Life Savers! Alan & Beverly of Bill's Towing rescued me! My car was stuck on an icy hill one cold night and there was no way I could get up the hill. They drove out to check out the situation and came up with a clever solution. Alan patiently worked on freeing my car and pulling up a 180ft incline With cables & chains. It was 8degrees, dark and very slippery. He and his wife were very kind, calm and compassionate. I am so grateful for their help! read more

My car broke down and I was with my 9yo. Driver Alan and his lovely wife (and partner) Beverly were so kind to both of us. They apologized for my wait (which was long...about an hour) but once there were fast and professional. Very reasonably priced - $95 for hookup and $5/mile. Took the car right where it needed to go and showed me where to drop my key at the car repair place. Saved their number in my phone... although hopefully I won't break down again!!! read more

We bought a 15 foot long 8000 lb German CNC Grinding machine from a company in Georgia in April. The freight company used a truck that was too large to fit down our street. I needed someone to meet the trucker and finish the journey into our building. I called Bill's Towing to see if they could do this job. This was no basic rollback job. Guy on the phone, Chuck Jr, assured me they could handle it. they sent out a guy named Bill. He was soft spoken, looked over the situation and the risks, positioned his truck, like a surgeon, he carefully pulled the machine off the trailer onto his bed of his rollback and within 30 minutes was carefully tilting into out shop. Very Impressed. On time, reasonable, great communication. I would not hesitate to call them, Ask for Chuck Jr. or Bill. You can't go wrong. They saved the day for us. This Tow Company is a scam. They tried to go up on the price when I went to get the money for the cost. They told me $250 and when I came back in 1 hour exactly, they told me $300. The lady told me it was going to cost an extra $50 because she had to leave and get dinner. Then they told me it was going to cost extra money if someone came and helped me to jump it. A man came and helped me, and he was more pleasant than the scamming lady. read more

This review is not about their service, that is why I gave two stars instead of one. I am writing this as a fellow driver. The driver in question was driving a truck on Frederick road in Ellicott City at around 1230 on Sunday, March 31 in a truck with Maryland tag19786TT. He was trying to drive far to fast, and tailing people far to closely. The towing service may certainly be fine, however the roads would be a better place without this particular driver on the them. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely vile staff with no regard for anyone or their belongings. Towed my broken down car and when we called to reclaim it they were extremely rude and unhelpful. They then went on to CUSS OUT my father and hang up on him. The office was closed when we found out where the car had been towed to, so we went 9am the next morning LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER and they charged $350 and 2 days of storage. Absolute crooks and nasty people. For a company designed to serve the public I have never seen such outrageous behavior and lack of integrity. You'd be far better off sitting by the road all day then trusting your belongings to these people. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. This company was forced on me by HCPD and their contract with them after I was almost run off the road by a driver. My car is an ev and not inexpensive. I asked the driver did he know and he claimed he was familiar with BMWs. Clearly not because soon after I started recording him he didn't know how to place the car in gear. I told him it doesn't drive. After showing him how to unlock door and use gear selector he tried to drive it. It didn't move. He pulled it up and it rolled finre(still recording). I asked him how they would get it off and suggested dollying the car. He said he knew how to handle it. (I should have followed and video recorded that but who knew). The next day when I went to release it to my tow company the entire front wheel was sheared off. Damage was clearly shown on video and after. I contacted manager Michael and asked to resolve this due to issue it was causing with at fault insurer. He never called me back and left message but when I questioned this he cursed me out and said "F you sue me". This is Bills towing in a nutshell. So now I have to spend more money legally because this company doesn't want to take accountability because its driver either had an ego or didn't care about my car when unloading. read more

Flat boat trailer tire on Route 100 during rush hour just as it got dark. Couldn't get far enough off the road to safely change the tire. Bill's was contacted and while I didn't get the drivers name, I would suggest this company to anyone needing emergency service. read more

1st tow guy was rude and was actually going to try n take my car n leave me and my 2yr old at a 711 bc of covid, he didnt want anyone in his truck. I had to cancel bc that was not happening While I was in my taxi, another Bill's towing (chuck) came to my rescue! He called and picked my truck up for me offered to tke me and my son (I already had a taxi though) and brought my truck to shop. He was so nice and very forgiving. Ask for chuck!! He is a good guy! If I could give a negative review I would. Guy left me stranded 2 + hrs. Thought he had me on hold when talking to his employee - employee didn't log correctly - the guy was still heading to Queens and then drop off before could turn around and head my this. Mind you this was at the 1 & 1/2 hr mark If waiting already! He finally cancelled the call. Geico had to get me another service and another 60 minutes later. HORRIBlE - don't use. So mad at Geico for using these people to represent them. read more

Bill's Towing gave me an estimate of 115- 150 dollars to tow my Tiny House 15.2 miles; then showed up three and a half hours late. I called the driver, and he says "I'm turning the truck around." What does that even mean? Oh,he must have meant that age old lie, "I'm on my way." Then they found a way to make it a $365 charge. They were rude, inept and and lacked any semblance of responsibility. They were simply interested in separating me from my money, while they invented obstacles, delays and billable hours. The driver, then got lost and didn't show up at the prearranged destination. It is amazing. how nice the guy was in the beginning, and then how incredulous he became, by the end. Crooked people are like that. I had a much less costly alternative, but wanted to go with a "professional." In this area, they just think everyone is made of money. My son was stranded 500 miles away from home after his accident. He hired Bill's to tow his friend's boat and store it until it could be transported to Chicago. Not only did Bill's lie to my son about the charges they would charge him, but they submitted one invoice to the boat owner in Chicago and another one for double the storage rate to the credit card company. When we tried to get copies of the charges, no one would communicate with them. Bill's is as crooked as they come. read more

I can't comment on other services but a few days ago we called for an emergency towing service and within 30 minutes the driver showed up and loaded the car onto the flatbed. The cost was extremely reasonable given the distance. There aren't a lot of towing services in Ellicott City so keep it up, guys! read more
