I had a decently good experience with this company. There were a few odds and ends that left me…read morestressed at the last minute, but it was all handled. So walking through the process. I read reviews online, filled out an online request for an estimate and someone called me within half an hour to schedule an estimate. The person who came out was Stewart - a very laid back and experienced project manager. He took his time, inspected my property, measured and showed me examples, as well as, explained the process thoroughly when I asked a million questions. He didn't have a sales pitch, it was just a conversation. I was then invited to explore the showroom and scheduled a time. It was very impressive and Stewart was very patient as I choose my plans and materials. Despite it being the highest estimate I received, I received a 10% discount for committing and felt like I trusted them the most and decided to move forward. I had to put 1/3 of the final project cost down for payment and was told they would contact me in 4-6 to schedule the job. This is where the stress came in.. I checked my email approximately 2 minutes before there was a ring at my door. I was being informed that my project was tomorrow and where should they drop off the materials?! I was shocked and overwhelmed, feeling like we were not prepared properly. I later talked to the office scheduler who said she sent an email the week prior, but for some reason I did not see or receive it. Even if I had gotten it, I'm not sure how flexible they would have been with it. Besides having to scramble to get the rest of the payment ready and shuffle around my work schedule for the next day, I also felt like we did not finalize the design, which is crazy because they had already delivered the materials. With a day full of meetings the first day of instillation I felt very anxious that I wouldn't be available enough to meet with the workers. As a result, Stewart did come out the night before and help lay out the design. As I feared, we had different ideas about what the final product was going to look like. I wish they had come out again to determine that, as the only time anyone was on my property was for the estimate and at that point there is only so much attention to detail. I was assured that person in charge of the install would be very accommodating. So we are at the morning of - the workers arrive and ring the bell. My spouse greets them and of course they have a bunch of questions, which I am not available to answer. I am lucky to be working at home, as I really cannot imagine how this would have gone otherwise. Of course the place markers laid out the night prior are not all going to work. The installation team - Alejandro (Alex) - and a crew of five brought some much needed relief. They absolutely knew what they were doing and made everything better. They worked so fast and made so much progress the first day, we're almost done by the second and by the third my entire yard was transformed. There was only one minor issue that the project manager said he would get fixed right away. It took awhile and they tried to talk me out of it and provide a minor discount because it would be costly, but that was his mistake and important to me so I held to it. I will admit that I have high exceptions and value quality, as I believe one should for the price. Their work is lovely, but much of it is preference, which you cannot leave to project managers or workers to decide. I am the one that has to live with this. The end product was great, but I wish there would have been better planning. So, my advice would be go with them, but make sure you have everything figured out before you sign the contract.

They completed the project in record time, even fitting me in ahead of schedule, which was a huge relief considering spring rains were on their way. The crew was fantastic--professional, friendly, and respectful of my property. They communicated with me every step of the way, answering all my questions quickly and thoroughly, sending me photos of the work to assuage any concerns. It was clear that they take great pride in their work, and they left my yard in perfect condition, cleaning up meticulously after the job was done. One wrench in the project was that I had an invisible fence line that ran through multiple areas of excavation, and I knew there was no chance that line wasn't going to be cut. What really blew me away, was that Cristian went out and repaired the damage and the line works perfectly again; talk about above and beyond! A week later, the drainage system works perfectly, and my yard is shockingly dry considering the recent heavy rain. I highly recommend Hills Excavation for any complicated and muddy yard-related needs--they exceeded my expectations in every way and I'm glad I no longer feel like Shrek telling people to, "get out of my swamp!"

He was right on with his estimate and showed up and got to work. We worked out with him ahead of time the design, the steps, the color, height, etc. If he had questions while working on it, we always discussed next steps to make sure there were no surprises. The biggest thing is John is on the job when work is being done and he doesn't sub it out to others. He and his team worked their butts off whenever they were on site. There were a few days in between, since forms need to be made, concrete has to cure, aggregate needed exposing and other activities. So the whole process took about 3 weeks, but we were never concerned that he wouldn't be back to do the next step. He kept us informed every step of the way. Plus - he just seems like an all around great guy, very personable and good workers on the job with him. Our patio is gorgeous, everyone loves it and so do we. We would hire him for any project if we needed work done again.

We paid him $7,000 down and Brickheads took out 9 sills (1 had already been removed). And then...nothing. When we followed up about completion of the work, Gino claimed he had been in a car accident. We believed him and waited for a long time. When we followed up again, he claimed he had been in a second car accident. Whether true or not, the fact is that in 2023 Gino left 10 holes in our home and as of 2026 Brickheads refused to either refund the money or complete work. We have noticed, however, that despite claims that they cannot work due to car accidents, there have been many positive Google and Facebook reviews of jobs Brickheads has apparently continued to take on and complete. Be very, very wary. We liked and trusted Gino when we met him. We were wrong.

The first thing I noticed right away is they actually answer their phone when they call so that was already a plus for me. I was able to schedule an estimate quickly and get someone out to help us address our main issue which was our kitchen not venting correctly, in addition to a fireplace that we would soon need because of the cold Detroit winter. As a new homeowner, we did want to make sure that the fireplaces were in good working condition before we actually started using them so we requested a estimate on what the service and maintenance could potentially be for the fireplaces that we had in our house and any recommendations that they would have. The process was very straightforward. They easily walked us through the quote and what was needed and why, in addition to what the current condition of the fireplace was in to what would need to be done and how it would fix the problem as well as what comes after the service what could be expected what they would be able to help us with should we come across any hiccups after the fireplace maintenance and what warranties came with the products that we purchased. We purchased dampers some gas fire logs, and had our fireplaces updated so that we could use them last winter. From there coming this winter, we assumed that we would have to have the fireplaces serviced again because it was a new year, though we only had a handful of fires in the living room fireplace they scheduled the appointment. They were prompt and scheduling, as well as coming out for service and transparent enough to say we haven't used our fireplace enough to fully warrant a cleaning. This was refreshing to see this type of honesty from a contractor. Then we ended up having an issue with the smoke coming into our house on our serviced fireplace. They were able to address solve an analyze, the reasons why the smoke was coming in to our living room, though everything looked up-to-date and ready to go. It was next level problem-solving skills that they would rarely run across because of the unique fireplace that we had in our Historic house. It was very appreciated that they did not just give up and ask us to spend a gazillion dollars to throw money at a problem. I highly recommend Detroit City sweep for the professionalism the availability, and of course, the quality of the work.

One of the driveway slabs of concrete near the fence had a buried tree stump that prevented them from completing the job. Totally understandable. Kevin told me if I get rid of the tree stump he'll come and finish the job and give me a good deal when I'm ready. Again totally understandable. I foolishly paid him the total balance for the entire job even though they didn't do everything that was promised with the expectation they'd come back and finish the job they were paid for. Big mistake. I've been contacting Kevin for now over a year and half trying to get him to do the right thing and finish the work. He has upselled me on a new cost to get the remaining job done after I have already paid him. I reluctantly agreed because of the position I'm in and he still hasn't honored his commitment to completing the job despite me agreeing to pay him twice for the same job. He called me on the phone in November and gave me his word he would make it right. Still nothing. Just a repetitive cycle of ghosting and poor communication. The driveway is chipping already and flaking to the point I will have to pay for repairs on top of trying to get the job done. This job was done in July 2024. Very frustrating and downright insulting that this company doesn't honor their commitments and disappears on you. I paid 12k for the entire project and it is devastating when a contract company can't deliver on the work they promised but have no problem taking all your money from you. To these companies 12k may not seem a lot but to the everyday person like me who works a normal job this is a huge amount of money to spend that is taking me years off to pay, all with the job undone. All you ever ask is for people to do the right thing and this company hasn't. If I were a new customer I would have them sign a binding document that holds them to the entire scope of the project otherwise they might disappear on you like they did with me. I cannot recommend using ReliableConcrete based on my experience.

My father-in-law nearly rolled his ankle walking around our garage, so we decided that fixing the garage floor was a priority for safety reasons. Enter Creative Concrete Raising. My husband found this company through Yelp and inquired about their services, but since it was early winter and the ground was freezing, the company still came out to inspect the floor and give us a quote, and they put us on their queue for spring because their equipment had already been weatherized and put away. As soon as the weather warmed up, they called and came out to fix our garage promptly. I wish I had a before picture of the lip between the hemispheres of our garage floor because it must have been offset by an inch, and they were able to raise it up! They drilled holes and pumped limestone underneath the concrete to bring it up to an even surface. The manager Ken even mentioned that they could tell that underneath the concrete there were some hollow areas! Yikes! Thankful for their services and we will definitely be considering them again because we have more areas that need to be fixed! Surprisingly, they didn't try to upsell my husband on services, they quoted him and did exactly what he asked for. Great communication, timely service, and an overall easy transaction.

I know that ours had many layers of asphalt, with dips and sides that meandered. That's all corrected now! Kevin and his crew were very accommodating to make this an easy experience - even offering to move a car that hadn't been driven in a year (I moved in with my parents when they hit 82 and no longer drove). Kevin was very professional, and his team very well coordinated. The driveway turned out fantastic. I absolutely recommend them! If you are anxious - call Kevin - let him and his team take care of everything for you.
