What I thought was immature or undertrained staff is actually the product of a toxic, shameful and unacceptable culture. Saturday, I stopped by for something cute for a dinner date. No one greeted me or asked to help. I walked around with an arm-full of clothes... no assistance. I asked for a fitting room. Someone sorta pointed. While dressing I heard the staff GLEEFULLY welcome other patrons and offer to assist if needed. Interesting. There were only about 4 shoppers present. I was the youngest and only nonwhite person. When I stepped out of the dressing room, a staff member behind the desk merely stared at me. She didn't ask me if I liked anything, needed anything, wanted anything... total disregard. I had my teen daughters with me and for the first time was embarrassed for trying to fit into a place that obviously doesn't want me there. I will spend my money where I'm treated kindly.

I was told this shop was the best place to get shoes refreshed. When I picked up my six shoes, the leather uppers were scuffed, there was glue on the leather, the new rubber soles had residual glue not wiped off, and had been cut a little too much. I took them back and waited in the lobby for them. I imagine whoever worked on them was in a rush, tired or blind because the shoes came back looking pretty much the same. I didn't bother asking to finish the shoe as it was already pointless with my two attempts at getting the shoes decent. I would never recommend this place to anyone if you have a pair of shoes you really love. Terrible experience. I do not recommend.

I've actually bought T-shirts there for myself, my dad, and my husband. The price point is high, but is reasonable for what they carry. It's more expensive than most department store clothes, but more unique styles and brands. Everything is the same price that you would find it in any other store that carries those brands. What I like best about The Locker Room is (1) their helpful staff, and (2) their sales and coupons. I would highly suggest joining their mailing list, especially if, like us, you live out of town but come to AU frequently to visit family or go to games. My husband and I frequently get notices about upcoming sales. When I went in this past weekend, they were having a great sale where everything in the store was at least 15% off, but lots of stuff was 35-50% off. We've also gotten a lot of coupons for something like $50 off $125 purchases. Not bad at all! I'm sure that my husband will continue to shop here and that I will continue to shop for him.
