Coming home at 7.30 on a Sunday, absolutely knackered, there's nothing better than hearing the sound of a samba band outside your window. Except if that window looks onto Meeting House Square and you see not only a samba band, but a capoeira demonstration. Now, not only are the men who do capoeira generally gorgeous (and these guys did nothing to dissuade me of this fact), but the fact that the can actually do capoeira is sexy in and of itself. By the time I'd raced back down the stairs, the capoeira had been replaced by a drumming group taken from all over Dublin, but dominated by children from the north inner city. And there's nothing like a drumming session to make you feel good. The tribalism inherent in all of us gets full power as the beats start hitting you right in the chest, and I defy you not to dance.
