Since there was no way I could survive several weeks without it, I decided I had to buy a new one. A quick search and I discovered Club X. At the very busy intersection of Swanston and Little Bourke, there's a slightly seedy looking neon sign. Look around surreptitiously; step inside! There appears to be something downstairs - I needed retail, so I didn't go down there - only up. I assume it's rooms for watching films though. Upstairs the shop is pretty much like any other regular toy store... they have a really good selection across all interests, but more breadth than depth. That is, they have a lot of things, but only 1-2 of a lot of things. Maybe 3-4. A lot of items appeared to be sold out. I got suddenly shy when I was trying to shop around an older gentleman. But then I heard, "I assume you're looking for clitoral?" Turned around, and the shop assistant (looked young and bookish, so I hadn't engaged when I walked in to save him the embarrassment) was talking to me. "Uh, yeah." Caleb (shop assistant) came to life with the opportunity to help. I told him what I liked, what I was looking for, what I usually bought, and my constraints (primarily, nothing that plugs in because I can't take that home!). He pulled a few items for me and let me feel all of them. He was really knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and definitely made me feel at ease during my shopping. I made my selection and then was on my way back home. I noticed when I got home, the receipt says City Central Books - Swanston Street at the top. That made me chuckle. Also there are 2 reviews that have been filtered, and they both mention a discreet side entrance. Thank you guys! Definitely recommend this place if you're on the market for anything in the "adult toy" world, and I do hope you're lucky and get Caleb like I did!

Complained to Kylie over the phone about the $20 entrance cost, the purported rate increase (more than double for a long term client) and now I suffered depression and suicidal thoughs every day. Kylie's way of dealing with this was to lamblast me with a series of false accusations that I was threatening to kill myself because of her and that I was yelling at her over the phone. I was not yelling at her over the phone. I had good reason to complain about the money hungry purported rate increase that was obviously directed at me either because I am perceived as disabled or that "he can pay for it.." Gang stalking mentality exist at this venue which deserves to go out of business permanently.

I attended a Men In Action show called 'Magic Night' at Red Bennies on a Sunday night. It's a…read moreboy-lesque/strip style show inspired by the film Magic Mike. Unfortunately, the venue seemed to be at odds with the production delivering a show that was enjoyable for the audience from beginning to end. The guys were attractive and well defined (if a bit homogenized). And they had clearly spent many hours working out. Beyond their looks, it was immediately apparent that there was a range of experience with the performers on stage. The performers brought a lot of women up from the audience (as well as a few guys in attendance too) to give them lap dances, etc as part of the show. I was delighted to be selected as one of the 'audience participants' and it was cool that they also used guys from the audience. Tip for the ladies: wear pants! I think I saw as much (unintentional) lady butt as I did of the guys who were intentionally taking their clothes off that night. Some of the guys had solo routines which were fun and well-choreographed. And of course certain costumes that you would expect were featured during the night such as doctor and construction worker. The guys don't do full frontal, but we did get to see almost everything else. Unfortunately, Red Bennies seems to force every production in their space to have two lengthy intermissions. I'm sure this policy is to try and get people to buy more (overpriced) drinks at the bar. But for the Magic Night show, the intermissions felt painfully long and drug down the energy of the entire show. So the MC and guys had to work to get the momentum running for the show again after each intermission. This also led to it being a very long night. The doors opened at 7pm, the show didn't get started until after 8pm and by the time we got out of the venue it was close to 1am on a Sunday night and we had all missed our last trams. If the entire night was spent ogling ripped guys performing on stage, then I would say that was 4-5 hours well spent. Unfortunately, much of that time was taken up by the intermissions, MC banter, etc. Also, there are not enough seats in the venue and a lot of us were left to stand, which frankly gets old after 4-5 hours and takes some of the fun out of the show too. My friend had discount tickets she shared with us for the show. The experience I got for the half-price ticket was enjoyable and worth my time and money. However, if I had paid full price and had the same experience at Red Bennies, I would not be as pleased. Men in Action has some great looking guys, some of whom are also talented performers. I'd like to get a chance to check them out again in a different venue.
