I have worked on and off with Big Orange 4-5 years. Its great that I can pick and choose what I want to work, and when. I have NEVER had an issue with payments, processing or anyone that's assigned me jobs. I've always been able to reach them via text, though sometimes I don't get an IMMEDIATE response, I hear back promptly. I love doing promos on weekends in liquor stores and bars, its a lot of fun and easy money! I have NO complaints about Big Orange, and im happy to be a part of this company! read more

Do not work for this company! I did everything I was supposed to in terms of filing paperwork, getting it in on the same day and never heard back from the booking agent when I had questions or when I received a threatening email threatening non-payment. Stay away from them. Completely uncommunicative, unreliable and unprofessional. I have been a brand ambassador for years and never dealt with such behavior. read more

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. If you are a Brand Ambassador avoid Big Orange, they do not pay you. I had two promos with them and all the equipment was all there and easy to set up. The prepaid card showed up on time and I had no issues. I'd submitted all of my paperwork and everything seemed on the up and up. When it came time to be paid they "lost my paperwork" and I had to re-send everything. They still didn't pay me and then asked me again to re-submit my paperwork. I've submitted 3 W2's at this point and 2 contracts. They keep losing my paperwork. At this point I know they will not pay me. You don't get paid until a month with this company. Finally when I was suppose to get my first check, which was 3 days before Christmas, No check. Left several messages...no one called back. I finally received it, 10 days later, I was shorted 200.00. I had to call and write daily to get it straightened around. Over the summer 2019, they missed a payment to me and said, checks in the mail. After a month of constant calling and emailing they sent me a really rude message that If I was paid duplicate, I would be prosecuted. I was just hoping to be paid once on time. Also, they gave us a credit card to purchase our event supplies, then decided they would go back to us fronting the demo food ourselves and they would pay us back. Now mind you it takes one month to be paid for each event. Events run anywhere from 10.00 to 100.00. I couldn't risk losing that much money from a company that doesn't pay for the work you did. read more

A great company to work for if u are a BA. I worked for them like 3 or 4 times. If you do what u suppose to, do the demo, write the reports and send them up when u suppose to, they will always pay u on time. The checks always get to me in 30 days. I wish I had checked the reviews BEFORE working for them. Talk about a lack of integrity and competence! I signed up to do a Planters demo at Walmart. I never received the kit in the mail with necessary items. I asked for guarantee that if I showed up to work I would get paid even if the Manager sent me home. They wouldn't do that & they said they were going to deduct $50.00 from my paycheck from my demo at PetSmart (I only get paid $60.00) if I didn't work. Then they locked me out of the job site & they will not respond to my texts. They owe me several hundred dollars, and I was scheduled to work this weekend...CRAZY. When I worked for them during the Hannaford Rewards Roll-Out, the booking agent, Jamie, was beyond unhelpful. Terrible company to work for! They hired me and the kit was delayed so I didn't have any of the stuff that I would need for the promo! I tried to tell them about that and they never answered my calls or emails and they told me I can work other dates if I can't make it but first I would have to let the owner of big orange know about that who by the way was away at the certain dates I needed to contact her! I did one demo for this company. I had a question before the demo -- it was never answered, and I have been unable to reach them -- no return phone calls, no responses to emails. I am scheduled to do more demos, but will cancel them because I have no hope of getting paid. Another catch-22 with this company is that you MUST cancel any scheduled demos by phone with your "booking agent" -- except that the agent NEVER answers the phone or returns calls. So you are charge $25 per cancellation for breach of contract, since you don't get paid for a demo for 30 days -- you don't get paid at all. DON'T use this company -- unless you enjoy doing demos for free. read more

Big Orange has always paid when they say they will, but there has been a change within the way things are going with the hourly rate within this past week. The rates have dropped across the board (I have no idea what is going on.....is it them..or the client above them doing this???) Rates for conferences and street teams seem to be stable or even rising in some cases in the promo world. I work for this company and they have helped me manage the care for my Mother, as well as the flex schedule I need ! I feel very rewarded for my effort and attendance . Everything will go well as long as you read the instructions for each event and make sure you can work once you apply for each gigg. This is a great company for a self starter and a person looking for a flex Brand Ambassador , Promo , Marketing position. The companies are fortune 500 and all appreciate great representatives coming into their store. I enjoy planning my work dates myself , instead of the pressure of working around a companies set hours and fixed dates . Big Orange has allowed me to pay for my home in another area , while taking care of my Mother and working near her home , or between my home and hers. If I could get away , I could pick up hours in Florida ir anywhere in the country , with Big Orange. The website is very easy to understand and book the dates you need, just keep everything on a calander and check the bulletin board daily . You can work other jobs during Mon - Thursday. read more

I have worked with a few companies doing demos and Big Orange has proven to be the worst of them. I agree with a couple other reviews out here that they are hustlers and there are pay issues. They want you to be "independent contractors" so they can delay your pay which means you have to be out of pocket on travel and supplies and product if you work on certain accounts which you have to buy out of pocket. Then they give you a hard time if you call mistakes to their attention. I was out of pocket for product on a large retailer and was told that receipts were not submitted. I know I submitted them and if I forget you can't check your documents once the paperwork goes into approval mode. If you notice there are wrong reimbursements or missing reimbursements, you get a bunch of snark. The reps who book the contractors to go out on the jobs are flaky. One person took a week or more to approve my job paperwork. After I wrote a bad review on them a supervisor finally scheduled my payment. Two other reps I also had issues with. One rep booked me well in advance of the job date when I applied. A week later I had a conflict and had to cancel. I sent email, left voice mail and contacted the office and then 3 weeks later got nastygrams that I did not do my job paperwork (when I had records of all the messages and notes that I canceled the job WELL before it was executing). When you bring up situations such as lack of response or lack of reimbursement, they are extremely unprofessional. I have had wrong reimbursements a few times. Also the job pay rates are getting lower. I have had jobs canceled on a whim with no explanation when I make comments about things like wrong reimbursements and asking why I wasn't being paid for supplies. This place is one hot mess. Most of the event locations are not well equipped and one place I worked used a different company. Now that they use Big Orange, you are left with all the old junk that is marked with another company's asset tags, to do your food prep. Nobody from Big Orange even went out there to assess the equipment situation and update carts, retag things, and be proactive so that the demo teams have what they need. This is just another company who contract out warm bodies to do the bare minimum to show product, and most likely make a hefty overhead taking advantage of the contractors and retailers. It's sad, really. I thought this place was different but it's just another wolf in sheep's clothing just like Adv*nt*ge and Cro***ark with its store demonstrator and sampling event program. read more

I've been with Big Orange since July of this year. Never had an issue. FYI if you have never worked for an event company before you might want to start with another company first. They don't train you because when you apply they assume you already know what you are doing. It is mostly on the job training and a lot of customer service is involved. You work on your own the majority of the time and you are your own boss. You are considered an independent contractor, that's why you sign an Independent Contractor Contract every year starting when you apply. You are also put into the portal where you can apply for jobs, confirm jobs, put your reports in and see when you will get paid. You really have to be on top of everything, They do not babysit you. There are also several people you can contact in the company if you have an issue. As of yet I have never had a problem getting my paychecks or getting work. read more
