It was pizza, and it was delivered to Point's Taproom late on a Saturday night. I don't remember it getting delivered because I was halfway through a flight of beverages in the tap room. It wasn't great pizza, but it was pizza, and probably not from a franchise place. Maybe it would be better if I tried it again, but per my companion for the evening who also really likes tavern-styled pizza, "it just didn't hit..." As a tourist, I don't know if there is better pizza available for delivery on a Saturday night in Stevens Point, WI, but I do know that it was what was suggested to us to get from the bar staff; it certainly didn't kill us after eating it, so there's that, and I remember it being tolerable at the very least (when compared to what I get back at home and in the Chicago area)--and probably a bit better than that? Being from the Chicago area I was skeptical how their pizza would compare. We were in for a pleasant surprise. Bill's served an impressive and tasty Chicago Tavern Style pizza. It was served hot, excellent cheese, Sausage and for us just the right amount to tomato sauce and the crust was crispy, not doughy as we like it. The service was excellent and the booth was comfortable. It was very affordable and the very minor issue was the beer selection (for our tastes was limited). We were surprised our favorite Wisconsin beer Spotted Cow wasn't offered. If you're in "Point" stop in for a good affordable pizza. read more

Wonderful, straight-forward thin crusted pizzas and wines! Lambrusco is here, too! Amy K. took such sweet care of us! Wonderful high-boothed seating tables. *Creamy Italian dressing is oh-so tasty! The salad is a fresh salad mix with thinly sliced carrots and mild radishes! That dressing is great to dip some of their pizza into! As a kid, I might have visited Bills at another location but the pizza surely brings back childhood memories. It really tastes as I remembered it. Wonderful and personable server. Last night I was at Bill's Pizza and ordered a pizza. I have been going there since I was 16 years old and now I'm 68. I have never seen a change in their pizzas but I didn't like what I had. From the crust to the toppings and the sauce. It used to be that it had mushrooms on every piece but last night you were lucky to have them on half. It didn't have as much cheese on it and the sauce was awful. If this is the way they are going to be making their pizzas from now on I won't be going back there for their pizzas anymore. read more

It's been probably 10 years since I've had Bills. I remember always loving the Bills Special and was happy to see it was still on the menu. My kids had chicken tenders and I had the Bills Special all to myself. It was just as good as I remember. Love the crispy thin crust. Bill's Pizza is always a must when I come home for a visit. I understand they have a "have patience, we're understaffed sign" but it was ridiculous. We waited at our table for over 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. There were at least 3 servers I could see and only 4 tables total. We got our pitcher of beer that was 1/3 foam but didn't care, we did care about not getting glasses for the beer until the foam had all died. We placed our order for the cheesy bread and our pizzas. Our pizzas came out before the cheesy bread and we were told that one cheesy bread was "in the warmer" but another had to be made. Those were supposed to be out before the pizzas. We were only 1 of 2 tables at this point and were told our pizzas were sitting for a bit because the order didn't have a table number on it. We never received plates and had to go track down a pizza caddy for parmesan. The food was absolutely delicious as always, but I don't think we will dine in again. The worst part was listening to one of the servers talk to his friend at another table about Facebook stalking some girl who was in here based off her name on the card she used. That's absolutely disgusting and made our whole table uncomfortable. He even told that table "sorry, I forgot about you guys out here because I was Facebook stalking that girl in the back!" We didn't see our server after receiving the mugs for our beer because she was too busy cleaning to get out of here instead of checking on her table. A different server checked in on us and gave us boxes. This was a disaster visit. The food is ALWAYS delicious, just don't eat in the restaurant. The roast beef sandwiches have just the right hint of heat and are served on the perfect chewy roll. I came to Marshfield for my high school reunion and made the trip to SP just to eat here. Two times in a row, bad service. Last night, I got my food dumped at my table with no utensils, and by the time I got them, it was cold. Sure, I could have gotten up and asked for them, but if I wanted to have to serve myself, I'd have stayed home. During the wait, I moved my empty glass to the edge of the table--easily 15 minutes before it was noticed. Waited 20 plus minutes for my waitress to come and get my card to pay, while my second water glass sat next to the first, at the edge of the table... When the owner asked how things were, I explained how I was treated, and she did comp my dinner, but it's was really too little too late. Foods good, service is non-existent. Time before, while I ate my salad, the check was dumped at my table, and then my empty water glass was not refilled, and I had to flag down my server to take my payment. There is a sign on the door asking us the customers to be patient, that they are under-staffed. Last night, there were three wait staff working for four tables... read more

Bill's. I've been eating here for over thirty years! They're willing to deliver a bit further out into the sticks than some places, which is nice. I notice much less dehydration after eating Bill's pizza than other places', presumably because their thin-crust is less of a carb bomb. You cannot beat the amount of cheese, either. Bill's excels at a tart, rich sauce that is unbeatable-- not too sweet. The delivery people rule. The wait time is always shorter than promised. Bill's is a true gem & we hope to treasure it for many more years. read more

Oh man, hands down my favorite place to eat downtown. Such a cozy place to share a crispy crust pizza with a date or three really good friends. Pizza isn't the only thing on their menu. They have an awesome in-house special that includes half a sandwich and soup for less than $6. The bread is homemade; light and fluffy on the inside and beautifully browned and crispy on the outisde. You can also feel the love that went into the soup. I've had their chili and chicken noodle, absolutely delightful. You can park in the Library lot and enter through the back or park in the street and enter in the front. Easily accessible. A must if you're in the area. read more

Did not expect gluten free options here, but they have pizza and a hot beef sandwich! I had the regular pizza here back in the day, and it was great if you're into thin crust pizza (I know some folks swear by thick crust). I plan on trying the GF pizza next time I'm in town. Be aware that their "thing" is canned mushrooms on pizza, so if you're not into that, ask for yours without them. This time around I had the gf Italian beef sandwich. I had the option to add peppers, onions, cheese, or mushrooms. I went for the cheese and peppers. When it arrived, I'll be honest, it wasn't what I was expecting to see. I was expecting a hoagie of some kind with sliced beef, but it was shredded beef on a small round hamburger bun. No biggie. The sandwich itself was really good! The beef had a ton of flavor, and cheese was good, but I would have preferred sliced peppers to tiny chopped up pieces of pepper that kept falling off as I was eating. The decor here, I'm positive, hasn't been updated since 1990s, but it adds to the charm of this little place. Good place for pizza if you are in Point. All the booths make the dining experience a private get-a-way. The thin crust pizza had a good base of sauce & cheese, and topped with an evenly distributed layer of toppings. It is interesting to have the toppings on top of the cheese, but it works. I'm not easily turned off by such things as canned mushrooms, and they are fine here, but why don't more restaurants use exclusively fresh mushrooms? Yes, it seems the veggies are canned, but all the ingredients are savory & wholesome. Definitely a case where the whole is far greater than the sum of the parts. The only other item we get occasionally (the pizza is just too good to pass up!) is their Junior/Senior Beef, a zesty, juicy Italian pulled beef sandwich on a hoagie--no au jus needed, thank you, but they'll give you extra sliced dills if you ask (we always do). I've recommended Bill's to many people and they've always been glad for it. UPDATE: Having read some reviews by disappointed customers, I must add that their pizza is far better when eaten hot at the restaurant than delivered. Also, it's a very quaint and intimate venue with a couple dozen booths and an area with some tables that can be pushed together for groups. Also, several tables upstairs for groups up to around 50(?). If you have to get it delivered, get extra cheese and eat the pizza before it cools down. And hey, zap a few slices at-a-time in the microwave if there's one handy. read more

Hands down the best pizza in Point. I'm a sucker for crispy, thin crust and these guys manage to serve up some of the tastiest paper-thin crust I've tried. Generous with cheese and toppings, and all served with an attitude that makes you feel like family. We started with the garlic bread with cheese and sauce - so satisfying. Like the pizza, they're generous with the cheese, and they blister it perfectly on top. The marinara they serve with it is flavorful and robust. The three of us shared a large pizza. We did half pepperoni and half sausage with mushrooms throughout. I can't stress this enough - the paper-thin crust has perfectly crispy edges and I couldn't get enough! They weren't shy with the cheese and meats, and the large was the perfect size for three of us. Bill's also serves up reasonably priced pitchers of Point beers and really tasty root beer. We grabbed some root beer and it paired perfectly with all the other flavors. I'll grab a Bill's pizza whenever I'm in the Steven's Point area! read more

Came here with a group of 7 on a Friday evening. It wasn't very busy, and we were seated right away. Service was very friendly and fast throughout the whole meal. We ordered a couple of pizzas, fries, and a beef sandwich. Everything was good. The consensus was that the ground beef on the meat pizza could have used some spice/flavor. For the area, its 5 stars. I once bitched cause they used canned mushrooms. Ive been away for a few years but returned for work recently and also to visit a close friend. My friend said things have changed here and he was right. For the better , I must report. They DO use fresh mushrooms. We ordered the special. Thin crust paper thin, great crunch to it. Very tasty, I think they could hack it in the Chicago area. Its that damn good! The cheese curds are excellent too. Service was there just enough but not overbearing. And for a weeknight at 7pm they were pretty busy. Prices very reasonable for what they are putting out. The booths are very private if thats what you need. The noise level is modest. Bill's is the best hometown pizza place in town. It serves an italian menu including: italian beef, spaghetti, ravioli and their delicious homemade pizzas. I've had pretty much everything on the menu, but we usually order a pizza to pick up. I love their thin, crispy crusts - which have lots of crunch and no grease. Awesome every time. They also deliver pretty far from their restaurant which is convenient (b/c a lot of places in Point won't deliver outside of a 5-7 mile radius). Overall, when you're looking for a quality, delicious pizza that isn't greasy and relying on gimmicky flavor combos - then this is where you should order from. Ps. if you're ordering pasta - the bread is a must. And my husband loves the cheese curds - just wish there were more in an order! read more

I called only to make them aware. They didn't care one bit. The person that answered the phone was talking to the manager about me. I heard the conversation.
