For context: - the rental was not yet open - no customers or workers were at the dock area or on the ramp - Mead's Quarry itself is public land I will never rent from this company, and I encourage you to rent from somewhere else and/or paddle at the free, public Ijams dock on the Tennessee River instead. Knoxville shouldn't lease public land to a private company that polices its citizens.

The lady working the dock area was also super helpful as we were launching and coming in. We did spend some time just floating around to get some sun, there is plenty of space for everyone that was on the water that it didn't fall crowded. Overall a pleasant area to kayak for a reasonable rate. The park is also nice to walk around or to just hangout on one of the many benches or swings.

When I was there last week, workers made sure to carry our kayaks to the launch, help us put in and out and did it with a smile. Today: the girls working were there for social hour. The one that was supposed to be at the boat house obviously didn't want to be. When asked if we could use the new launch, she said she didn't want to carry the kayak that far. The new lunch in the dock is a wonderful feature and much easier to get in and out of your kayaks. Upon our return, there was no one at the boat house to help our party or a party of paddle boarders. We had to move our boats to make room for others to come in. When we went to return our life vests and paddles, the one who was supposed to be at the boat house was inside chatting. We commented that the service was subpar compared to previous visits. She commented back that it was too hot to be out there. It was VERY clear she didn't want to be there and had quite the poor work ethic and attitude. I really hope management investigate this further. Other employees have been wonderful.
