Thank you to all the Yelpers that have posted about this restaurant. Without you, I would have stuck to one of those sea-view restaurants. Carls gives you unpretentious, delicious, German food at a very reasonable price. Pair the house schnitzel with a dry German Reisling and your tastebuds will be thanking you... Well, thanking me, but you can take the credit! (Side note: to all North American readers out there, please don't ask for a side of mustard with the schnitzel. Use the silky, creamy sauce from the mushrooms, instead!)

The seafood was also very good. I have to say: the "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" here. Was it the cool sea air on the stroll to the dining room, the fresh fish, the warm service, the vibrant art, the fireplace, the lovely other guests? All of these and more. We entered and left with a sense of enchantment.
