We hired Soft Touch Moving in June 2025 to pack, move, and store our belongings in their…read more"climate-controlled" facility for four months while our new home was being built. About 4 hours into the re-delivery of our belongings by their crew, we discovered that much of our furniture and personal property which had already brought into our new home appeared to be covered in mold. The contamination affected our brand-new home and required professional remediation. As a result, we were displaced and forced to live in a hotel for 50 nights while the issue was addressed. The owner, John Craft, acknowledged to us that our belongings had gotten wet and remained on their moving trucks for a period of time during the hot and humid month of June. Despite assurances from the company's insurance carrier, we have received very little communication or resolution. More than seven months later, we still do not have our belongings and have had to retain legal counsel to pursue claims against both Soft Touch Moving and the insurance company. This experience has been incredibly disruptive to our lives. Based on our experience, we would strongly caution others before trusting this company with their belongings.

The facility was excellent (clean, well-maintained, obviously designed for storage, and with…read moremitigations to avoid water losses). Staff were mostly good. However, the great pricing was an outright lie. Don't fall for it! I was offered a low introductory price of 30% off "for the first 3 months," but after signing the paperwork I found out that it was really only for 2 months plus whatever was left of the month you started in (which in my case was only 9 days left of the month). That was deceptive. They did inform me that the price "might" increase after 4-7 months, and it sure did! On my 8th month, they jacked the rate up by a full 40%, and on my 11th month, they jacked it up another 30%. Worse, the leasing agent told me that "if" I got a notification of a rent increase, I could call and they would likely waive it temporarily if asked. Nope. I did call to raise concern about the price that was now more than double my contract rate, and after a week and a half of runaround, I was told, "Sorry, we can't do that." So, that's THREE rent increases in only 12 months, with me ultimately paying 2.6 times the deal I was offered initially, and over the life of my lease, I ended up paying 82% higher than the advertised rates.
