Their prices compared to Walmarts are way higher...not a fan of the self checkouts...only if you have a few things they're ok...I think now that Niles is going to have an Aldi their will be a lot of ppl shifting their shopping towards Aldi...Martins won't be able to compete and therefore will lose customers. read more

Ari in hot deli is a very immature being. She was busy with another customer so I went around to the other deli section and asked for help. The girl ignored me. I said hey am I the only one listening here and she turned around and I asked for her help. Ari took offense to that said it was extremely rude and disrespectful and she would not serve me. She refused to get the store manager or the assistance store manager, and she made rude inappropriate comments about me to the customers she was working with they were giggling with her based on her immature sense of self-worth. I had to ask three people to get the store manager. One gentleman was polite enough to give me her name and her office. I happen to run into her by the meat section. She was very courteous very professional very respectful helped calm me down with her professional attitude. She is a good employee. Aria is an immature, poor excuse for a human being, forgetting that she is working a job where when I purchase things in the store helps with her salary. She needs to be taught. This is the workplace where she deals with a variety of people and not grammar school, where she can snicker and make fun of other people. The chicken dinner I ordered was not that good. I've had so much better food from Martin's. The potato wedges were undercooked. I thought it was getting green beans, but it was green bean casserole and it looked awful. read more

Stopped in here for Pizza at their Deli. WOW what a deal. This nice young man ( Cole) made my pizzas. He was engaging and super polite. Imagine someone under 25 asking if it was my first time at the store and telling me I could go prepay and then informing me to grab a bag as I was leaving because it was rainy. The Pizzas Were fabulous and there should have been a line for them!! Great price for a great product!! read more

Usually the staff and management are very nice and helpful. And I love the deli area. However, I went there a morning of last week and had a horrible experience with a deli worker in the aisle not far from the deli. I'd never seen her before but she came from there so I asked her a question about the deli, her reply was "I don't know I just wash the dishes". But she was very rude and dismissive and walked away without helping me find the correct person. I would give this review a 5 star but "Beth", as her name tag stated, was just so curt, rude, and dismissive. So, 3 stars it is. read more

Comparing Martin's to Walmart is probably a cardinal sin, but I feel I must do so to make a larger point. Think of the two stores as total opposites on a spectrum. On one end is Martin's who has a very high prices to pay for heavy staffing and a "luxury" experience (deli, grill, Starbucks, etc.); on the other end is Walmart who has very reasonable prices but is constantly understaffed and provides an underwhelming experience at best. I want a grocery store somewhere in the middle. I have no problem buying products that are modestly marked up to pay for adequate staffing and a reasonable checkout speed, but the current prices at Martin's are just absolutely unreasonable in my opinion. I don't understand how people with kids or retired seniors can afford to shop here. I look at some people's totals at the checkout lanes and think "Imagine how much money you could have saved by going to Walmart, and then investing the savings into an IRA." What if folks did that over the course of a year or even 5 years? That's why I hope Martin's finds a way to reduce the heavy staffing and lower prices to win back customers like me who do shop at Walmart 95% of the time because I want to just walk in, get my groceries, get out in a reasonable amount of time, and pay only the least amount of money possible. I don't use the pharmacy, I don't buy fresh flowers, I rarely go to Starbucks or eat at the Deli, I don't get muffins off the muffin cart; I'm not there for all those extra frills, and I hate paying a steep markup when for things I don't use. read more

The pharmacist is one of the rudest miserable human being I have ever met and dealt with. It's no wonder the techs who work with this guy seem absolutely miserable. I used the drive thru yesterday to pick up my husband's meds. I am getting a knee replacement surgery done, so it's hard for me to walk and I am wearing a knee brace. But this jerk got my adrenaline racing through my body, before I knew it, I was in the store looking for the manager. This is what happened......I drove up to the drive thru, I told the pharmacist who I was here for. He said just a minute. He came back on the speaker and told me the price of the scripts. I told him that I didn't want my husband's eye drops yet because his eye surgery isn't until next month. The doctor had called it in so it would be there when Kurt was ready to get it. This pharmacist says......JESUS CHRIST. I proceeded inside the store and confronted him. I got the manager. When the manager asked what was going on the pharmacist said to me....you are half correct.....I said what do you mean I am half correct.....he said I didn't say JESUS CHRIST, I said JESUS. Then he proceeds to turn to the miserable looking tech and said, she is my witness, she just heard me say JESUS.....I did not receive any apologies....nothing. My husband has been a customer for two years, this pharmacist has always been horribly rude, but this is where I draw line. After I grabbed the scripts and before I limped out, I said I will post my experience on every social media I can think of. Tomorrow I will be calling corporate. read more

This particular store is a bit smaller but Martin's has nice items you can't get elsewhere such as a really nice cheese selection and a great deli with hot items made to order. read more

Martin's has a dozen varieties of SLICED lunchmeat available to purchase by the pound. They have cheeses, dressings and a salad bar they keep stocked with fresh veggies, like lettuce, tomato, onions, green peppers, etc. Back to the women behind the deli counter- she says "Well, we have ready-made sandwiches down there" as she points to the far end of the counter. I ask again if they make sandwiches to order. She says "Well, they make the sandwiches early in the morning before we get here" I CAN'T get a straight answer as to whether or not Martin's Deli will make me a sandwich!!! I ask a THIRD time and now the women looks at a man (manager?) and asks him "Do we make sandwiches?" He looks at me and babbles something about "Well, it depends on if the ingredients are available (you mean like LUNCH MEAT AND BREAD???) or if it's sliced up, blah, blah, blah..." So, I say "Why can't I just get a Yes or No answer?" The man says "Well, we have sandwiches down there" as he points to the far end of the counter. I'm right back where I started. I'm already at Martins and I'm on my lunch break from work so I HAVE to get SOMETHING. I buy a ready-made roast beef sandwich, the beef is blood-red rare and the blood-stained bun is tough, cold and chewy. I ask the cashier to have the store manager stop by my table. "Bryan" stops by- he doesn't introduce himself (I got his name from the name badge), doesn't offer to shake hands- he just walks up and looks at me like I've interrupted his day. I tell "Bryan" the whole story AND HE STARTS GIVING ME THE SAME B.S.!!!..."Well, it depends on if we have the ingredients and what type of sandwich you want and blah, blah, blah..." I say "How about a tuna salad sandwich with lettuce, green pepper, and onion?" (ALL of these things are available for sale in the Martin's Deli) Bryan continues talking on and on as if he can't hear a word I've said. Finally I've had enough- Martin's has broken me. I tell "Bryan" the store manager, "Just forget it, I'm sorry I bothered you and your Deli people." Bryan continues, "And besides even if we have the ingredients we can't make a sandwich without a RECIPE...(???!) Now I start laughing- "Your PROFESSIONAL sandwich makers working in your Deli need a RECIPE to make a tuna sandwich???" Bryan: "That's right, we can't make anything in the Deli without a recipe" Finally I say "I'm sorry I even asked" Bryan smirks at me and walks away, from me his customer, without saying a word. The Martin's Side Door Deli is really great. For starters, they have an amazing salad bar with pretty much anything you could ever want on a salad right there. And at $4.69 a lb., it's very affordable. They also offer soups (the broccoli soup is great!), sandwiches, paninis, and fried chicken and sides (mac & cheese, potato wedges,etc.) They have quite a good size seating area, and offer free Wifi. read more

Great fresh produce, meats, breads etc... It may seem pricier than the wally world but the produce etc.. lasts longer, so you don't have the waste of throwing it out. Store is always clean and employees are very helpful and the lines are usually short. They actually open up more if they seem to be getting long . Great store. read more

I have complained several times to the staff at Martins about the low level of customer service while checking out. The cashiers always seem more interested in chatting with fellow co-workers then saying hello and thank you to me the working class consumer. On one occasion the cashier was "gossiping" to the bagger about how another co-worker is always "gossiping"? Hmm that's good service. I like to spend my money locally, not at the big box stores, but if I feel I'm not being treated with respect by the local guy why should I care if the big box stores put him out of business. Cheer up, greet your customers and remember it's your job!!! Your lucky you even have one....the American Dream is a privilege not a right!!!! read more
