I thought of all the regular places I took my previous cars and then I thought, why not try Ultra Tune... they had a shop in the Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre car park and was nice and convenient, close to where I lived. I rang them up and spoke to Shane the owner, he was friendly, very helpful and was very up front about the costs of the service and what the process would be. So book my Lamby (car pet name) in I said. The same day I rang, my car was booked in. The car was serviced, wheels were shined and the interior was vacuumed. I picked the car up without any delays, they rang me to let me know what was happening and they rang me to let me know my car was ready to be picked up (simple things like this usually have gone overlooked in my past experience). I picked my car up and Shane was really professional, told me he ran the Ultra Tune in Darra and had waited 15 years to get the spot in the shopping centre, only moved in 6 months ago. He was down to earth and the prices were very reasonable. The battery we had to purchase was $100 cheaper than what RACQ had charged me previously and the service was a good $100 cheaper than the next quote I got. The workshop was clean, well looked after and everything was new. I am definetely impressed with the personal service I received, the friendly attitude and the efficiency of the servicing of my car. I am definetely taking my car back there the next time I need to, and maybe I can learn a few pointers. Plus, I am a big supporter of local business. A wheelin' good time.

Being a female, its really hard to find a mechanic that will actually do the job they're supposed to do and I have had some pretty bad experiences with dodgy mechanics. They're a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and they explain everything without making me feel like a silly girl who doesn't know anything about cars. I've never had a problem with any of their work. They're also really close to Milton train station so its convenient to get to work once you've dropped your car off.

I do have to add a disclaimer that the extended time may have been my fault, as I was asked if I needed my car back by a particular time and I made the potential mistake of saying I had the day off and was going to wander around the suburb, "so no hurry". I was advised that I'd get a phone call before any work above and beyond the service's standard labour was done - "should be soon, around an hour or so". Three hours later (when I was a bit done with wandering) I figured I'd better call them, in case they'd gotten my number wrong or their calls hadn't been going through while I was burning through data on my phone, or some other excuse. No worries, hey! They only just had my car up on the blocks. Again, like I said, I will claim responsibility for the delay. Make sure you give ABS a pick-up time and I reckon everything should be fine. I was quoted decent prices (eventually, but still in advance) for the additional stuff my car needed, the gents were all lovely, and in the end the timing turned out quite well for me - I got the "come and get it" call just as I'd finished lunch. I would definitely entrust my car's servicing to Bob and the crew at ABS Woolloongabba again.

From their old location to this one (this one with benefits of James Street being so close) I have kept coming back. This week we just needed one tyre done, but as usual the price is more competitive than some of the *other* big name tyre places. Easy to book in and go for a 30 min walk, grab a coffee, bite to eat and come back to all done! Greg and all the staff are terrific. Friendly, helpful and usually my car is ready sooner than they say. Always get great quality Bridgestone tyres that are fitted well. No pushy add on sales pitches either. Just honest, good value service and products. If you live in the area, this is where you should go for Tyres!!

Was not very happy with the aircon, it smelt funny, like really old damp dust, which it did not do before. It was mentioned that the cabin filter had been cleaned also. We took it to another place, closer to us, for the 186,000 oil change, it was discovered that there was not even a cabin filter in the car. Rang the owner at BAM and he said let me look into this and will get back to you, which he did. Traced the job back and found that it had not been done, empolyee on last week of job, he promply refunded the money for that and we are very impressed with all he did for us.
