Little Rock did a great job with this public space, it's a beautiful outdoor area that's super walkable and very accessible, for pedestrians and cyclists alike. The fact that it's a dam and a bridge is cool, I guess? But what's great about this space is its value as a park, really worth a visit on a nice day! read more

Beautiful place to run, walk, bike, picnic, or sit on a bench and converse. So many miles of scenic views to enjoy and they all connect to other trails. There is parking on either side of the dam and if you are lucky like I was, you might catch a train or two pass nearby. The visual and audio of the train peeking from the trees is comforting and relaxing. The historical placards is a great educational perk to this visit. History of the river, wildlife, natives, and more can be found throughout the trails. See ya next time @Big Dam Bridge! read more

Yet another recommendation from my coworkers here in LR. I stopped by the Big Dam Bridge after hiking Pinnacle. It's a nice area for walking, running, exercising. There are a couple of different bridge trails and the surrounding area for recreation. The bridge is lit up at night, which adds to the beauty of the area. As you walk along the bridge, you can see the vehicle traffic from across the water/Arkansas River. Beautiful for a night stroll. read more

Had a short stop in Little Rock and had to stop by the Big Dam Bridge. It was cool to learn about the history of the bridge and the way it connects so many trails. It was a cloudy day with a good breeze so it felt great walking across the bridge. There are awesome views of the river and it's a great place for walking, jogging/running or cycling. The bridge is quite majestic, and takes ten or fifteen minutes to walk across-assuming you would naturally want to stop and snap a few pictures. On the city side, it connects with a long paved greenway that runs by the riverside, and goes towards parks in the upstream direction. On the far side of the river, there is a marshy lake area with some parking as well; you can start on either side. While there was a lock, I did not observe any boats being lifted up through it; not sure how often that happens but I'm guessing it's an interesting sight. Nonetheless, the views of the river and the dam were worthwhile. read more

Wow! This is indeed a big dam bridge! I visited while on a cross-country road trip. I was stopping in Little Rock for the night and wanted a place for my dog and I to stretch our legs after a day of driving. This was prefect! We arrived late afternoon on a weekday and it was crowded enough to feel safe as a solo-traveling female, but not so crowded that I couldn't find a place to park or walk socially distanced with the pup. If I lived in Little Rock I'm sure I'd come here frequently for a run or bike ride! There is something about standing on top of all of that rushing water that just makes you feel alive! I highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a cool view and a great place for a walk in Little Rock! read more

We stopped here because I found it as a place to see on Yelp. There wasn't much to see unless you want to walk, bike, skateboard. I wouldn't really call this a "site to see". There are better landmarks. Don't waste the time making the drive here. read more

The bridge was about 1.5 miles round trip and took us fifty somethings an hour to saunter and read all the signs. It was well maintained but for a bit of some dog's poop. It had amazing views. The parking was free and plentiful. They had bathrooms and plenty of benches. read more

This is a must visit. Huge homes on top of mountain you see while you either biking, running, jogging or just walking on the bridge or one of the connecting trails. I end up walking for three house just taking in the nice weather and stopping and sitting at the bench to just taking it all in. I felt totally safe by myself here because there are plenty of people walking the trail and the bridge. read more

Yes. Get outside and walk. Lookout for the dog poop all over the bridge. This is caused by selfish animal owners who don't care about the family's and cyclist going up and down the bridge, too. Sometimes poop is everywhere. Please stay on your side of the bridge. Their are joggers and cyclists who frequent this bridge. Any place where you get outside and get your heart rate up deserves 5 starts. Please get out, look at this beautiful city and love yourself! read more

Can't visit and be relaxed. Have to be able to see your vehicle. Too many people have their vehicles broke into. Need more security in the parking areas. I'll never go back to the big damn bridge or the other smaller Two Rivers Park by I-430. read more

This was a great bridge to walk across from North Little Rock to South Little Rock. I highly recommend starting from North Little Rock, as the views are much better walking towards South. You have great views of the mountains and the river. You can watch people fish, the dam running, and people watch. read more

Well I drive by this all the time and recently started working out again and downloaded the AllTrails app and this one was on there for good workout. I wish I had a bike some guys were zooming 100000mphz across this thing. It's got enough wind to dry the sweat off your face, enough scary water action below to give you a slight thrill, and just enough umph to get you into a good workout mood. Great place to walk, ride a bike or roller skate. It is a huge pedestrian bridge over the Arkansas River and located near the parking are wooded off road bike trails although the pace trails lead I er 18 miles, to the east is Riverfront Park in Little Rock. To the right is Pinnacle Mt. Great for exercise or sightseeing. read more

What a beautiful walk across the water There are places you can sit and enjoy the beautiful breeze from Fairly well trafficked. Parking can be a limiting factor sometimes though. Great for bikers. read more

What a great place for joggers, runners, bikers or to even just walk your dog or take a family stroll. No cars allowed on here. We came during the sunset and the view was beautiful and peaceful. Guard railing up the whole way to provide accurate safety. Trash cans along the way to keep the bridge clean. Did not see any trash. read more

LOVE how they've turned a hydroelectric dam - which isn't lovely in and of itself - into a wonderful community park and trail system. It's very cool to walk the bridge over the dam and river and see the water rushing through the gates and channels. There's also picnicking areas available and public restrooms. Def worth a visit! read more

I did a web search for things to do in Little Rock since I was there to visit a friend but he had work so that gave me a lot of free time. Really, Arkansas? A bridge? However clever the pun a bridge is something I should come and see while visiting? You proved me wrong, and well done, Little Rock. The views were awesome, being able to look out to Pinnacle Mountain, and despite what was obviously flooding it was still a great view, with Kingfishers in abundance the day I was there. The bridge is 3/4 of a mile so for someone that is distance challenged like myself it's a good mark off point and with just enough rise for it to be interesting. Definitely, a good place to visit, and a good place to get a run in. read more

I was in the area so I knew I had to check out the notable Big Dam Bridge. Fun fact: the Big Dam Bridge is the longest pedestrian and bicycle only bridge in the U.S. I was really glad I stopped by to check it out while I was in the area. I walked it part of the way but was on a time crunch so didn't walk it all the way to the other side. Please note, pay attention as you're on the walking path because their are some runners and bicyclists who zoom by and you don't want to be caught in the way as they come around. The views from the top are pretty cool and the area is awfully scenic. There are some big nice houses sitting atop lush hills that are just perfection. Definitely check out the Big Dam Bridge when when you are in the area. read more

Lots of things that make you just got -lol- sometimes. I love the Big Dam Bridge. The name is quite fitting and who doesn't want to say they went to the Big Dam Bridge over and over? The Big Dam Bridge is sort of a novelty experience and there is nothing particularly spectacular about it but the views are nice and it's a great walk. Parking is easy and the Big Dam Bridge is not crowded. There are extensive and beautiful trails around the Big Dam Bridge that I would highly recommend if you are into serious walking, hiking or biking. Check it out and say you've been to the Big Dam Bridge. If nothing else, it is fun to say and write over and over. read more

I just wanted a place to walk for a while and the Arkansas River Trail is the place. I parked a little over a mile from the big dam bridge. There are walkers, joggers and bicycles on the trail. Where I was the trail is all paved and 8' to 12' wide. A great place to stroll or get some exercise. Going up the bridge is a good incline but being on the river offers a nice breeze. read more

Seen this off the freeway and was like that's a beautiful area. Nice and quiet location. Beautiful homes on the hills and if you like peaceful areas (maybe to meditate) then look no further. The Big Dam Bridge and its connecting paths have really been the foundation of a good running and biking habit for me. I love that you can run so many miles without ever going in traffic, and the views from the bridge are so beautiful! I love to take my big rough collie when I'm going on shorter runs. He loves the social aspect of the bridge with the people, children and other dogs. (PLEASE, people, PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOGS! There are FREE baggies at both ends of the bridge. I always just tie one to my dog's collar and let him carry his baggie in case he needs one.) The bridge itself is .75 miles one way. It's important to make sure that walkers, and especially their children, and runners stay to the right and watch out for cyclists, who can build up some good speeds going down the slopes. It looks like a western ramp is being built from the path on the Little Rock side between the BDB and the I-430 bridge and seems to be scheduled for completion October 2012. The "detour" set up along the path includes a very dicey uphill turn at both ends (cyclists, watch out!). The bridge is also a difficult, but good way to start a very early morning run, as it is wonderfully lit up before sunrise. Now with the Two Rivers Park bridge, you can park either on the LR side, the NLR side (Cook's Landing Park) or at the Two Rivers Park bridge and have access to this wonderful outdoor experience. Great to take friends and family from out of town. You'll share the bridge with fellow walkers, joggers, bikers, stroller-pushers, and dog parents, who do a pretty good job at picking up their messes. Little Rock's biking scene is growing and you'll see many people taking advantage of this scenery on their rides. There's port-o-johns on either side, though if there are no current plans for a permanent installation there really should be. There are walking trails around the area that are quite nice. Murray Park is just down the street and offers pavilions with grills/fireplaces for rent, picnic tables, a small playground, trash cans, and restrooms. You'll often see people park facing the river, enjoying the view as they eat in their car. read more
