Came in on a Wednesday looking for a tailor and a suit! Luckily I found Sabrina!…read more I hate trying on clothes and I want everything to be easy. To be honest I don't like shopping for long periods of time online or in person. Sabrina was super patient and explained everything very well and made me feel super comfortable. I ended up with tailored jacket, tailored pants and Italian style shirt. Everything I get from here I always get compliments. Even if I move out of the Bronx Porta Bella is my go to spot. They have amazing shoes no matter what style you will find it here. Affordable and reliable. Disclaimer: this is not in the best of neighborhoods but it is a gem. Right off 4 train on Jerome ave.

As soon as I clear the assignments to open a new areas, I'm hopping straight over to the clothing store like Binco or Didiersachs to cop somehing fashionable to murder people in. Well this is how I felt today at Porta Bella in the Bronx, sans the need to murder someone afterward. Walking into the store was purely a sidetrack to my real mission of locating some grey Timberlands in some of the shoe stores along East Fordham. I was my first time shopping on East Fordham, although I'd been down the block numerous times to attend graduations at Fordham or visit friends in the area. Shopping on East Fordam makes you feel as though you belong in the Bronx, and having been a resident of the Boogie Down for a year now, it was about time. The store has the usual men's fare. I'd like to emphasize the "men's" here as opposed to "boy". There are very few occasions where I need to look as though I'm going to a hip-hop or rock concert or sporting event. And those occasions are where I'm going to a hip-hop or rock concert or sporting event. Otherwise, I were the shirt and tie to work, even though it isn't a mandatory state of dress to teach. It does illustrate something for my students though. And I'm a bit more conscious about what I eat these days, so saggy jeans, jersey's and sneakers would stand out in most places where I dine. The prices are competitive. Mine you that I'm aware they hype the price up to lower the price, but hit the sales and sale rack and you're golden. Who pays full price for stuff manufactured in China these days anyway? There was a guy who asked whether I needed help, and then backed off immediately when I replied that I was "just browsing". I love that he wasn't pushy, and that he didn't feel the need for unsolicited suggestions. And he was prompt to assist me when I had made a couple selections that were on sale. And yes, when I walked out of the dressing room to look in the mirror, I did the little CJ swivel and hunch when I found what I wanted. Oh! And they have Kangol hats. Very important.

However, while walking through the show room is a little messy, especially towards the back. And there are never enough sizes under 22 on the rack. Additionally, this story does stock enough work wearing items- I have seen more at other locations. The staff are pretty nice and while they don't hunt you down to help, they will help if asked. If any of them are at the front or close to the front they do acknowledge the customer when he or she enters.

I wanted to simply exchange them. And sending them back would require paying shipping and handling. I read the return policy and I could do it in-store. I told the store manager, a black man with glasses that I wanted to do an even exchange, just change sizes. He then proceeded to scold me on how they have a no return, no exhange on intimates. Ummm what?? No where does it state that. I read their return policy thoroughly I tried explaining but he was just pissy and kept reiterating that they do not take panties back but that he would make an exception. Yea right, you'll do it because it's not a damn policy!! He took a good solid 7mins inputting god knows what on this transaction. He was just rude. Learn your policies and take a refresher on good customer service standards.

DO NOT SHOP HERE! Like many other reviewers, we had a very…read morebad experience here. They were all friendly when they took my money (approx $160) a suit for my son for a wedding we have to attend. We were in a bit of a rush, so I did not examine the suit front to back. The lady pinned the pants for us where we should hem them at home. She had the pants and jacket in her arms bunched up as she placed the jacket & pants on the hanger. The guy at the counter put it in a bag & tied the bottom of the plastic bag and then brought the bottom up to tie around the top. The suit never left the bag until the next day when I was about to hem the pants. As soon as I opened the bag & took the suit out, I noticed there was a pull in the material of the jacket. I figured it was the pin that was sticking out of the bottom of the pants that caused the pull in the jacket. Maybe it happened when it was folded in the bag, when it was in the lady's arms, or maybe it was there to begin with & we didn't notice it because we were in a rush. The material was very thin & cheap, so it was definitely possible. We had zero time but had to go back to either get an exchange or at least store credit as the policy is stated on their receipt. The "nice & pleasant" man was an enormous jerk. He refused to honor his own policy which stated exchange or store credit with receipt as long as it has not been worn. The suit was not worn. The only time it was on my child was at the store. Every single tag was still in tack as well as the pin they put in the pants. He refused to listen, refused to help us, and was telling us it was impossible to be from the pin. First, he said he couldn't even see the pull and then he told us it was our fault that we didn't see it if it was in the store. He was rude, dismissive, and raised his voice to us. I was on the phone while my husband went in & he was literally yelling over me so he couldn't hear me. He was telling us to take a pin & damage the suit so he can prove a pin wouldn't tear the material. Neither of us were willing to damage his merchandise. But of course, he was telling us to do it to a better-quality suit, not the cheap material one we bought. What an unprofessional man!! After A LOT of yelling back & forth and letting him know that we would be taking him to small claims court he agreed (reluctantly) to exchange the suit. He didn't have the same suit in stock, so I ended up with one that is a bigger size and will not fit my son. But he made sure to take my receipt so he could send it to the company with the damaged suit. So, it will probably not cost him a thing. He was unbelievably unprofessional. Who does business like this? Who doesn't honor their own policy and blames the customer. This is no way to do business, and I will NEVER shop at this store ever again. I still needed a suit for him, so I ended up going to Burlington & had to spend another $100 for another suit. And this one is MUCH better quality than Fino's cheap material.

At that time Mr Africa had my boyfriend try on several suits.Until we found one that fit,he tried to give us pants that didn't come with the suit. I told him no give us the pants that came with the suit..he gave in and did just that. He stated that the suit was more expensive then the one we purchased. I said that I didn't care.He hem the pants himself and steamed the suit ...the basement looked like Rodents would kill you if you entered there home. I told them cov didn't teach them anything, about be cleaning up and that it was a hazard to be around those conditions.
