It's a nice park but half of it is all sand. My dogs were so dusty. They grassy part was just so crowded i didnt want to engage with other people and dogs. There are some places where they can jump in a river but it isn't really convenient to have them jump in. They won't be fully submerged which is what I need. read more

3 fenced areas 2 that are sandy rough natural areas and 1 that is grassy with some trees for shade. A bit more clam and laidback compared to the busy Pine Nursery dog park. As some people have mentioned parking is occasionally a bit limited. read more

A hidden gem! Tough to find at first, but worth it! Looking at the map, the dog park is to the right of the fields. The signage isn't great, so you might drive in circles a bit. The park is a quick walk from the parking lot. Multiple fenced areas with double gated entrances. Some desert areas and grassy areas. Water is located in the middle area between the different fenced parks. Lots of trails throughout all the parks if you want your dog to take a break from playing for a bit. read more

Out of the few dog parks I have visited in Ventura county,Big sky in Simi Valley tops my list of favorites. It is absolutely beautiful and serene. The view from up there is great and because it's away from the hustle of the city traffic , it is quiet and you can actually hear the birds . It's completely gated and lots of space for your dogs to run and play .the Park district keeps the grounds and facilities in top order and if something is amiss , a quick call to the wonderful staff has always ensured a quick response! My only wish is that it was open later but there are no lights for night time use. read more

Without question, this is the best dog park I've been to with it's diverse terrain & large off leash areas for the dogs to explore. It was difficult to discern which area was explicitly for off-leash dogs & which wasn't since they have fenced and non-fenced off leash areas but I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the park and so did our pup although I have to admit that I got lost for a bit. Big Sky Dog Park is in the middle of a park where soccer and football are in play. Parking is in high demand during games. Park directly in front of field 5, sign is hard to find being blocked by two trees. Go to your right and follow the trail. Nice fenced in, off leash areas. First area is very dry and dusty but the dog was happy, and isn't that what matters? Double gate to get in is always appreciated. Second area is also gated, no leash with grass and trees. There is a port-a-potty located in the area along with fresh water and bowls (pans/buckets) for the dogs and water fountain for all others. The dog and I had a great time. All humans and dogs were well behaved and friendly making the park very enjoyable. read more

Nice big park with several fenced in areas, plus a pond that the dogs can play in. The one fenced in area is all terrain, rocks, bushes, brush and trees abound. The second area is grass with a couple of picnic tables. Lots of parking (except on weekends when youth sports are in action), clean and well-maintained facility. And not too crowded. The spaces are so large that there would have to be a lot of dogs to make it feel crowded. A bit of a drive and a bit of a walk, but a worthwhile destination. read more

I have had a beagle for over 5 years...and one thing about having a beagle is you can't trust them off leash. You want to trust them...you really want to...you train them to come back...but their nose wins every time. We go on lots of walks with the beagle...but dog parks are a necessity in our household. She LOVES to run...and she loves to run fast and play chase...so to be able to see her run in a safe place is wonderful! So in the 5+ years with my beagle I have gone to many dog parks. I can tell you about dog parks in NY, Chicago, SF but I have never been to a park like Big Sky. First of all, there are trees...in the park! It is not a concrete jungle, it is an oasis of happy happy dogs running through 3+ acres (soon to be more!) of Central Oregon landscape. There are trails! I can walk through the trails and watch my beagle weave in and out of trees, over rocks and then come up to me and tell me in her doggie way how happy she is. There is also a grassy part which is fenced in again so that the dogs stay together and play. Thumbs up to Big Sky! read more

Park your car at Ballfield 5 and then you can take the trail to the right to walk to the dog park. This is a 4 acres-ish 3-park area of Dirt and Juniper with two fenced in areas and an off-leash area that's not fenced in (near a tiny pond). Most of the fence is just basic wire and metal stakes. The most securely fenced area is the grassy section, the second one in. The two fenced in areas are about equal sizes, and there were big dogs in both sections. For the most part, the park is clean (4 piles of waste). My dogs were euphoric here, running in and out of the trees. A local woman told me the much better park in the area is 17 acres, all fenced in, and called Pine Nursery Park. Still this is impressive. read more

Stopped at this dog park as soon as we arrived in Bend, to let our little guy burn off some energy. This is one of the nicer dog parks we've been to. It's huge and plenty of room for the pups. There are also trails for humans to walk around and enjoy the outdoors while the dogs do their thing. We met some friendly folks during our brief visit. I took my dogs here last Saturday. We found the large fenced area. No other dogs were there when we arrived. There was a pan of water, but my dogs weren't interested. They enjoyed exploring the dry desert area and the grassy area. A couple arrived with their three dogs. All the dogs were mellow and got along fine. Overall l think this is a fun place to let your dogs play and we'll be back. read more

The Big Sky Dog Park is either a mud pit or a dust pit, depending on the weather. My dog picked up pink-eye twice and Campylobacter after playing in the park, so I will never go back to it. Since the dog park was built over 9 years ago, the banks of the nearby pond have eroded horribly from all the dogs swimming and playing. What used to be nice grassy banks are now gone. There are also some private homes situated near the pond where dogs can easily wander. Irresponsible dog owners have allowed their wet, muddy dogs to run onto these properties. Once, a large dog knocked down a toddler that was playing in the yard of one these properties. Another home owner has complained that the noise levels are unreasonably loud from dawn to dusk when the weather is warm. A muddy dog once jumped into a newly cleaned car that was airing out with its doors open. Needless to say, the property owners are not happy with the situation. The Pine Nursery Dog Park is a much better area for dogs to play. Located off of Yeoman Rd. and Deschutes Market Roads, there is so much more room and grass for the dogs to run on. There is also a beautiful trail around the park to walk and enjoy. It seems that much more thought went into designing Pine Nursery Dog Park versus Big Sky Dog Park. read more

We are staying in Bend for a month with our 3 dogs - 2 small toy poodle mixes and a Labradoodle. The unique features of this park met the exercise needs of all! There are miles of off leash trails and a huge grassy enclosed area. Plenty of shade trees and water for the warmest days. Hands down, the nicest dog park we have visited!
