We were introduced to the raw food diet by someone at our local pet valu and given some samples of and our pup Zeus loved them so much that I had to figure out how to get him some more when I found that we could take our pup for a nice car drive which he loves and take him right to the supplies to get some more food i thought it was a great chance to have a good excursion with him. we brought him here and the property was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed a walk around the property. Zeus loved being there, and the staff was great with him they gave him lots of treats and attention what more could the little guy want! I will be back soon the grab the little rascal some more raw food which he absolutely loves although it is available at the petvalu close to us me and Zeus love the trip up here. read more

I recently ordered a case of the 2lbs dinner pack. 2/12 containers were cracked and opened when they came in which I had to throw out immediately since they were raw meat. I then send an email to the company in regards to the situation and they were expecting me to send the cracked containers back with raw meat back for proof even when I send them multiple pictures of the container. I am very disappointed with the way that the company handle the situation and would avoid ordering from them directly from now on. read more

Amazing food brand. Although a bit in the pricey side when compared to other raw food bulk suppliers, the quality and convenience of the packaging is what convinces me to get food for Simba from them. Love the delivery truck that comes around to the gta as well. Simba has sampled a lot of the types and really enjoys all of them. Especially the frozen chicken necks! read more

Since purchasing our French Bulldog puppy, a breed pre-disposed to gastro-intestinal sensitivity, we were advised by our breeder that the best results for this breeds health would be to feed him a raw food diet. When we brought home our little guy we were given some samples of BCR and obviously he loved the stuff, I mean who wouldn't love raw blended animal parts. Ok maybe not my choice in meals but for dogs, especially our Opie, this stuff is literally a drug. We can't even get the bowl to the floor and he's going nuts for it. The pros are as follows: - Great e-commerce website filled with packages and options - Tons of flavours and types to choose from for your dog or cat - Extras such as dietary supplements and treats like raw frozen bones - Available at some stores in the area (however the Pet Value close to my home has a local exclusivity deal so if they're closed your puppy is out of luck. The cons: - While they offer delivery in Toronto, their delivery dates and times are by region/zone and are pretty inconvenient - the price of delivery is absurd, $20+ on any order under $100. We HAD to do this recently and this basically negates any convenience or savings by buying direct. I'm glad my dog loves this food and if you're buying from a store it actually can work out to be cheaper than kibble even, however, aside from this most recent online order I won't be using their e-commerce section ever again. Fido will love it raw, but you'll hate paying deliver, so find a local supplier and buy it that way. Opie approved, 4 Paws up! read more

I am a huge fan of Big Country Raw (BCR). They were the first to introduce me to the idea of feeding raw food and until then I didn't even realize it was an option, nevermind the best thing for my dog. I love how open and honest they are and how they have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Their line of supplements makes it really easy to get my dog what he needs. The dinners are sold in a variety of proteins and package sizing so my dog gets variety. They really listen to their customers and pay attention to what their customers want and need and deliver. Recently they came out with raw goats milk and a curcumin supplement - both of which customers were struggling to find/make. Previously I would make a golden paste but the curcumin powder is much easier! Ordering online is easy and brand reps have discount codes, plus there is a discount if you buy more than one of their grab N go boxes. They have a great facebook group for BCR feeders where it is a fantastic community built around supporting eachother with the raw feeding process and having fun with supplements! read more

BCR conveniently delivers to my home and I personally really like their packaging for their 2 lb containers. (They sell 1lb, 2lb and 6 lb containers.) They have a lot of options and selection. They frequently have items on sale and they also have brand reps on social media who have discount codes. They have great customer service from the reminders to reorder, to the communication via email whenever I've had a question and they even a support group on Facebook where they are very involved and give suggestions, recommendations, provide information, and listen to our feedback. They've really built a community. We buy directly from BCR online and have it delivered because of the convenience but many stores carry it now. My bulldogs are all doing very well on it. Improved energy, weight, skin and fur, regular consistent stools, less gas, etc. read more

Where do I start, this is not the best raw food out there but they put their product out there a lot and that gets business. I was ordering online for my 2 dogs and 1 cat on a regular basis. The delivery service is poor at best and the customer service is really bad. The courteous person there is Megan who tried to make things better but after getting wrong items, bad advice like "give your dog the bones outside and let them eat them" yeah that is not the advice in extreme heat that you want to hear....feed your dogs outside? Flies and mosquitoes? I had enough. Going back to Tollden Farms, their food is superior and easy to portion. Big country packages are way too big, I have to constantly thaw and refreeze into portions and its tedious and messy. You cant leave it in the fridge for 3 days as they tell you as it becomes even more watery and turns brown. I could never feed that to my pets. I give them a 1 out of 5 because I do like and will buy the quail eggs until I can find them elsewhere. They lost a $300 a month customer and acted like they didn't care at all. Lots of great competition that is superior and less expensive. read more

I placed an order for delivery, paid and never received my order so I stopped ordering from them. I thought after a few months I would try them again and the first order I placed and paid for I get an email saying my payment was not in on time and my order won't be delivered poor service. Today is Monday 1:00p my delivery day is Tuesday but they tell me the truck is already loaded....why is the truck being loaded with raw frozen dog food 24 hours before delivery?????? read more

I thought I would give my cat more nutrition by trying raw food. My cat stopped eating altogether after some time on only Big Country turkey blend (for cats and dogs). I put my finger in the food and it was full (I mean full) of small pieces of sharp bone. I tried to explain this to the manufacturer but they just wanted to argue that raw food was safe for all pets and that this was normal. I think it was akin to my cat eating glass, no wonder she stopped eating and even threw up blood. Well I certainly did not feel it was safe for my pet. I was very disappointed in their lack of concern for my experience. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Big Country Raw. On January 20, I found a shard of glass in a newly opened package of their raw dog food. This was incredibly alarming and could have seriously injured my dog. I immediately reached out to the company, provided photos, and shared all relevant lot information. I was connected with Kelly, who initially requested that I send the foreign object back to them. I asked if they could arrange a courier pickup, given the seriousness of the situation. She told me they were unable to arrange shipping and that they would proceed with their investigation without the sample. After that, I heard nothing for several days and had to follow up myself to ask about their findings. At that point, I was told they couldn't fully complete the investigation without the sample -- the same sample I had already discarded because I was told they didn't need it. I requested to speak with a supervisor about next steps. Instead of taking accountability for the miscommunication, they simply said they would "look into it further." Again, I heard nothing for days and had to chase them for updates regarding their findings and what they were doing to ensure the safety of other pets. After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I suddenly received a response. However, they maintained that nothing had gone wrong on their end -- which is unbelievable considering there was literal glass in their product. They offered me coupons as compensation, which I agreed to accept despite strongly disagreeing with their conclusions. As of today, I still have not received those coupons. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and failure to follow through speak volumes. Finding glass in pet food is a serious safety issue, and their handling of the situation only made it worse. If you care about your pets' safety and want a company that stands behind its products, I would strongly caution you before purchasing from this brand read more
