I have to admit that I seldom go to this end of the city. There are CAA outlets closer to home and…read moreto work, so I would not usually need to go to this location. However, the CAA was advertising 1-hour talks on a variety of topics, in a variety of cities in north and central Ontario, and one of them really intrigued me: it was a discussion of the Rocky Mountaineer, the train trip that goes through the mountains between Alberta and British Columbia. That's a trip that has been on my bucket list only forever! So we went here for the talk. They had a speaker who gave us each a brochure, he offered a slide show of videos and pictures taken from the train, and they talked about the different services that the Mountaineer offers. It's all very enticing! It's like a cruise, because the costs also include the hotels. YES - hotels! It's not a very long ride (I have recently been from the Alberta side to Kamloops through the mountains, which took 10 hours a beautiful trip! But this did not bring us near water, and we did not see much wild life. But we were so close to the mountains!) they go for a bit, take their time, and stop at certain very inviting junctures and you stay in a hotel (often but not necessarily a Fairmont), and they bring your bags up to your room. You have breakfast and lunch on the train; these meals are prepared by chefs that are actually preparing the food on the train... Ok, you get the picture! Let me know when you book your trip; I might just book at the same time! The presentation was well set up; there were about 35 guests, and the organizers offered beverages and light snacks. They greeted us at the door and were very pleasant. It would be my pleasure do do business with this CAA outlet. PS: If you are a member of the CAA, there are benefits that go with it when you book this trip - like bonus meals etc. CAA membership also gives discounts at a variety of places, like Capital Cruises, East Side Mario's, and you can purchase tickets for different places - like Landmark Theatres (a couple of years ago, I got tickets for Calypso Theme Park). It has been worth it, in my experience!

Ibrought them both of our policies and I went to them directly. I now have my second claim, ever... since owning a house for over 40 years. We have a had a house flood due to the heavy rain that has hit Ottawa this Canada Day 2026. I started calling at 7pm. I was on hold for about 2 hours, the projected wait times went up and down. Finally when there was just a few minutes remaining I realized I could no longer hear the message. The call had ended and I thought I'd missed the agent. (We were trying to set up a sump pump at that time). So... I called again... again waited over 2 hours and just when it said I had 7 minutes remaining, dead silence for about a minute and then click. I realize now I was much better off with TD Insurance.

I thought this broker was awful. I used them for my cottage insurance. I got squeezed at the last…read moremoment and the best they could offer was insurance that cost $3800 instead of the usual $1500. I had also lousy coverage. They could not tell me how much the premium would change if i made certain adjustments. They never mailed me my policy. They never sent a renewal policy. Follow up was awful. Biggest mistake in a long time. Now back to a broker that managed to find me insurance around the $1500 mark and with proper follow up and client service.

There weren't many people in the waiting room, which was spacious and pleasant, so the wait period was quite short. Was very pleased with the passport photographs. This CAA outlet moved from Hazeldean and... Terry Fox I believe, to another shop in a new plaza…read more(The Shoppes of Fairwinds, the same plaza as the Grounds Cafe and the Food Basics) - on the north side of Hazeldean. They still sell items that are helpful and useful in travel, like luggage etc., but the shop is a bit smaller than the previous location. It's not as much a place to get triptics like they used to offer. I think you can now print those off your home computer, updated with construction and so on. The new outlet offers insurance for home, vehicle and RV, and travel insurance. Please note new hours due to COVID; they're closed on Saturdays.

I needed their help with another insurance claim recently. They were again of no help. This time I learned by lesson. I no longer get my insurance through them. You shouldn't either.
