Recently I had to have some trees branches that were hanging above my house so I called Big Island Tree Service to have them the branches trimmed. Rayan the owner came a couple of days later and asked me what I work needed to be done. They sent me an email with what work was needed to done and an estimate it would cost. They later called me to say that it was alright if they could come on a certain day and said it would be okay with me. They came on the scheduled day and double check with me to see what I wanted to be done. I had an appointment and left and I returned they were done and left. They did a great job and they cleaned up the mess they created. I highly recommend them to anyone who need they trees trimmed or removed. I give them a 5 stars rating. read more

The drivers will speed through your neighborhood at high rates of speed endangering children, animals and your property.they will not return your calls regarding dangerous drivers after many people in the neighbor hood have complained. If you care about the safety of your community I would recommend you don't use this company at all specifically because of irresponsible drivers and the business not even having the courtesy to return any calls to anyone that have complained about the dangerous drivers. read more

The gentlemen from Big Island Tree Service completed a second job for us today, removing two large travelers' palms that were located close to two sides to our residence. The work was done efficiently and neatly, plus all of the employees are extremely courteous and pleasant (including the office staff). Was very impressed in the professional service and safety precautions these men took to complete this job. They arrived at the time and on time , then went right to work. For a three man team, no one had to be told what to do, they just adjusted to each function without thinking on what's next. A perfect example of man and machine working together, oh yes.. the tree guy was very good at what he does, I thought pole climbing was easy ,compared to tree trimming, there's no comparison. We recently had BITS out for the third time in three years, and the service was great. The crew was respectful, efficient, and careful to protect the vegetation and structures near the three trees being cut. They stopped twice to ask us just how we would like a tree they were only trimming to be shaped. When it was all done, they did a good cleanup and put the chipped mulch exactly where we had requested. These guys are professionals. They stay booked up well in advance, and the reason is that they are good. Also, fully licensed and insured. read more

We had a big tree and a few very tall palms needed to be removed, it was a big tree service job. After I did lots of research online and had a few tree service companies give me estimate. Among the companies that are licensed and with adequate insurance. I found Big Island Tree Service was the best overall. The owner Ryan started with very professional estimate of the work, and quoted very reasonable price. The worker did a great job and kept the work site clean. It did take a while for them to put our job on their calendar, since they don't come to Waikoloa area often. But I'm happy that my tree work is done and Big Island Tree Service did a great job! P.S. These guys were awesome! Our job was in Volcano, and they came by sooner than was scheduled (yay!) and were great. 4 man crew, dump truck, chipper, and a guy climbing my tree! So, my neighbors had his trees cut between both our houses. Before they came to service his/her trees my internet was working just fine. They were here on Thursday April 16, 2021, sometime in the morning time. Ever since they came and were cutting the trees my internet has not been working. Called the office to see what happened and see what they can do because there was a wire hanging down into my yard(see pictures). The lady that helped me from here said that her guys didn't do it, it was already hanging down when they got there (umm I live here i would know if there was a line hanging down into my yard, also, my neighbor in front of me parks down where the line was hanging they would of told us about it) so I don't know how a crew of maybe 4-6 guys all say that it was already hanging down when they arrived. She also said that the neighbor that was servicing his trees said it was like that already‍ and it was said it happened by natural causes? Really!!? Natural causes!!?? Please tell me how the F*$# would a wire that was never hanging down ever and looks like it was cut from a saw was caused by natural causes!!? Yea naturally cut by a saw!! So don't trust this company or trust what they day. If you do I would keep a close eye on the crew cause I don't trust them at all!! read more

Awesome service, fair pricing! They took down a row of 40+ foot Cypress pines, from tree to chipper. Efficient, clean and timely. After doing our research to have two large Norfolk pines removed Big Island was an obvious choice because of cost. The quote was very pleasing but the service was beyond fantastic. Totally exceeded our expectations; working with the team from estimate through completion was seamless, professional and expert. The proximity of one of the trees was precariously near our house watching the Big Island team execute and concur both trees with no damage to existing yard was impressive. This company is probably not for you if you have a "small" job. You won't get an appointment to cut your trees. Instead hey will "fit you into their schedule " when they finish another job early. You may get about 2-3 hours notice to get home. This did not work for me as everyone in my household works and who can take off at a moments notice? The girl I spoke with kept emphasizing that my job was a small job and would not be a priority. The price was right but only if you don't mind not being at home when they come or you can take off from work at a moments notice. Sorry guys. read more

How can you give an estimate without looking at the project first? I called these guys in the beginning of the week for an estimate, the girl was nice took my information an directions to my home. The other day I received an estimate in the mail, I m trying to figure out when did these guys come to my home to check out the job. I called them back up to ask when did they come to my home, the girl said they came on the date on the estimate, ok now someone is always home, my husband is outside all day, I asked my neighbors and even they said no one stop by my home. I call these people back and I guess the boss/manager took my call because now it's " the guy drove by your home and got a look at it." Mind you the job I want done is in the back of my home and you can't see it from the front of the house or road. This guy is just lazy and you won't get a fair estimate if this guys is doing it. read more
