It really hurts me to write this review because the staff here are AMAZING. Megan, Lauren, David…read more("Grandpa"), Jess, Patrick (one of the chefs), and others are amazing people who all deserve huge raises, in my opinion, for what they do every day. I probably owe Megan my life due to the condition I arrived in after being advised by the admissions coordinator, "Gabriel," to keep drinking during my trip to The Ohana to "maintain" instead of seeking medical treatment before arrival. The facility itself is definitely beautiful, but there were a lot of promises made by "Gabriel" that simply were not true once I arrived. There is no doctor on site. You're lucky if you see a therapist for even two hours a week. Most of the activity equipment is run down, unusable, or honestly dangerous. Activities are not what they advertise at all you're lucky to do two a week. You're promised snacks and drinks stocked in the fridge, but they are often non-existent, which leaves guests uneasy during already difficult times. Because of the massive amount of downtime they provide, clients like myself are forced to order our own entertainment , sports equipment, from DoorDash or elsewhere. Then when you do decide to order something, it can take days to get approved by "higher ups." For example, I tried ordering a basic hoodie and shorts and had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for approval. I'm not sure who runs this place above the staff members I mentioned, but I honestly feel sorry for them because they seem to have zero authority to make their own decisions despite being the people actually helping clients every day. There's much more I'm probably forgetting, but I'm just trying to write an honest review to warn people and help them make an informed decision before choosing this facility. Someone like myself that's doing self pay for 40+ thousand dollars this facility is absolutely not worth the money.

This company is a joke, false advertising! This place looks dreamy on the brochure. However the…read moreowner can't get into his answering machine, his website, doesn't return calls and gives therapist interns hours to clean his filthy house. People come here with one addiction and come out with three. It is very unorganized, the owner is very lazy. You feel like you're in a toxic relationship that you can't get out of. He is very dishonest with his billing, there are no consequences if you get high or drunk on site. The owner and staff scream to motivate because there are no other tools to motivate patients. They don't ever contact probation officers and I think that's where probation officers send them there when they are tired of bothering. They are Kona's joke as a treatment center in other rehabs. The men live in squalor and the owners idea of therapy is ted talks. He doesn't tell people when they can complete IOP and keeps them forever when it's only suppose to be 3-6 months. The program uses church donations for food when he is making massive money a year. He doesn't do anything to help people progress, he bills for case management then never does it. Clients have to forge his name to get food stamps because he refuses to fill out the paperwork and they are not allowed to fill it out and he demands they fill it out. People with severe mental disorders and are unsafe are put in a room with roommates- schizophrenia. He doesn't help them fill out paperwork for assistance including; social security, low income housing, etc. He doesn't organize trips for them to get out and threatens clients he will send them to prison. This guy has extremely severe ADHD and has no follow-through, he has an excuse not to do any ideas to improve or make the program successful because that would require him to get off his lazy butt. He has a van that could be used for the guys to go on shopping trips, etc. but he always says he will register it and now it's been a year and staff are driving it unregistered. He doesn't have required licensing for the location to be an actual treatment center but advertises it as such. This guy is a real piece of work. He doesn't monitor clients when they go shopping so they bring home bottles of liquor. One guy drank a bottle everyday for a year and was never stopped. It's not uncommon to bring someone back over and over again that continues to bring meth in so he can charge them for services that are often not provided. One guy ran away for weeks and he still billed them for urine tests, therapy and rent. Once a staff member took a baseball bat to a client and threatened him to behave. This guy should NOT be owning or running this kind of business- he is working with a very vulnerable population! Staff members give up because they can't enforce anything because there is no follow-through or consequences. One time he went into IOP stoned, he reeked of marijuana, other occasions he is drinking. The staff on sites house reeks of marijuana at night and rumor is clients can bring it if they share. Instead of helping clients get on appropriate meds, he encourages a cannabis card. So much more! But this gives you an idea.
