Absolutely beautiful area and well worth the visit…read more We took a drive out to Conway yesterday. It's truly an Americana town with so much history dating as far back to the 1732 British settlement. We took a lovely stroll on the Riverwalk and soaked in the scenery. Saw many different types of boats coming thru on the water as the trailhead is right there. Boaters can even dock, do lunch or simply just walk around town. Few people were fishing, and many families were enjoying the fully fenced in playground. A local hot spot right on the edge of the riverwalk is a place called Chanti's Pizza, it's a popular local restaurant that caters to many homeowners, as well as great reviews by numerous visitors that come to town too! Would be a perfect place to dine if spending some time here and wanting to have lunch or dinner on the water. It's truly an iconic boardwalk trail (approximately 1.5-mile of a scenic pathway) along Waccamaw River that goes under the US-501 bridge and over some extremely old railroad tracks. Stunning views of the river and an abundance of Spanish moss draping the trees. Definitely a must do if you are near this community or while traveling on vacation just as we were.

Highly recommend adding Conway downtown and the riverwalk to your local holiday sightseeing…read moreentertainment after sunset. Some light exhibitions have music to add to the ambiance. There's plenty of parking on the side streets and parking lot. Check out the official Conway town website for the most updated information of events starting in December - tree lighting, caroling, shows in the theater. 20-30 minutes from Myrtle Beach. Best of all, it's free. In October, definitely come back for the Halloween town when the trees are decorated with hanging pumpkins and there are spooky displays everywhere. The calendar features events like movie nights, food trucks, and the scare factory.

Note this review goes from 5-3 Stars. Went here on Thursday…read moreOctober 2nd 2025 with my parents to update our driver licenses and register and obtain South Carolina plates for our cars. Cars are considered property in South Carolina, so it is essential to go to the Assessors office first before coming here. That way the car taxes are paid for. What also helped was that we prefilled the application online for our items before we came here. parked, went inside, and was immediately greeted by a person who gave us a number based upon how many items we had to do. She also handed us the paperwork, in which we already filled out prior and online. That person was pleasant. Then, we didn't even wait that long until our number was called up. It was almost immediately. The next person that helped us was very pleasant, and beared with us since we had lots of paperwork. She did all the car licenses first, and we all chose which one we wanted- a white with an american flag, or a blue with the palmetto tree. We went with 3 palmetto ones, and 2 american flag ones. We also did the vision test for the licenses. as well as all the license paperwork. The person who took care of us here was very pleasant, and explained things. Only con is I had trouble understanding the person sometimes, but was able to understand because my parents were there too. 5 stars for her. Next came the time to take the photo- 3 stars for this procedure. The person taking the photo was a red curly haired female. Now I don't know if there are certain procedures one has to do to be able to keep my glasses on-- however, the person told me that I immediately had to remove my glasses. I visibily got upset, and started to have my eye slightly cross, just as she took the photo. I asked to retake it, and then asked why I can't have my glasses on, she said it is due to glare. Retook the photo and at least i was smiling, but I don't like the photo at all and it doesn't represent me. I look different without my glasses. Now, I got a photo, not satisfied with it, but I don't understand why I can't wear my glasses- I wear mine for medical reasons, and one of those reasons is because my eye crosses. Also, my glasses are also prescription based. Also, I look like a different person without my glasses. Also my glasses never leave my head day or night until i go to bed. Also to add, and they had my New York License right in front of them, they saw that I wore glasses in my last photo. Again, maybe I have to prove that I medically need glasses, and didn't know that- but based upon observations- I think they should have allowed me to wear my glasses. After all, I need them medically to see. To add, I also use my license as an ID, so everytime I get alcohol at a restaurant or store- they would have to see something that is not me at all, and embarrassing in a sense. Isn't a picture that represents a person to the best of their ability a better deal? Putting it this way, If I'm not wearing my glasses when I'm driving that means i could be drunk. I wear my glasses all day and night, removing them before going to bed. I don't like the way I was treated in regards to that- and Wish I could just retake a photo with my glasses on like it was on my NY license. I recommend the staff here, but don't recommend the license photo procedure. Medical condtions should be respected, even if there is no proof. And Especially if there's a picture with glasses in front of someone, especially if one doesn't know-- maybe respect their decision on wearing glasses, and improve by either allowing the camera to have glare and edit it, or have the camera farther away from the person so there is less glare, and the person can keep their glasses on. Some really need their glasses to see. oh and used the restroom too- single stall but was clean. Edited 10/15: I also did submit a complaint using the paperwork- and the manager got back to me, but basically he said that Sure, I can come back and apply again for the license when I get mine, but Can't guarantee that I would be able to take a photo with glasses. Some feedback is to perhaps have a camera that can reduce glare, or have a camera on a wall at a far enough distance where wearing glasses or not shouldn't matter. Also if the government requires rules about this, it should be posted inside the DMV. 5 stars for the communication tho. Edit 10/18: Just received my license in the mail, which was stated to get in 2 weeks. 5 stars for receiving it on time, especially that my dad was going to get on a plane and needed his license to fly.
