He has absolutely ZERO customer service skills. The two ladies who work there are such sweethearts, but that man? No way. Today there was a box of sharpies I was interested in. The package was NOT sealed. Easily can just pop it open and see if the tip of the sharpie was the right size. He walked past when I had it in my hand and I asked kindly if I can just see the size of the tip. "No, we don't do that here" he said. The package was not sealed. I could easily just flip it open and see, but NO, he said I can't. Even after I showed him how the package can easily open. "No, that's not allowed." Well, I put the package back. You lost a simple sale, and my respect in you. To the ladies at the counter? Good job, keep up the good work. To the man? Learn some customer service skills.

Best way to deal with this is to ask them to open the box so you can verify both what's in the box and the condition of the item(s). I say this but I have also taken things home assuming the item in the box is what it should be and they were not. My fault, not theirs and I returned said items without issue as I was able to provide my purchase receipt. Again, it's a liquidator people, not a high end retail store. It is what it is!

Welcome to Ocean State Job Lots second Pennsylvania location. This store for unknown reasons was…read moredelayed for a long time but is finally open. Ocean State Job Lot is in the former Toys R Us/Babies R Us on the hill above the Viewmont Mall. Parking lot is reasonably large. Ocean State appears to have done minimal renovations to the building. What is an Ocean State Job Lot? It's a mix between Big Lots and Ollie's Bargain Outlet. It has the cleanliness of Big Lots and stocks current seasonal items but has some of the common overstock items you find at Ollie's like food/toiletries. Ocean State carries no toys and minimal electronics. The clothing selection, while not large, appeared to not be overstocks. This store has one major issue compared to the Wilkes-Barre location. The Scranton Carbondale Highway is a heavy traffic area and accessing this store can be an adventure. The main access route to the store is a red light, leading to a poorly marked left turn, where you have to drive through another complexes parking lot. Leaving is either back through this complex, or an unsignaled exit on the side of a hill back to the Scranton Carbondale Highway that I do not recommend. Ocean State Job Lot falls into a discounter category that is not clearly defined. Ollie's Bargain Outlet seems to have better and more unique deals, but Ocean State is a lot cleaner. It's probably worth a stop if in the area.

I have a few pieces that I want to get rid of, so what better place to get "rid" of them than the garage sale store. I contacted the store and they told me to send pictures and a price for what I'd want. I did and was contacted a few days later. We agreed on $100 for all of the items. I felt that was a fair price and decided to move forecast with selling them. I loaded a few items in my car and drove to the store. When I got there I was treated rudely by the woman at the front and was told that Id be given $75 IF THEY WERE IN GOOD CONDITION, and Dominick left specific instructions that I was to be given $75 for all of the pieces. What happened to the $100 that he and I agreed on? I left with my items and told them that they practice bad business. This place uses perfect bait and switch tactics, thinking you won't leave without SOME MONEY. But I did. And it wasn't the $25 difference. It was the way they treated me and the way they inferred that I was lying about the original quote that "Dominick" gave me. Oh and - Dominick was not reachable by phone since he was "on the road" and most likely wouldn't answer his phone - yeah rigghhhttttt... Stay away from this place - unless you want to be ripped off and treated rudely and as if YOU are doing THEM a favor by shopping there.
