It is more expensive than your usual gym and you can't just rock up when you want. You can only go to classes. Which can be signed up for using the app. You can also see what the work out of the day is on the app. The facility is simple and clean. There is one shower in each changing room. They guys know their stuff here. And give you helpful tips to improve your performance. There are also special classes that you can sign up to from time to time. Such as pull up progression. Costs £70 to go 3 times a week. £90 for unlimited I think. Each class has max 15 people. There are plenty of classes during the day to choose from.

I have been here for nearly a year and not once have I seen any of the equipment out of order (which frequently happened in the more expensive neighbouring gym) I honestly thought when I had joined and being a budget gym, that it would all go downhill after opening but it had only recently been re decorated. Loads of equipment and plenty of machines. Good lightening too. There's a huge variety of classes both instructor led and virtual ranging from 6am right up too 9.30pm. Around 98% of the classes are included in the price! Pre booking classes is very easily done through the pure gym app. This gym does not have a pool/sauna etc which suits me and there is no cafe bit does have a reasonable seating area with vending machines containing drinks and protein needs. What more could you ask for? £18.99 a month, no sign up fee and no contract, this gym has high standards for its very little price

However if normal gyms intimidate you, this may be your starting place. It's small and quite and no judgments over your work out. They provide some great classes with positive and helpful teachers. Yoga here is especially excellent. I have been to a few yoga classes in my time and I've learnt more here than anywhere else. Good practical tips and they don't push you belong your limits. The pool is small with no deep end. But its perfect the for a morning swim. Again it's a bit run down, which can be a tad frustrating considering this isn't a cheap gym. The hallway to the pool constantly smells bad. The showers and changing rooms are clean, but old. Most keys have lost the scrappy bit for your arm so bring a pin as well as your pound to pay for them. Personally I am willing to put up with all the negatives as this gym as what's most important to me, a pool I can do lengths in with no interruption and no que for machines!

I've been a member for just over a month now and I love it - honestly the best gym i've ever been a member of, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Best way to go beyond the status quo and get those 5 stars is to have real people casually helping out and advising folk, who might be new to it all. Radical idea! I know it means paying more salaries but the benefits of having spotters and specialists there in hand will mean more gym attendees in the medium to long term. My two cents worth!
