This was the first time staying at a motel in Sydney, but it came with a mini-fridge, hot water kettle, toaster, microwave and serving ware for two. On check-in with the friendly Aussie reception, we received a pint a of milk for our tea. Free milk? Even if we are out in the mountains, this is a civilized place ;) Oh and the hot breakfast was amazing. Motels in the States are quite different, but to be fair, the room prices were much closer to a lower end hotel. Make sure to ask about WiFi password, and how to turn on the electric blanket before reception closes. It was unseasonable chilly, and were too lazy to figure out night reception, but luckily we got the radiator to work. FYI, the phone didn't connect to anything, but we (typical Americans) had a good laugh at the STD line sign. Turns out STD stands for the state run telephone service. Definitely recommended!

Aggi and Marga own the B&B and are perfect hosts giving us plenty of space and time to explore but always there to provide local info on walks and shops. The barn has an open plan kitchen, lounge, dining downstairs with a small bathroom off to the side and a big bedroom upstairs. The gas fire and a massive selection of DVDs and board games kept us amused on a rainy Christmas Day while we ate our way through the supplies we brought up with us. There's limited cooking equipment and the 'breakfast' component is a wealthy way to describe 9 eggs and a jar of fig jam. None the less, we enjoyed our time up here and would definitely stay again.

You know those water saving shower heads that shoot three little jets of water at your skin at high velocity? This was definately not one of those! A nice wide, square modern shower head, at a good comfortable height and a soothing gentle torrent of water were what greeted me in the morning when I went to take a shower. So nice to have a great motel shower for a change. All in all this was a really nice place. Wouldn't even hesitate recommending this place to anyone! It is so nice when a motel just gets it right!

We stayed at this lovely place for two nights on our first visit to the Blue Mountains and both John and Sipha made sure our stay was as comfortable and homey as possible. It made us glad to be there at night after a whole day of trekking. Their installations are the perfect balance between classic home feeling, and high end customer satisfaction installations. They even have their own small cinema for those cold nights you want to keep warm and relaxed! Breakfasts were always nice, sharing the morning with the hosts and some other guests. They provide a lot of information and help to make sure every guest enjoys their stay at their home. Next time I go to the Blue Mountains, I'm not even going to look at other places. We'll go straight to the Katoomba Manor. Highly recommended

King size beds are lovely, although the sealed under blankets lead to sweating and sticking to the bed overnight. If a hotel promises services in their compendium (wines and reception hours, for example), then they should be abided to, or guests informed otherwise.

Veronica is an amazing host, friendly and also meticulous about all aspects of our stay. The breakfasts were completely delicious, and very filling, and fueled us well for our walks around Katoomba. The rooms are very comfortable, and each has its own private spa bath and toilet, which is a must for us. The location is right across the street from Echo Point, the lookout to the Three Sisters, so the views are incredible. Surprisingly, there is very little noise from all the daytime traffic, and at night it is very quiet and peaceful.

We both took turns soaking in the spa tub and sitting outside watching the birds fight over the feeder. There were two additional rooms and a sitting area, so if you've got more than two people i certainly recommend booking this for a group.
