Bayside Family Cars
This place no doubt has one of the baddest reputation in bayside after hearing remarks from work…read morecolleagues, friends and neighbours after I unfortunately purchased a vehicle from them. As a profound deaf person, they loaned me an automatic car whilst undergoing finance. When I set off, I left the handbrake on by accident, and not being able to hear. In less than 20 second I realised my mistake. This was most unfortunate on my deafness. The initial problem was I was discriminated by the staff there, the main person being a guy named Philip. They tried to scam me for double the amount of money on one tyre that had flat spots and wanted me to pay for two. Fortunately I have evidence of the tyres, and also a voice recording from when me and a friend when to resolve this issue, to which at the stage Philip imitated / mocking a deaf person. As well as telling me to f*ck off. The owner Craig was aware, however showed no interest in this. They also withheld the vehicle registration from me for 2 months threatening I had to cough up first which I should also emphasise is illegal. A senior constable from Capalaba a Police Station had to enforce action on Bayside Family Cars. Upon a telephone call, I was told that they had sold the premises as of 30th April, and Craig (owner & dealer) had no idea of Philips whereabouts. Craig has now opened a new car dealership trading as 'Raby Bay Car Sales' on Shore Street, Cleveland. I would certainly think twice before purchasing anything from them in good faith. Unfortunately, this has also led me to filling out a anti discrimination case against the company. Stay well clear!

I am happy to say that Aussie Auto on Pickering Street in Alderley is definitely one you can trust, just good old fashioned honest and reliable service. The team here are very pleasant and really flexible! I don't know how many times I have booked my car in for a service and then had to cancel/reschedule at the last minute. I have a Rav 4 and a standard service for me usually costs around $140 and includes a full inspection of the vehicle, a minor detail, engine de-grease and car wash! The little extra niceties make all the difference.

They do good, well priced mechanic work, but they also sell car parts at very cheap prices (cheaper if you're trade). Also his apprentice acknowledged me straight away when I came in to pick up my car, which shows good customer service skills. Because of the national brand accountability is a certain. Excellent clean workshop with people who know what they are talking about and not trying to rip you off. A full list of works is supplied with every invoice showing you exactly what was done, they also call you should you require any further work before proceeding for acceptance of cost associated. So I drove out to them, and whilst the right person wasn't there to give me a quote, they took pictures and emailed me a quote a couple of days later. It took me a couple of months to get around to getting the car repaired, though they were still happy to honour the original quote. I sent them an email, and they said that I could drop off the car the next morning, and were able to have the repairs completed within 3 days, just before I needed the car for a trip. I did get a second quote from a panel beater closer to where I live, though this ended up being $600 more expensive. I am very happy with the quality of the repairs carried out, and they were also nice enough to clean the exterior of my car. I wouldn't hesitate recommending their services.

I do have to add a disclaimer that the extended time may have been my fault, as I was asked if I needed my car back by a particular time and I made the potential mistake of saying I had the day off and was going to wander around the suburb, "so no hurry". I was advised that I'd get a phone call before any work above and beyond the service's standard labour was done - "should be soon, around an hour or so". Three hours later (when I was a bit done with wandering) I figured I'd better call them, in case they'd gotten my number wrong or their calls hadn't been going through while I was burning through data on my phone, or some other excuse. No worries, hey! They only just had my car up on the blocks. Again, like I said, I will claim responsibility for the delay. Make sure you give ABS a pick-up time and I reckon everything should be fine. I was quoted decent prices (eventually, but still in advance) for the additional stuff my car needed, the gents were all lovely, and in the end the timing turned out quite well for me - I got the "come and get it" call just as I'd finished lunch. I would definitely entrust my car's servicing to Bob and the crew at ABS Woolloongabba again.

I recently had problems with my Rav 4 - it was making some pretty terrible noise and running like a hunk of junk! I took it into the guys at Stop Masters and they gave it the once over. Initially the diagnoses was not good - there were major issues with the engine and they thought I may have to replace it! Expensive much!! Luckily, Darren used his skills to avoid having to undergo this costly procedure. He pulled apart the engine and cleaned it all out, he took pictures of all of the dirt and grime which had built up on the engine and talked me through the steps he had taken. After all was said and done I was only out of pocket $800 - this was a great compared to the $4,000 it would have been to replace the engine! So grateful that they looked at the option that would benefit the customer most - not the business.

Then they extended it by another week, making it three weeks. After that, they deferred it by yet another week. Today, they are saying it will be ready next week, which will make it a total of five weeks. This kind of service is unacceptable. They don't seem to know when they can finish the task, and if that's the case, they shouldn't have taken the car in the first place. For the first two weeks, they blamed RACQ, claiming that approval was delayed. But what are they doing now? They've deferred the completion three more times since then. Last week, they said the car was painted and needed to dry, and it would be delivered this week. Today, they're saying the same thing again--that it's painted and needs to dry. This is absolutely absurd and frustrating.
