Had she told me yes I would have been better prepared to get $3,000 less because I had to file jointly to get a child tax credit and would no longer qualify for the earned income tax credit. When she first told me my new amount I asked her what about what she said when we were in her office 2 years ago. She then reminded me of all the other things that brought me wealth by having a husband, such as our new home that we were building together. At this point I was biting my tongue, I was just wanting to get out of there. Later, when she is almost finished, Ramona asked me what was wrong... I told her I would most likely need to get a summer job now and I am trying to wrap my head around this.
