I love Dr. Mimi Hoang. I've been to a couple different dentist office since moving here in 2019 and…read moreI have finally found my dentist. She's so down to earth, caring, wants to make sure you are okay and will even provide a blanket if you're cold. On top of that I explained that my insurance only covers a max amount per year and wasn't in a place to cover any extra expenses so they made sure to work within my insurance to take care all the necessary procedures needed so I wouldn't be stuck with a huge bill. Love that I'm a person to them not a dollar sign.

Dr. Jennifer Hughes and our hygienist, Debbie were both very friendly and professional. A "comprehensive oral exam" was $73 not including x-rays. Because of several cavities (which were only apparent on the x-rays), I came back to get them filled and had no problems. I was a little skeptical because I couldn't see one or two of the cavities (even on the x-rays she showed me), but the cavities were very small. I guess I should leave that to the professionals! They said my husband had no cavities so I trusted them that mine were real. I thought it was a little odd that they didn't use a panoramic x-ray like my old dentist. I didn't see the machine there so I am not sure if they don't have one or if they just prefer other types of x-rays. Instead they used bitewing x-rays (which were fully covered by my insurance) and periapical x-rays (that were not fully covered by my insurance). I kind of wish they would've told me that before they started snapping away at some special problem teeth that me and my husband had. They were very good about showing me the x-rays on the monitors and explaining to me how they interpret them. Their office is very clean and bright and they layout of the exam rooms is very open.

Those with dental issues, prone to cavities, or in need of dental work- beware!…read moreI really question if most of the 5 star reviews are real. I mean truly, this is NOT a 5 star place. Here's an overview of my experience: The office is clean, the front desk staff members are friendly, the hygienists are kind and gentle. I transferred here from another very popular local dentists office, after they neglected a broken filling that caused me pain, HOPING for better results. Each encounter I had with Dr. Henderson left me unsure. His bedside manner was very lack-luster. He didn't explain things, and to me, seemed like he was trying to find a "quick fix" type answer. He has often dismissed remarks I've had of being in pain. It didn't become a real issue until I had my first procedure done by this office, a filling. In November, I had complained of pain in the upper right side of my mouth, which had been a problem area before. I showed him that my back tooth was visibly dark under my filling. He did an x-ray that showed the dark area under the filling- OK... He decides "it's a reservoir and is standard. I'm not worried about it" So I ask, "should I get the dentist that did the filling to confirm/deny that?" And he very confidently says "That's not necessary, I'm telling you that's what it looks like." They then decide to do a filling between that tooth and another, saying that the pain could be coming from a cavity between the teeth. The filling was done in November. He put his weight on my jaw the whole time, cut my gums, and sent me on my way. But it felt off. I realized I was not able to floss between the teeth, and made a follow up appointment to have that fixed. He takes a look, which is VERY obviously two teeth fused together, and says "Just means I did a great job keeping the teeth close together!!! You want that" A quick Google search will tell you that it's not a "happy" accident and is an ERROR. He sawed the teeth apart, then forced floss down between the teeth which felt similar to hitting an exposed NERVE, actually shocking me. I voiced HOW painful it was and he repeatedly told me "have a great day" while the assistant tried to reassure me it was normal. Weeks go by, and they do a bite tap appointment because I AM STILL IN PAIN. I wondered why they didn't do it after the filling which has always been standard at ANY other dental office, but ok, they do it... well, the assistant does it. The area slightly improves, and when I call a 3rd time to ask about it, they tell me "the filling was flawless, you just need extra strength numbing mouthwash". They tell me that I have to get another filling on the bottom left. Well, it's now February, and I cannot fully chew on my right side, so I can't get a filling on my left. Frustrated, I seek a second opinion. This new dentist was THOROUGH, KIND, and INFORMATIVE. The bottom left spot is not bad enough to warrant a filling yet according to them. The dark tooth I mentioned before? Decay. I call the dentist who did it and they say they did not create a reservoir, so that's a double confirmation. And surprise! I also have a BROKEN FILLING that my most recent Terrace Hill x-rays actually SHOW! Oopsie! And also, a dentist not familiar with commonly used dental products, such as nano-hydroxyapatite (he didn't know what it was and called it abrasive), shouldn't pretend he knows and tell a lie. He should say "I don't have enough information to say I have an opinion". Bottom line, this dentist misses real problems and would rather do fillings that may or may not be necessary than truly help you find the root cause of your problems.

I paid in advance for services as part of my treatment plan that was estimated that my insurance wouldn't cover. After my first visit I was not impressed but decided to give them another try since I had prepaid for my services. After my next visit I knew this was not a place I wanted to continue my services. I emailed the office manager and expressed my concerns and requested a refund for future services. I was met with resistance and no resolution. It feels very misleading and unprofessional to keep being told different reasons for holding more than $2k in funds. They are sticking to my insurance is still pending even after I called with the insurance company on the line that confirmed all claims had been paid AND sent them copies of the EOBs. The level of customer service from the doctors and staff was unacceptable. There was a clear lack of communication, professionalism, and concern for patient care. I did not feel valued as a patient at all. Dental care is something people trust providers with, and unfortunately, that trust was not respected here. I strongly encourage anyone considering Aspen Dental to do their research and proceed with caution. VERY DISSATISFIED!!!!!
