I took my Husqvarna weedwacker to Bid's for a tune up, leaving it with them on 4/17/24. I was told it would be ready by 5/1/24. I called them on 5/1 since it was supposed to be ready but was told they were waiting on a part. I called again on 5/2 inquiring about my weedwacker, the person I spoke with on the phone told me the part came in last night and they should start working on it soon. I called the next day 5/3 and was told the same thing, the part just came in but it should be ready today (5/3). No phone call update on 5/3, no update on 5/4 even though they are apparently open on Saturday. I figured I would give them time to square themselves away and stopped in on my way home from work on 5/9 expecting to get my weedwacker and got the same runaround, the part just came in. Apparently they didn't know a carburetor was back ordered which I find hard to believe because whenever I have tried to order ANYTHING it will tell you if something is available or on backorder. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is my first experience with this repair shop and it will be my last. I won't recommend them to friends or family either. read more

I have been coming here for about 10 plus years and never had a problem. Normally I get my chainsaw blades sharpened. Only 10$ for that service. I also brought in a chainsaw from a competitor and they even helped me solve the problem I had with the blade. No charge. Their prices are competitive don't really see many sales, with the exception of the used lawn mower they sell. One thing that you must know is that if you have a older yard machine that needs a fix, they do sell used parts for half off of original new price. i will never give this business another dime for anything, i bought a brand new toro mower from them, they gased it up for me. i got it home to cut the grass, and it didn't run more than 20 minutes, before sputtering out, took it back, and was told there was forien material in the fuel system, they would never live up to the fact that they were the only ones that put any fuel in it. they are not at all customer service inclined. go to hellebycks instead, and save yourself the agrevation. read more

When I brought my mower in, they looked at it and without even asking what was wrong with it, said it was going to be at least $140 to repair my mower and it would be a better investment to purchase one of their mowers. They never tried to start it, didn't ask me for any information. Basically, they told me that because I bought it at Home Depot and spent less than $200 on my mower, that I was lucky to get two years out of it and I should plan on spending that much every year if I didn't buy one of their lawn mowers. At this point, I may get a new lawn mower, and I may have to spend $400 on it, but with their dismissive attitude toward repair and their commission-based approach to customer service makes me want to purchase a new mower anywhere but at Bid's. Edit: I have since purchased a can of carb cleaner for $3.70, took the carb apart, cleaned it and the fuel lines, and I've just finished mowing my lawn. I was willing to pay a bit more for someone else to do that since I've never repaired a lawn mower before, but I am happy they saved me a bunch of money. read more

I took my riding lawn mower in for service and I experienced the worst service ever. I asked them to change three belts, sharpen the blades and replace the springs on the deck. I got a call after two weeks, which was suppose to be done in one week, telling me it was ready. They gave me an estimate of $295.00 and they said they would call if it was going to be anything more than that. They left a message on my voicemail stating the total was going to be $354.00 I was surprised because they quoted me $295.00. I was ok with that as long as everything I asked for was properly fixed. They let me load up the riding lawn mower in my trailer and I looked in the old parts bag and noticed there was only one belt. I went back into the shop and asked where the other two belts were? I talked to Pat and questioned him on where the other parts were. He returned ten minutes later and said the manager will be right with you. The manager, Ryan, returned and said there was a misunderstanding, that he told his tech to change all three belts but he didn't. The tech stated that the other two belts were fine and did not need to be replaced. I was surprised that they charged me for services and labor that I did not receive. The manager did refund me $121.00 after I questioned them. Do not go here if you expect good service and honest people. read more

I took my snowblower in to be serviced because the choke lever was loose. They stareted the snowblower up and it ran fine. I week or so later they call and said a screw must have fallen into the motor. Another week went by and we called and they said the engine wasn't running right that a screw must have fallen into the motor and the offered to give us $40.00 towards a new snowblower. So now I have a broken snowblower that ran fine when I brought it in to BID's and will have to spend at least $500.00 for a new one. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO BID'S TO GET FIXED!!! Received a call from Bid's on April 25th that carburetor which was special ordered, was in. Went to pick up part that evening. After standing in line for 30 minutes, was told it wasn't there, had not been ordered. Called on the 26th, was told it was there. Again they said it wasn't. On the 27th talked to Stephanie who said it was definitely there and didn't understand why the service guys kept saying that it wasn't there. Went that evening to pick it up and sure enough it was right where she said it was. Thank goodness someone there knows what is going on. Will never deal with Bid's again. read more

Overall bad. In the spring, I brought our Bolens rider in for complete go through for the season to include dead battery, they replaced battery. Total: $370+. Had to take it back for no start within 2 weeks. They said it was carb problem and fixed it , but they had my machine for nearly 2 weeks. Brought it back twice more for no start, the second time they claimed to have replaced the battery, but I have my doubts. After 1 cut- dead again. Oh and each additional time they had the machine for nearly 2 weeks, and were non-responsive to my request for a rush- I figured they would want to try and get it back fast. As it is they had it longer this cutting season than we did! Good thing we have a push mower for back up, my guys got a hell of a workout on 2 acres. I will never go back to Bids, and I now strongly recommend any one wanting their equipment serviced properly take it elswhere! read more

I brought my Lawnmower in for service on May 9th. The reason for service was to replace the battery and recoil. I was told it should take 4-5 days. On May 22nd after almost two weeks of hearing nothing I called. The person I talked to on the phone when i stated it had been waitinng since May 9th only said oh 5#!t. I picked up the lawnmower on the 23rd, when I arrived home I started the lawnmower and tried to engage the self propel, it was BROKE, I also attempted to adjust the speed , the lever would not move and the tension bar was flexing to the right. I immediately took it back, because it was Saturday of a Holiday weekend and I was hoping it would be a quick fix for free. The gentleman at the counter wrote up the order but gave me no paper work and didn't state if there would be a charge or not . After not hearing anything again for over a week I called on June 1st and was told it was ready to be picked up, Again no follow up call and no statement of what was owed, if anything. I arrived on the afternoon of the 2nd and was told that the charge would be $51.95. I asked for what, the lawnmower did not have the issue when I brought it in on the 9th. The counter person went in the back and brought out the manager /owner. This gentleman( I used the term loosely) had 0 customer service skills. he basically demanded that I pay him for the service that was provided. Even though the lawnmower did not have this issue when I brought it in for service. I felt I should not have to pay. He took me outside to prove it was working correctly. i told him I would pay him, but I would never bring the lawnmower here for service again or buy another lawnmower from this store again. The lawnmower was originally purchased at Bid's in 2005 for $769. He asked me if he didn't charge me would I purchase another mower from him or get service here again and i said no. His reply was "then let's go back inside and cash you out. If I could qive less than one star I would. I believe this is the result of second generation families owning small business and not understanding what there parents and grandparents have built. read more
