I spent three hours getting a stripped oil bolt replaced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After admitting to the man with blonde hair and beard at the front desk that I had stripped the bolt and that it might be best to order a new one, he proceeded to sit in his phone for two hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The two customers that had come in before me had gone. The car that was let on the road before me the tech, man with long brown hair and scruffy facial hair, knew and spoke about missing parts (wheel bearing) inside the store with me and two other customers. Letting defective vehicles on the road is a big safety issue. Finally my car was pulled in. The bolt taken out and I had to sit another hour for it to arrive. I wrote previously about the bad experience I had when purchasing tires. During the same visit, I was told that I needed brake pads, but the estimate was $2k plus! He quoted a complete brake job, (rotors included) which I declined. So, 4000 miles later I took my car to another BigO to have my new tires rotated. Low and behold! My brakes are FINE! SCAM ALERT!!! SCAM ALERT!!!! Beware of Big O Tire, Leitchfield, Ky. They are attempting to scam us of our hard earned money. I had an oil change and tire rotation. The manager, Wendy Gonzalez, told me that my brakes had to be changed that very day. That my calipers were working overtime and I was at risk of my brakes locking up. That it would be dangerous for me to drive it with the condition that they were in. She pointed at the front of the store and tells me that a customer with the same brake situation drove through the building. I asked to see my brakes. When I looked, I was unable to see the thickness of the pads because the caliper was in the way. The rotor, to me, seemed thick and smooth. I'm feeling confused. What's wrong with my brakes again? The tech, Joseph Riggs, didn't point out any thing wrong. He just said that i needed pads and rotors. I go back in. I tell the manager I have a warranty on my brake parts and that I will wait on the repairs. She again stressed that it is dangerous. I asked her if she could show me what is wrong with them because I am not seeing it. She then takes me out to see my rotor, uses the tip of her pinki nail to point out a hair line on my smooth shiny rotor and proceeds to tell me that this is a bad rotor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ask her to put their recommendations on my ticket and I would be checking on my warranty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Remember, I could not see my pads. So, I have them taken off at home and wouldn't you know, my brakes are pretty much still brand new. The pads still have 90%. There are NO repairs needed at all!!! THIS IS SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES. When I arrived to pick up my Car there was a woman cussing at her in front the whole store . I almost stepped in because she wouldn't even allow the rep to speak without being belligerent. Lady if you see this then you should be ashamed !! It's evident your rotors are lined . If you would look it up online it actually says over compensated caliper compression does cause indents . I was done dirty. I got my Oil Changed by Big O tires. Then they told me I had a something knocking. but I told them it was my fan and pulley belt tensioner. Something I was replacing soon. Then the next day I was driving to a Military Veteran Event when I broke down 200 miles away. My Engine started to act up. So I immediately pulled over and saw oil was draining everywhere. Well, I was headed to an event with a lot of other Veterans so I called for a tow that day to sent my Car home. 1K tow bill. Then I went to the event and came home on that Sunday Night. I looked at the engine. The oil drain plug was missing. Monday I contacted Big O Tires and let them know of the situation. They wanted there Techs to look at it. But I told them I would like a reputable mechanic to look at it instead. The mechanic's conclusion was that Big Tires did not put the Drain plug on in Properly. I had oil all over the place under my car while I was going 70 MPH. I had Diesel Engine with 155k miles on it. There should be no reason my engine was acting up. Big O tires told me that they are not going to take responsibility for this. Because my time line did not add up. But I sent the receipts a few hours later and then Big O said their decision is made. I'm a fully disabled Army Veteran that fought in Iraq and Afghanistan as an Infantryman. This has set me back and now. I have no reliable transportation now. I'm headed back to work to pay for this. This is the 1st time I've ever been done wrong by a Company in the states. I just wanted to be done right. read more

It actually pains me to write this but I feel I need to vent my frustration, in an effort to spare someone else a similar poor business interaction. I have been using the Big O store in Leitchfield since June of 2022. I own a startup farm and we look for vendors we can work with as we grow. We chose Big O for our tire and vehicle needs. At the start under Savana who was the manager, things were great, she was very helpful and the staff was very courteous. We have a farm trailer that had 4 flat tires. I purchased one wheel from Big O and since they do not sell used tires I got them elsewhere and had Big O mount them. Not long after one went flat. I brought it in and it was recommended they install an inner tube; they had one in stock so problem solved. A bit time later a second tire went flat, again I took it in and there was a new manager who told me they cannot order inner tubes, fortunately a tech who was familiar intervened and showed the manager where they can get them, so he ordered it and when it came in they installed it, problem solved. Last week the last two tires went flat, I had my wife take them in and was told they cannot order inner tubes any longer but if we got the tube from tractor supply they would install it, I actually ordered it from Amazon. Today I dropped off the two tires and the inner tube and the lady behind the desk said ok. A short time later I got a call from the store from the clerk telling me the new general manager said they cannot install the inner tubes because it was illegal. I then was questioning that the store in fact did install two tubes earlier and last week what my wife was told. I could hear the GM in the background yelling at the clerk saying "it is illegal". I felt sorry for the clerk and asked to speak to the GM. When she got on the phone she immediately launched into a rant not even allowing me to speak. When she took a breath, I asked her questions in which she kept saying it was illegal and previous management should not have done the work. I told her about the conversation my wife had to which she wanted to know who she talked to. I told her I don't think she asked, again she blamed whoever it was giving bad information. I was to pick up my tires and inner tubes. Which I did. When I arrived at the store a tech was outside and immediately went to get my items. He apologized profusely and allowed me to express my frustration. He was very polite and understood my predicament. During my conversation a lady ( I can only assume was the GM) came out to give him paperwork and needed him to finish the conversation with me. She did not even acknowledge my presence. This person is the third manager for this location in three years. Her customer service skills are seriously lacking. At no point did she offer solutions, such as, why did I need the inner tubes in the first place. Perhaps they could try remounting the tires? She could have offered to sell my two used tires that might work instead of a discount on new ones, anything to solve my problem, she could have offered to reimburse me for the cost of the inner tubes. She did offer a complimentary oil change, however I get synthetic, and I pay $123.00 every time I go there, I doubt she was aware of that. Big O I think is amiss in their management recruiting and training. Clearly this person was lacking in customer issue resolution and the fundamental management training includes allowing the customer to vent and try do de-escalate the issue not enrage it. Finally, instead of passing the buck, she should have been the one to call me. I will be taking my business elsewhere, (since June 2022 I spent $1,611.00 at this store) I feel for the staff, they continue to be great, but I cannot count on management to allow commitments they do not keep. read more

I have a Chevy work van that I am about to sell but before doing so there are a few things that needed to be done. New tires, check engine light, tire monitor service message. First stop was to Big O Tires in Leitchfield Ky. I asked about the tire monitor service message on my dash and was told that a sensor was faulty. I asked how it could be verified and I was told that it had to be scanned. I asked how do I go about that and he said that he could do it. I asked how much it was and I was told that it was no charge, so I asked if he could scan it for me. I was told that it would probably be a more in depth problem because when the message comes on it means that one or more of the sensors was bad. I asked about resetting them and he again said that the only reason that the message comes on id that one or more of the sensors was bad. I asked how much it would be to replace a sensor and I was told $100.00 per sensor and that it could be one or more of them. He then said that if he started to check it that I needed to be prepared to make the repairs because he would have to pull the tires off from the rims to check the sensors. I told him that I would get back with him on it. The last words that he said was "Its a lot of money for a light!" . I thought its not just a light its also a message and all 4 of my tire pressures read -- instead of the actual pressure. So I went to Walmart, which is right down the street, and asked them if they could check it and they said yes. they pushed a button on the dash and them went to each wheel with some kind of tool to reset each sensor and guess what? it fixed it! I no longer have the tire light, nor the service tire monitor system message and all four wheels display the tire pressure. It took Walmart less than 5 minutes to fix it. I went ahead and let them do all of the other work since they had it in the bay. I couldn't be happier with Walmart and I am very disappointed with this Big O tire store. I have used Big O tires for years and this is the first store that I have been unhappy with. read more
