It literally was the place to be back in the day. I've seen the changes throughout the years, and I think it's still a great place to hang out. They've remodeled, and there are new stores and restaurants. There aren't many malls in the area now. There were other ones to visit back then, but they're all gone now. So, it's nice to know this one is still standing strong for the community. By the way, there are two Chick-fil-A's in the Mishawaka area. We prefer to come to the one in University Park Mall because it's less busy. Both are busy places, but this one isn't as congested. I'm also glad to see Barnes and Noble in this mall. With many book stores closing, I don't get to find one too often. On the weekends, it's hard to find parking, but honestly, it has been that way since I was growing up.

In the same time line witnessed another patron asking for help from someone wearing Meijer branded apparel. They were told " I'm on the phone" don't bother me. Welcome to the Oligarchy!

It used to be a great grocery store to go to , but then Walmart across the street closed. Then the…read moreriff raff from Walmart started going to Meijer. Theft went up which then they had to get security cameras put up in parking lot and extra security in store. Twice within a month I saw people stealing. First time some thug walking out with his arms full of beer and liquor. Second time two carts full of groceries and toys. Just walking right out like it's what they were supposed to do. It's probably why Walmart had to close. Theft. Meijer is now dirtier than it used to be. It's never stocked well. The produce department is sub par. And there's just loud and obnoxious people all over. I will say that the lady that is in charge of self check out is great. The people at the deli counter are nice as well.

It's not as big as the other TJ maxes you're familiar with if you're from a bigger city but it's a well-stocked nice little one with plenty of things to choose from. Parking is weird as there are a ton of stores around it so you'll probably have to walk a bit. You can walk in the store with your dog in your cart....i know this because i did it. However, it had still put a pending charge on my card, so I couldn't leave without my items I had possibly paid for. Ended up having to wait 45-60 minutes for the system to finally start working again, and the employees and managers were completely useless and unwilling to work something out. Once the system finally came back up, they scanned the items and made me pay again, and for compensation I got a lousy "sorry for the inconvenience."

They've even let me run in a minute before closing to grab a couple sodas. Always helpful too, even if the staff is short. They might not always have the Belvita breakfast bars I want, but knowing what to buy and when at all stores helps keep your budget in check. In response to the 1/5 review this store has, It's important to remember that not every store/location can accept Michigan bottle returns. The Martin's on 933 does have a bottle return system if you're looking for one. Also, remember to check if BCBS OTC cards are accepted at a store before attmpting to use one.
