I really appreciate that because our trip to the library is usually hurried and we need to find good books fast. The librarians always help us find the books we are looking for. Don't miss out on their app, Cloud Library, that lets you borrow e-books and audio books. We use the self-checkout every time and it's really fast and easy. You can even scan your library card barcode on the library app. The library also has a number of private rooms you can borrow.

A Christmas tree made of books. Yes, I did say books! It was truly a moment of whimsy and warmth. Comfortable furniture with enough space that many different people could feel secure and comfortable while visiting, reading, or working. And the staff was truly kind. They smiled at everyone who entered and engaged with us in a way that made you feel seen. Now, for the part that touched my heart the most... people between homes gathered in this beautiful library. Respectfully, humbly, and with ease. Everyone in the building felt like they belonged. Everyone felt comfortable. We all felt each other's presence and it was an easy presence.

I like that the holds are right inside the front door and that you can do self-checkout. I haven't had the time to do any of the many activities or book clubs but I enjoyed participating in the 2024 adult reading challenge. They had interesting and diverse reading recommendation lists for the prompts and I got to read some wonderful books that I would not have otherwise read.

This branch is about to go through some renovations (as of 3/19/2024) there is a lot of tarping around the entrance, not really sure what is planned. The have the holds right up front, and the check out machines are a bit more modern than in SF. They have several small meeting rooms that are first come first serve. On some nights they are open until 9pm. The hold shelf is only valid for 1 week, not 10 days like SF, and I believe there will be late fees, but I haven't experienced them yet. The website is a little wonky, why can't libraries figure this out? - ahh... non-profits, gotta love 'em!

I didn't make it past the front desk....and this is my review of my experience…read more The front desk clerk (I'm talking to you, Mrs. Yellow shirted, "I Love My Library Card" lady) was the most emotionless, bored, uninterested, monotonous, person I have ever seen as a customer service public servant. She offered no greeting, but did ask if she could help me. What I needed help with required a manager and she was more than eager to get one for me. While I waited for the manager, she made eye contact once, while continuously scanning what was going on behind me and continued with small talk about the weather. I asked if she was a volunteer, to which she answered directly, "Nope". I then asked how long she had been working at the library....her response? "27 years". Good. Lawd. She needed to obviously retire. She showed no excitement or interest in her job. Even Richard Simmons would have gotten depressed.

I had no idea the classes/programs they offer for free for toddlers Monday thru Thursday! All the classes are in the morning and are interactive. On Friday, there are no classes but the children's area always has a variety of toys out so I was able to take her there to play. They change the toys out daily so it always seems like something new. If you need to wear out a toddler so they're ready to eat and take a nap, this is the place to go! I'm so appreciative of the Euless Library!

What could be better? Well I will tell you, they also have a genealogy center. Do you need a quiet room for a zoom? They've got you covered. Need to borrow a computer and print out your resume? Got it. They even have a wall dedicated to job hunters, with flyers showing you local businesses who are hiring. But it is not just books, they have the STRANGEST collection of things you can check out. For example, bongos. Yes bongos. Also metal detectors and sewing machines. New to the area and would like to meet people and learn to play mahjong? I believe that is on Thursdays. This is also where I come to perform my civic duty and vote on all things from school boards to presidents. Libraries are an important community resource and their value is immeasurable. They are the original search engines. An entre building offering knowledge, entertainment, and resources. You can do a great service to your community just by signing up for a library card.

We all went to the children's area and there was a homeless man mumbling gibberish and conspiracy theories the entire time sitting and using the children's computer. Oh, the hours I have spent in this library. Some good, some bad…read more For students, this is the primary space to find a guaranteed quiet space for work, to print using your MavID, where to go to utilize the FabLab, or to get Einstein Bagels. The basement is a more open student area, with vending machines. Additionally, if you walk down there and immediately look to your left, you should see exercise bikes and treadmills fitted with surfaces to read or study while working out. There are only a couple, so they are first come, first serve. The 6th floor is a big open space with very little furniture, and offices. Great view from the window, however. The other floors are a mix of "quiet floors" and study floors, and the legend on each floor should tell you. The majority of the students hang on floor 2, which is not a quiet floor, but offers the freedom to talk, numerous desktop computers that can be utilized logging in with your MyMav credentials and a tutoring station. Additionally, if you are looking for a small convenience store, this is your spot. Nearly every floor has study rooms that require a reservation. This is the biggest downside - you have to scan the QR code, or type the website, and when you do, you will notice that most rooms are reserved for months out. If you want to reserve a room (particularly one for midterms or finals) I suggest exploring your options by the 3rd week of the semester. The library is 24 hours (with a few exceptions), but if you are a guest (not a student, or a student that does not have a UTA ID) then you will be asked to leave at midnight when UTA Police come around for ID check. From what I have been told, this is due to a previous issue with homeless people sleeping in the library. If you wish to take advantage of the library, but you are not a student, a drivers license will grant you access at the front desk, and the second floor has a guest computer that you can login to. If you can, check out the trees directly in front of the library during the holiday season - the trees are decorated with UTA blue and orange lights. Happy studying!
