Had talked to a gentleman about buying a new 2024 Ram 3500 for the price of $56,604 on a Tuesday afternoon. After driving 2 hours, we arrived at the dealer and said they couldn't honor the price we agreed upon that it was $65,000 now. So after I began to walk out the door, they brought the price down to 63,000. I still wasn't satisfied they didn't honor the price we agreed upon and went home. Then they decided to bring the price of the truck down to $61,000. This dealer was just trying to pocket the rebates Dodge was giving them. Buyer beware! They sell over priced lemons that stay in the shop for months. They give no updates on your vehicle. Don't answer calls and don't acomidate you a loan vehicle while they "repair" yours. When you show up in person the guy at the desk walks to back for 30 minutes at a time in an attempt to avoid and dismiss a line of upset customers. Worst experience with any dealership. read more

Please avoid BILL PENNY car dealerships. This summer I bought a right-handed Jeep from Bill Penny in Jasper. It was for my new job postal job as a rural carrier. They assured me everything was fine as they ran it through the shop and checked everything out on it. That was a lie as far as I'm concerned. They lied about checking the brakes on it as I had to have new back brakes and rotors within a month of owning it. The salesman even lied about features the vehicle had. Since August I have had to spend thousands of dollars on it as it continued to break down. It is back in the shop again for about $3,000 once they fix everything wrong with it this time. Bill Penny will offer no help despite acting like they will every time I call them. The salesman, after we finished the original deal, even insulted and made fun of my dad for wearing a mask. Or "diaper" as he called it. He did this on the showroom floor in front of everyone. We talked to multiple people at the dealership about it and they laughed it off. We have had no apology from the salesman and nothing was done about it. Though one time the salesman sent a "personal" video in an email and when I went to open it, it was just a link to a sales event they were doing. So please avoid BILL PENNY dealerships at all costs. read more

Buyer Beware! So, on April 20th, 2023 Josh bought a 2018 Chevy Tahoe at Bill Penney Dodge in Jasper. Within two days, it was at their service department because I was traveling down the interstate and tried to use cruise control, and the traction control and check engine lights came on and started to flash. I immediately turned the cruise control off. This was on a Saturday. Josh called the person we bought the car from, and he said bring the car in on Monday. I did let them know that after that incident, I noticed that it was having an issue shifting. I took the car in on Monday, and they said they couldn't find anything wrong and no codes showed up. Within 2 weeks, I took the car back to the shop again for having issues shifting. Again, I tell them I literally just had to replace the transmission in my GMC Acadia, for the exact same reason, and that the transmission is going out. It's shifting hard, and it's having a hard time with acceleration. I get the same response, that they can't get it to duplicate anything I'm describing to them. Maybe the 4th time is the charm, right?! Wrong!! Car goes back, again. Same issue. Still can't get the car to duplicate anything I'm saying. I'm sure they think I'm crazy! By this time, I'm starting to think I'm crazy myself! I go back a 5th time! Now they keep my car, for a week! Mind you each time they keep my car, they don't put me in a loaner vehicle, nor do they offer me any help finding one. They say they aren't set up for that. ‍ They told me I'm able to go to Bill Penny Toyota and rent one.The cheapest one they had that could accommodate what I needed was $98 a day. They had my vehicle a week this time. The service tech (he has a Tahoe, so that's why they wanted him to be the one to work on it) went to a class for 2 days, so that's what the week delay was. Once again, they couldn't find anything again wrong with the car. A week later on June 23rd, we are stranded in Tuscaloosa with a car full of kids because the transmission has completely gone out. Driving down the interstate, the car starts to shift terribly and then starts to double shift. Getting off the interstate, the car is barely going 17mph. The check engine light comes on, then the traction control light comes on, then the transmission temperature light comes on. Thabkfully, I have AAA and the car was towed to Carl Cannon in Jasper. My car was towed on a Friday night, so Saturday morning I called Bill Penney Ford to see if maybe possibly they would set me up with a rental car. I explained the situation to them, and the man I spoke to was extremely rude and said I don't even understand why you would bring a Chevrolet to a Dodge dealership for service to begin with. I told him my car wouldn't be back there and it was at Carl Cannon now because clearly they couldn't figure out what the issue was. BUT we bought the car there, and it had been having issues since 2 days after we had bought it! I told him I really wasn't in the mood for a nasty attitude, and two could play that game. We ended the conversation. Within 5 minutes, my phone rang, and it was him saying he pulled up the service contract, and we had purchased an extended warranty (which I knew). He said he said he would have someone from the service department call me Monday to coordinate with me and that they would help me get it fixed. I never heard from anyone in the service department..... We did purchase an extended warranty on the vehicle. Carl Cannon did determine that it was the transmission on the Tahoe. The extended warranty company did come out and verify that it was the transmission and offered to put a used transmission in it that already had 70,000 miles on it. The other option was to give us a credit towards a new transmission. We opted to go for a new transmission, because obviously I do not want to be in this predicament again here in the near future! At this point, I have had the car for two months, and the car has been in the shop more than I've had the car. I did speak with the general manager over at Bill Penney. I let him know what was going on with the car, and asked if they would be willing to help us out with the cost of the new transmission since my car started having issues two days after buying it, and it had been to their service department more than five times. I heard back from him a day later, and he let me know that they wouldn't be able to help me with the cost of the transmission. Carl Cannon; however, did come down $300 off the cost, but Bill Penney, who I BOUGHT the car from wouldn't come off any money! The extended warranty gave us a $3500 credit towards a new one if we went that route, so we came out of pocket the other $1300+ to repair it. read more

Purchased a car on April 5th. Went to get a tag and couldn't get it because the title paperwork was incorrect. I have been calling for over 2weeks trying to get this resolved. Yesterday 4/18 the car stopped. I do not recommend this damn place at all. read more

Last week, I inquired about a vehicle at the Jasper, AL location via internet. The used vehicle sales manager contacted me via text and asked me to set an appointment to which I responded I would get back with him after checking my schedule for the week as I am a career firefighter and work crazy hours. Shortly after the call the dealership sales manager contacted me via telephone and again asked to make an appointment and I agreed to make an appointment. I requested the manager to contact me if the vehicle was no longer available prior to my appointment as I had to travel an hour to get to the dealership and he agreed. The morning of my appointment, I show up on time followed by an hour of the two salesmen trying to "locate the vehicle" that I had inquired about. An hour and fifteen minutes later the salesman returns to his desk with a trade in offer as well as a price on a vehicle I did not wish to purchase or was even interested in. While I hate to complain, I feel that by me addressing the situation, I may help another potential customer avoid conflict. read more

i had a bad experience at the service dept. carried my 2002 dodge ram in for an air bag light. took a week to get an appointment. carried it in and it was back in the shop for about 2 hrs. the young lady came out to talk to me about it.i was told they could not fix it because that didnt have software in their computer to get the codes out to fix it. she said i should carry it to cullman because they could do it. that was a wasted trip. they didnt even look at it. to make a long story short. when they were checking it out at jasper some messed the plug up wher you would plug a scanner up to.i carred it back and explained to the lady what had happened and she said they would take care of it. after having it back there for 2 hr. whick was ridicoulous they brought it out and said it was ready. i left and got down the road a piece and turned the radio on, but it would work. so i carried it back and i was told they didnt work on the radio which i told the young lady that i knew that , but the radio was working fine until they fixed the other problem. she was not nice to me at all when i went back with the radio problem. she made the accuation that she didnt know whether they were responisible for the problems to start with. asked to speak to manger, he came out and asked what the problem was. explained and he said he would take care of it. carried it back to shop, replaced the radio fuse, which was probably shorted when working on it. read more
