We were so tired when we made it to the Hotel that we weren't thinking about taking pictures…read more The room was big we had the King Size Suite that had a pull out couch. The bedding was in the closet but I ended up sleeping on the couch without pulling out the full size mattress and I slept fine. They also have breakfast in the morning starting at 6am. You have to get down there early if you want to beat some of the truckers. We got downstairs by 6:15 am and headed to the car by the time we got back around 6:20 am the food was almost gone. Don't worry though the young lady made more but if you are on a time crunch be aware. They had eggs, sausage, potatoes, make your own waffles and more. I wasn't a fan of the sausage but hey everything can't be perfect. They say its complementary but trust its included in your room price. As always folks... Enjoy and be Safe!!!

The initial check-in went well. We asked for a first-floor room. All they had was a handicap room…read moreso they gave us that. It turned out to be a large room which was nice, except that the AC unit (which worked well) was on one side of the room, and the bathroom is on the other, so it did not cool the bathroom very well. The room had a good cold frig and decent microwave oven. In fact, the frig would easily freeze everything if we wanted which was great because that allowed us to actually set it where we wanted. (At the hotel I stayed at before Comfort Inn, you could turn the frig as high as it would go and your food would only be cool.) The bed was extremely comfortable - one of the best I have seen in a hotel. This is a minor point, but we found three crickets in the room during our stay - one in the bed which my wife was unhappy with. Crickets don't normally bother me but their chirping in the room did get annoying. Though the TV reception in the room was good, the TV remote was indecipherable and there was no printed channel listing in the room. When we asked the front desk for help with the remote, they told us that all of their rooms have a variety of different televisions and remotes and they didn't know which one we had, so they couldn't help us. One of the worst aspects of the room was the low water pressure in the shower which made getting ready each day pretty unpleasant. I will never understand why hotels try to save a few pennies on water and end up making their guest's entire stay unpleasant. We only tried the continental breakfast one morning, but it was decent. This Comfort Inn had a number of large semitrailer trucks lining the entrance of the hotel every night, and most of the parking lot was taken up by big work trucks making it feel more like a truck stop than a hotel. Every night driving into the entrance, I felt like a mouse among a herd of elephants. The final issue we encountered which confirmed my low rating of this hotel, is that they NEVER cleaned our room one time in the four days we stayed there. On day three, my wife asked them to clean it... but it was not cleaned. On the fourth day, after we had been gone all day long, I called the Front Desk from my car and asked them to make sure our room had been cleaned before we returned. The person I spoke with started explaining their bizarre cleaning schedule - they only do a light cleaning the first day, they do some other semi housecleaning service every other day, and I think she said a full cleaning only every fifth day - something like that. I emphasized to her again that we had been there 3 days by that morning, and no one had cleaned our room at all yet. She said she didn't think the room had been cleaned since we left either, that the housekeeping staff had already gone for the day and if we wanted to speak with the Manager, we would need to call him... NEXT WEEK! I was dumbfounded. Sure enough, when we got back to the room, we found it had not been cleaned. Fortunately, we had just that last night to get through, and so used what towels we already had and piled the trash up on top of the already full cans. The next morning, just as we were about to checkout, housekeeping knocked on the door and asked if we needed anything. Though the Madisonville Comfort Inn has a few positive areas, the shower water pressure, truck stop feel and non-existent housekeeping will keep me from ever returning.

I booked a reservation here today and the first time I could not reach someone. The second time I…read morecalled, someone picked up and I was able to get my reservation set for the next two days. When I got here, I found out that my room was a queen bed suite WITH A JACUZZI HOT TUB in a TV room (picture 22 of 79 on this Yelp entry). I felt like my bucket list had one more check mark. The lobby looks nice and they serve free popcorn! But then I found issues: The hotel room door is not properly set and so it rubs against the frame when closing it. This same thing happens with the bathroom door as well. The hot tub/ jacuzzi has three buttons, one of which was completely gone. The other two knobs, one was about to come off and the other just did not work. Luckily, this hotel is not on my dime, it is on my employer's; however, if I was a high tier rewards member and I got this room for points, I would be so mad! The area where the hot tub/jacuzzi is in does not have great lighting. One could sit in it and enjoy it if one allowed the sunlight to come in during the day; but there are no ceiling lights and the lamps, three in the room, are placed around the rest of the room as to not allow enough light to shine on the hot tub/jacuzzi part of the room. The room has a microwave and mini fridge, but no coffee maker! Good points: The cable is amazing though. Sports channels, Travel, History, etc. The suite has two t.v.s, one t.v. in the hot tub/jacuzzi part, which is a bit tough to turn on and find the cable option. One has to turn it on, go to live t.v. and press that icon. There are so many options as it has Roku, so Youtube, Netflix, etc, are at one's disposal (I just wanted regular t.v.). 10/01/2025 The breakfast this morning was not bad, but really minimum. There was gravy, biscuits, omelet du fromage (cheese omelet), bacon strips, and hash browns (look close to McDonald's ones). There is no prepackaged bakery products. They also have a make your own waffle section, yogurt in a fridge and a bowl of fruit (apples, oranges, etc.). I don't know, maybe that would be good for an economical hotel; however, I am used to seeing these items put in metal buffet containers (I guess to give the illusion that there is a lot of food). They also had one type of decaffeinated tea (which is great since I drink tea in the afternoon, but do not want to be awake all night) and hot chocolate packets (some generic brand of which I still have to do my research to find out). They had one green tea bag, which means they will have to replenish those soon? I want to really see if this hotel will rotate into some other items tomorrow. I will update. Coming back from my business trip from another city, later today, I had asked if they kept coffee machines in the rooms (I ended up getting another room because of the broken jacuzzi/hot tub) and this hotel does not keep any. The only way to get hot water is by the breakfast area. If it ends up finishing, one must tell the front desk. I needed my decaffeinated tea and this is one workaround I had to confirm. 10/2 So I checked breakfast today and they do not really rotate, as much as, make things look a bit different. I mean they had sausage links instead of bacon strips, which was a nice change. They still had biscuits and gravy and they still had the hashbrowns. They had scrambled eggs (probably egg beater) instead of the omelet with cheese they had yesterday. The room I had did not have any issues, it was more of a bummer that they could not find me an equivalent jacuzzi/hot tub room when I had told them the issues of the one I was in for the first night. Well, I hope they ended up fixing the jacuzzi/hot tub so a rewards member can at least get their points worth.

Recently finished our stay at Days Inn in Madisonville, and our experience had its pros and cons…read more As a whole, the hotel did what it was meant to and gave us a place to stay while in town. I figure the best way is to organize this in list format: Cons: - I wasn't SUPER impressed with the customer service we received at any point other than check out. At check in and when our room keys didn't work, we stood at the desk for 10-15 minutes before someone assisted us. Investing in a bell at the desk would take care of that, for sure! - The complimentary breakfast was pretty lackluster in comparison to other Days Inns we've stayed at. - The side doors around the building did not require a room key to enter, which was a tad concerning security-wise. - Upon check in, parts of our room didn't seem to have been cleaned. There were some black stains on our pillowcases, as well as crumbs in our bed. - A few of our outlets didn't work in our room, so my phone charged in the bathroom, lol. Pros: - Free parking that was more than accessible. We never had to park far from an entrance. - The pool is AWESOME. They aren't lying when they say "Olympic Sized". Try to make time to swim if you're staying there - The location is great, and close to mostly everything. Like I said, Days Inn did what it was supposed to do. The price was a plus, too, and I would say we got what we paid for. Definitely a no-nonsense hotel that I'd stay at again.
