We were able to find a good price on agoda.com that had a Queen Bed and full "Australian Country Hot Breakfast" ($12/person value). This was the first time staying at a motel in Sydney, but it came with a mini-fridge, hot water kettle, toaster, microwave and serving ware for two. On check-in with the friendly Aussie reception, we received a pint a of milk for our tea. Free milk? Even if we are out in the mountains, this is a civilized place ;)
Oh and the hot breakfast was amazing. Motels in the States are quite different, but to be fair, the room prices were much closer to a lower end hotel.
Make sure to ask about WiFi password, and how to turn on the electric blanket before reception closes. It was unseasonable chilly, and were too lazy to figure out night reception, but luckily we got the radiator to work.
FYI, the phone didn't connect to anything, but we (typical Americans) had a good laugh at the STD line sign. Turns out STD stands for the state run telephone service.
