The passionfruit cheesecake layer was not very dominant, allowing for a well-balanced combination with the pumpkin pie custard. The sable base complemented the dessert perfectly. The apple dessert featured apple-lime compote, yuzu mousse, a white chocolate shell, and a sbrisolona cookie base. The apple-lime compote was tangy, but it blended well with the yuzu mousse, making it seriously delicious. I usually can't handle tangy desserts, but I enjoyed this one; it was that good. The sbrisolona cookie included almonds (or possibly other nuts), which added a great flavor as well. The maple pecan cube croissant was very delicious, too. A notable point was the filling; the maple flavor was delightful, leaning slightly on the sweeter side but still so good. The maple drizzle with pecans on top of the cube croissant made it even more delicious. I highly recommend this item! Without visiting Karat, my trip to Kelowna wouldn't be complete. The place was cute and had a variety of gourmet looking cupcakes and specialty cakes. When we arrived, our cakes were ready to go and looked really good. (see photos). Both cakes had a 'spilled martini glass' theme with olives, etc... The smaller cake was supposed to be chocolate with raspberry and the larger sheet cake was lemon. I guess people must buy these cakes for looks only. They held up really well in the transport of the cakes to the party. The birthday boy was impressed with how they looked as was everyone else at the party. The problem came when we went to taste them. They weren't good. The larger lemon cake was incredibly dry. It even looked a little overcooked when you saw the cake itself. The chocolate cake was much more moist but there was no raspberry. There was some other type of frosting between layers. I don't know if they just messed up or there was a miscommunication, but there was definitely no raspberry. I love cake and I especially love chocolate cake (check out what my last meal on earth would be on my Yelp profile), but this cake was just not good. It didn't taste awful, it just wasn't worth eating. I took one bite and I was done. In the end we were left with two cakes that no one wanted to take home. No one at the party wanted pieces to go and I think the cake it still sitting uneaten somewhere. A very weak 3 stars for very nice presentation but cake you just don't care to eat.

A stroll down Copper Street is worth seeing the heritage sites and antique shops and learn about the rich history of the area.
