We could not possibly be more pleased with her professionalism, attention to detail, personal touch, and overall cheerful demeanor. Every step of the process was stress-free, and Elissa even went above and beyond on several occasions by mailing us chocolate (always a plus), and helping us get an idea of what to expect from other parts of the wedding planning process completely unrelated to photography. Beyond her incredible diligence (all of our wedding photos were edited and posted online before we returned from our honeymoon), Elissa is also a very talented photographer who is very light on her feet. For the most part, we hardly noticed her presence (with the exception of some great, and amusing direction during the crazy family formal shots), but the photos indicate that she has a way of being everywhere at once! My mother-in-law actually expressed concern on the wedding day that she thought the entire ceremony had only been photographed from behind my wife, such that there would be no photos of her face during a very emotional event. When I saw that there were in fact gorgeous, artful and intimate photos from just about every angle--I was relieved and elated that my MOL's worries were proven to be baseless (aren't they always? haha). I am a writer and my first book (a YA novel) is coming out in the fall. I didn't want to include my pic on the book, but the publisher insisted. He also insisted on a professional pic. I chose Kelly after seeing her great Yelp reviews. And she has earned all the praise, and more! Even before I met her for the photo shoot, she was awesome-- kind, responsive, helpful, warm (and sometimes it's hard to be all that just over email). We ended up meeting at Overlook Park in GT for the shoot, and she encouraged me to bring an extra outfit if I wanted to change (b/c I got 2 different poses). Not only is she just as nice, warm, kind, gracious, and attentive in person, she is incredibly skilled as well. She put me at ease SO quickly (I was SO nervous, y'all!! I'm a writer b/c I want to stay hidden in my words...i don't want pics of me!), and before I knew it, I was actually having fun!! I couldn't believe it. That is a gift Kelly has, knowing what each person needs and then being able to adapt accordingly. I'm so grateful I met her. So the shoot was great, but then I got the proof gallery with SO many shots I loved (it was hard to select just 2, much to my amazement...I had thought I'd have trouble picking one b/c I typically hate pics of myself). So that process was awesome, and then she sent me the edited shots and I marveled at her great skill as an artist. Really, she has such an eye for the art of photography at every single level. I am so happy with the pics, and my publisher is too (and I've gotten compliments on them from others on social media, etc.). Yay and thank you, Kelly! I am telling all my writer friends about you, and you will be the only photographer I will ever call. We found Kelly online by accident and are so thrilled that we did! We met with Kelly to go over budget and our vision for our pictures at the beginning of the year. Not only did Kelly work with our budget but she drove down to Houston (where we live and work like crazy) to take our engagement pictures! She helped us with our unique vision for those pictures and the results were amazing! For our wedding Kelly came early and stayed late. She put up with the heat and got every shot we wanted, all by herself. She wrangled our family and friends and was friendly but professional the whole time. She worked well with our videographer, whom she had never met. WIthin 24 hours she had sneak peeks of our pictures up- and when I say sneak peeks, I mean 160 beautiful, perfect pictures ready to go! The rest are supposed to be ready within the month. I can't wait to see what she has for us! I found Melissa through online searching and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly she responded to my inquiry for engagement photos. We met in person, checking out her portfolio and my husband and I agreed she was the style we were looking for. Getting our actual engagement shoot done was a bit of an adventure due to schedule conflicts and weather (yaaay, Texas!), but we got them done in the end and they turned out awesomely. Melissa was very sweet and professional throughout all of our communication. I had been using pinterest for ideas on poses for the wedding day and she was very open minded and flexible to the ideas I had. She even did a few of the ones I had on my pinterest page! :) Our photos were done within about 2 weeks from the wedding (some of my friends were waiting months for theirs, yuck!), and they were exactly what we hoped they'd be.
