't speak to him. Came in struggling with a bunch of issues and was offered all kinds of procedures, one that was very expensive and had to be approved by insurance. I was charged $100 fee for dispute over not canceling an appointment within 24 hours, even though I have phone calls, voicemails and text confirming that I did do it in time. I asked them to return my money since it was a huge stress on my bank account not only did they refuse. No one would call me back after multiple requests and only respond to me via text. Please don't be fooled by these people. If you have serious behavioral health issues this is not the place to go. Case in point, they are more concerned about keeping the $100 then addressing or understanding the amount of stress and anxiety it caused me not to be able to pay my obligations. That's pure greed. What type of support is this for someone who came to them truly struggling and looking for help?
