I was fortunate enough to somewhat enjoy the property I rented from this organizarion until i got…read moreready to move. I'm a low-maintenance tenant because my parents rent properties as well and I understand the headache of dealing with tenants tearing things up and constantly calling you to fix them. I rented an apartment at Plantation Manor for one year. This was my experience moving out & trying to get my $400 deposit back. In the end, I was charged $200 to sweep up some white powder on a linoleum floor that they claim they replace in between every tenant anyway. "This place sits on a ditch and has a German cockroach infestation. I know because when i finally figured out boric acid was all that worked, i shared it with my neighbors who thanked me dearly. I told them the story of how I've seen a house that had to be burned down because of a German cockroach infestation. Traps, spray, and even the pesticide man did not work on these little demons. It was sprayed twice for bugs over the year I stayed there and there was no improvement. 1 tenant that was home at the time the apartments were sprayed told me the pesticide man came in, carelessly sprayed around a bit, and then sprayed pesticide all over her dishes in the kitchen. I said he might as well have been spraying fruit punch because I never noticed any effect after he left.. I had even taken all of my food and dishes out of my kitchen on three different occasions clean it and sprayed it myself and did not keep any food in the kitchen for days and they roaches still wouldn't leave or die. After trying everything else first, I finally lined my kitchen with boric acid and saw the roaches beginning to die off. When I moved, the manager continue to assure me that everything would be ok as I explained things to her. As I was still seeing a couple of roaches each morning dead in the boric acid, I left it there so it will continue to kill the bugs while the apartment was being prepped for the next tenant. I cleaned the apartment and left everything in working order which I received it. Better even because the inside of the stove and the cabinets were nasty and I wipe them all out with heavy-duty cleaner. I did leave the boric acid down because the roaches were still coming up in the apartment, knowing that I was doing the next tenant a favor. I received my security deposit refund several weeks later. The apartment manager charged $200 to vacuum up the powder around the perimeter of a small kitchen (maybe 5 by 10) & dining room (about 8 by 8). She kept saying "it was a mess, it was a mess" over and over again as I wait for her to tell me something else that justified $200 being deducted from my deposit. There was nothing else she could say!!! At that point she just got an attitude to indicate that the conversation was over and she was not going to justify gouging me like that. The apartment was clean and in fully functioning order. $200 to sweep when she initially told me, when i first moved in, that they replace the carpet & linoleum in between every tenant ANYWAY. She was always nice until this day. On this day, she was nasty. The apartment manager, Peggy, said I only got $200 back because that's just what she told the woman to give me. Frustrated. Said I had no recourse. She just took my money without justification and then told me there was nothing I could do about it in a disgusting tone of voice. So this is just a warning. It's quiet but she will live with bugs and there is no privacy because she has other tenants to watch your apartment so thry can run to her and gossip about everything you're doing. Have no expectation of privacy if you live in the apartments this woman manages. I'd rather pay more than to be under surveillance in my own home. Again it is quiet and the swimming pool is maintained but you are going to see some insects you've never seen before in your life living next to that ditch.

I have been living here for almost 5 years and I have no issues with roaches, not to say we haven't…read morehad few but the whole apt complex is not infested with German roaches as someone else has said and for one I have to say this never had a problem with anyone and I lived upstairs for 3 years and moved downstairs right below my first apt.....The manger is great and I will say i don't agree with the rent hike from 400 to 475 but what can i do about it...still cheaper to live here than trying to rent a house..nice neighbors and very nicely located by stores and walking distance to where you need to go if you don't have transportation of your own. It really depends on your situation maybe the other person was living by nasty people I don't know but I will say this we have a issue with bugs they get sprayed and we don't see anymore so why be so harsh and say things that aren't true...you get what you deserve.
