This library is clean and extremely spacious with lots of tables and seating that have outlets connected to the tables. When I go to libraries I usually go to get work done so I can't say much when it comes to the book selection if you are looking for a library as a reader. Lot of natural lighting since there's quite a few floor to ceiling windows. Would say it gives off similar vibes to Arlington Public Library - George W. Hawkes Downtown Library but smaller since it is one story. The children's area is large so it's a great place for parents to bring their kids here. In addition, the library is quiet although there is seems to be a lot of people from the parking lot. Since the floor is so large, you can find a secluded corner to get work done or just relax and read. As for parking there is plenty of space. First time here and would come back time and tire again.

It's been awhile since my last review of the SE Library, so it's time to update my review. But,…read moreagain, full disclosure, as it's a library, it gets five stars. Unless, the employees are mean, all libraries get five stars. So, with that understanding, on to the review! The building, inside and out, is nice, but it is definitely small, when compared to most other area library at least. The downside to the size of this library is that it is hard to find a spot to actually read because this is a rather popular library. Realistically though, you can just take your books home, if there really is not a place to sit and read. But, if you're looking to study, you may want to call ahead to see if they have some kind of study space available or to at least get a feeling for how busy they are that day. And, speaking of studying, this library also has computer stations available. You have to sign up, but it's a pretty quick process. And, along with the size comes a reduced selection as the book selection is not extensive. But, you do not have to worry about wasting your time looking for a particular book because they have an online catalog. However, they do have a rather extensive collection of DVDs, with a few Blu-Rays thrown in as well. Again, if you're looking for something specific, you should call ahead or check out their online catalog. The children's section is separated from the rest of the library, and it even has its own separate computer stations available, just for the kids. I appreciate this type of firewall because it keeps the kids out of my area. And, the staff there is always watching, so you can feel safe taking your kids here. As for the staff, they are warm and courteous. If you need help, they will do whatever they can to make sure you get what you need. And, of course, as with any library, they have community boards (near the front doors) that advertise groups, story times, community events, and the like. It's a quick way to get the rundown on what's going on in our community, and some of the groups are interesting. All in all, I recommend this library if you're in the area. Of course, if you're not, check out YOUR local library. I'm sure it's cool too.

It's a great place to visit on sunday or during the week and summer break for your kids,lots things to see and experience from live action chess, an event area that is used for showers , birthdays, weddings meetings they rent this area starting at 75.00 hr ., it even has a prep area to prepare your outside catering. I can't say enough about this place . lots of individual computers to use and a business center print, copy , fax which is cheaper than office depot and other copy stores, they offer a summer reading program, live readings, live concerts , dance classes for adults . outside area is simply amazing can use as picnic area lots of stores in area boutiques, ramen noodles, cookie shop close by. I give this place a 100. staff very nice and helpful. I could go on and on .

I work from home so anyplace with a cozy seat and free wifi is a good place for me. This library is multi-level with plenty of seating. Computers, printers, resources, tons of community programs and classes. They provide shelter in extreme weather. They provide food for hungry families. I recently learned they have a retro technology lab, so I'm interested in digitizing some old home videos. Being able to do something like that for free is an amazing privilege. Libraries are so important in our communities. Education, support, shelter, resources for all, and especially for those who need it. Support your local library!

A Christmas tree made of books. Yes, I did say books! It was truly a moment of whimsy and warmth. Comfortable furniture with enough space that many different people could feel secure and comfortable while visiting, reading, or working. And the staff was truly kind. They smiled at everyone who entered and engaged with us in a way that made you feel seen. Now, for the part that touched my heart the most... people between homes gathered in this beautiful library. Respectfully, humbly, and with ease. Everyone in the building felt like they belonged. Everyone felt comfortable. We all felt each other's presence and it was an easy presence.

Oh, the hours I have spent in this library. Some good, some bad…read more For students, this is the primary space to find a guaranteed quiet space for work, to print using your MavID, where to go to utilize the FabLab, or to get Einstein Bagels. The basement is a more open student area, with vending machines. Additionally, if you walk down there and immediately look to your left, you should see exercise bikes and treadmills fitted with surfaces to read or study while working out. There are only a couple, so they are first come, first serve. The 6th floor is a big open space with very little furniture, and offices. Great view from the window, however. The other floors are a mix of "quiet floors" and study floors, and the legend on each floor should tell you. The majority of the students hang on floor 2, which is not a quiet floor, but offers the freedom to talk, numerous desktop computers that can be utilized logging in with your MyMav credentials and a tutoring station. Additionally, if you are looking for a small convenience store, this is your spot. Nearly every floor has study rooms that require a reservation. This is the biggest downside - you have to scan the QR code, or type the website, and when you do, you will notice that most rooms are reserved for months out. If you want to reserve a room (particularly one for midterms or finals) I suggest exploring your options by the 3rd week of the semester. The library is 24 hours (with a few exceptions), but if you are a guest (not a student, or a student that does not have a UTA ID) then you will be asked to leave at midnight when UTA Police come around for ID check. From what I have been told, this is due to a previous issue with homeless people sleeping in the library. If you wish to take advantage of the library, but you are not a student, a drivers license will grant you access at the front desk, and the second floor has a guest computer that you can login to. If you can, check out the trees directly in front of the library during the holiday season - the trees are decorated with UTA blue and orange lights. Happy studying!

Inside, floor to ceiling windows look out onto a little lake--what an inviting place to curl up with a book! Staff is also topnotch. They're very friendly and helpful, and many know me by name. I'm always sad when the city rotates the librarians to other outposts, because it's like losing a friend. Negatives? The heat/ac can be really wonky. I hate to see the staff shivering or sweating. I didn't make it past the front desk....and this is my review of my experience…read more The front desk clerk (I'm talking to you, Mrs. Yellow shirted, "I Love My Library Card" lady) was the most emotionless, bored, uninterested, monotonous, person I have ever seen as a customer service public servant. She offered no greeting, but did ask if she could help me. What I needed help with required a manager and she was more than eager to get one for me. While I waited for the manager, she made eye contact once, while continuously scanning what was going on behind me and continued with small talk about the weather. I asked if she was a volunteer, to which she answered directly, "Nope". I then asked how long she had been working at the library....her response? "27 years". Good. Lawd. She needed to obviously retire. She showed no excitement or interest in her job. Even Richard Simmons would have gotten depressed.

Went here today to get a new library card and check out a book. As I stepped in I instantly felt…read morewelcomed and relaxed. I went to the first counter and told the lady that I was there for a new library card and she asked me for my id or something with my address on it. I told her that I had a picture of an envelope with my name on it and she said unfortunately they could not accept this. She was so nice about it and told me that they are open until 9pm. I was able to find something with my address on it and I returned. I was able to get my library card and I went to the information desk and asked if they had the books on my list. Both of the ladies behind the counter were so nice and helpful. Unfortunately none of the books I wanted were available, but they were at other locations. The awesome ladies recommended a few, but I had either read them or they were not available. I ended up checking out their rows and rows of non fiction and fiction books. I finally decided on a Liane Moriarity book. I told the ladies what I decided and they were so nice and supportive about my choice. I used their self check out, which I love and checked out their community wall. They have tons of activities and events going on at the library and online. With your library card you can get tons of free e-books.
