We found this burger joint after a search on Google and we were NOT disappointed! I'll start by…read moresaying that I love burgers. LOVE them and finding a great burger is tricky sometimes. This place is in a mall and worth the visit! A huge shout out to the staff that were all working on Saturday, October 2nd in the afternoon. A group of us went together and we admit we were a bit of a tough group to get our orders in and organized. (There may have been some afternoon beverages involved for a few of them!) The staff were patient and really great! So thank you for dealing with us! :) We all ordered a variety of items from quarter pound burgers, Thanksgiving poutine, Pumpkin milkshakes, sweet potato fries and other items. All of us (6 people in total) really enjoyed our meals! I'll talk about my burger which was a bacon cheddar 1/4 pound burger. I loaded it up with chipotle mayo, LOTS of pickles, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. My burger was great! Really flavorful, great bun to burger ratio and they used the Villaggio Toscana Extra Soft Hamburger Buns. I also had the sweet potato fries and they were really great! Way better than most places. The only 2 things I wished were different about my burger is that I would have liked the bacon to be hot (it was luke warm at best) and if the bun could be toasted. But what I will say about the bacon is that it was cooked to the perfect level of crispness for a burger! (Obviously it was precooked and that's why it wasn't warm enough). The people that did have the thanksgiving poutine said it was amazing too! Our Pumpkin shakes were okay. I wouldn't get it again though. The Homestyle Poutine is the best in Calgary because they make dark, flavourful homemade gravy using all the burnt up burger scraps from the day before... mmm yummy. The thick shakes are delicious, there's really nothing to hate here, it's all love here and we will keep going back.

They almost need a bigger bun to soak up all the goodness, but I imagine they want the flavour of the burger to shine through! Which it does! I got the Whole Truck burger with almost everything on it and a poutine. The burger was massive! Due to its size it was a little unwieldy to eat, but I ingested that beefy madness like nobody's business. The poutine was large also and kind of reminded me of Costco's poutine in that it's good and hits the spot, but not memorable in the least. The fries are thick seasoned curly fries, slathered with vegetarian gravy, some stretchy cheese (not real squeaky curds) and in our Nashville chicken version, it also included fried chicken tenders and hot sauce. When eaten hot, it was good! It was hearty and savory without being too salty. We shared it amongst our group and it was just enough to tie our group over before boarding our flight home.
