C&M does not get credit what we've achieved Our experience with this contractor was completely unacceptable THEY ARE NOT CUSTOM BUILDERS we pacifically asked for reinforced concrete for a car lift in the garage, which was on the blueprints. two months later they brought up that they FORGOT to add it. The project began with a signed contract that specified a monolithic poured foundation, yet somewhere along the way that was changed to a block foundation without our consent . A change of that magnitude should never happen without clear communication, written approval, and full transparency. Instead, the work no longer matched the agreement I originally signed, and no proper explanation or accountability was provided. Once the contract was signed, it was like a completely different ball game. Communication deteriorated significantly, follow-through became inconsistent, and getting straight answers became increasingly difficult. It quickly felt like the level of attention and professionalism that existed prior to signing simply disappeared. There is no professional designer involved. They add whatever is cheapest on their end. The construction manager is very unprofessional and if anything comes up he throws an attitude and will not correct whatever got addressed. Once that last draw was made they deny any responsibility in fixing anything still not fully resolved. The most frustrating part was that the two owners were essentially nonexistent throughout the process. Attempts to get clarity or escalation were met with silence or were passed off, leaving no real leadership or accountability when issues arose. Calls, texts, and emails often went unanswered, and important decisions appeared to be made without proper communication or client involvement. A contract is a binding agreement, not a suggestion. When major aspects of a project are changed without proper authorization and communication breaks down entirely, it raises serious concerns about integrity, reliability, and respect for the customer. What should have been a straightforward construction project turned into a stressful and frustrating experience filled with uncertainty and lack of trust. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this contractor to demand everything in writing, verify all changes, and ensure there is clear accountability before proceeding. It's been the worse experience of building our dream home but unfortunately we wanted the land that came with it. C&M is NOT what it was built from years ago. New owners(that have absolutely no construction skills ) took over and ruined everything Stonecipher had worked for. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME Company anymore. First off final price came in $300 under bid, we had all decking replaced new Owen's Corning shingles, ice shield, vapor barrier, vent covers and flashing, this was a complete tear off and replacement. This was a stressful situation for us as it's our home and we want it done right we had a total of 4 bids before I committed to a contractor, this is a professional company. Showed up with 9 guys, and 2 lift trailers and got right to work at 7am, we were concerned about them getting done in one day but he showed up with the manpower to get it done. By 3 pm old roof was torn off and new roof on just had to finish flashing and tidy up the yard. I think very highly of this company, they know they are dealing with stressed out customers worrying about the large expense of a new roof. Again bid came in slightly below initial bid but since there was some plywood and other materials left over cost was slightly less, he could have charged me I probably would have never noticed.
